I Haul set my original reservation up for a different place. When we got there the place was not open so we had to wait till the next day. As for Winters Auto he was pleasant enough but he obviously does not check the equipment. I had to drive from Hudson, NY to NC with only one light on the entire trailer working. This type of negligence puts people’s lives at risk.

Arrived at 8am (which was the reserved time) and the truck hadn’t been returned the night before. Was told to come back in an hour and it’d be there. We showed back up at 9:15am for the truck to still not be available. The guy at the desk told me his hands were tied and there was nothing he could do. I told him we needed to figure out something as we had people coming at 9:30 to help us move. He tried calling the people who had the truck and left a message. I was very disappointed with the customer service. Another truck (same size!) was in the parking lot but we were told it was for out of town only. Thankfully within the next 15 mins “our” truck was returned.

My reservation was changed multiple times by Uhaul. I was given a truck that was too big, cost too much to operate and was further away. I was told I'd receive a refund and no one followed through.

I hope someone has a chance to read and respond to the email i sent to you last night after returning the truck. Not only was I charged for blanket pads that I did not receive, I had to use my own bedding which got filthy in the truck! Because I have so much bedding that I needed to use, I have to go to the laundromat just to wash and dry everything that was soiled in this move. Someone needs to contact me regarding this ASAP and make this right.

Let me start off by stating I will NEVER do any business with Uhaul again! My rental should’ve been FREE at the end of the diabcle I went through! I tried to make a reservation online and ran into many issues. I was going to Schenectady, New York and the surrounding areas had zero available trucks. So I opted for a truck which wasn’t the correct size, in Ravena NY which was over a half hour away. I received one phone call confirming my pick up which was prior to me boarding a plane and I could hardly hear her, she rattled off an address and I said yes because I didn’t have time to cross check the address I reserved the night prior. I went to the location, much to my surprise they didn’t have ANY trucks. The guy called customer care where she was extremely rude and told me I would have to go another hour out of my way. When I asked how I would be compensated for this mistake, I was told she could only add mileage to the truck and basically oh well. When I told her I was paying nearly $500 for this rental I was told so, you technically didn’t pay for it yet. I said ma’am I still need to move and only have 24 hours to do so and time is being wasted. She said that’s not problem and I confirmed the address for pick up. The manager was called at the store location who called in the district manager for assistance. Unfortunately I had to travel the additional hour... to get to a location I was sent to by customer care and so forth to arrive and have NO ONE be there. While the district manager was nice it also cut into my moving time and I lost two paid movers! Because of technical difficulties where he was trying to manually dispatch my rental. Almost another hour lost! I get in the uhaul and the windshield is cracked. I make my Trip and during drop off the system crashed three times while trying to complete the required task I sat on the phone with customer care for an additional half hour for nothing. I was charged for additional Mileage that I was told would be covered and I never received an initial contract for my rental via email. I have never seen such poor business practices in my life. Also to add I was told that by the initial pick up location in Ravena, it was probably because a truck wasn’t returned in time and they send you else where it’s only a “preferred location” this is by far unacceptable and needs to be rectified!

I have a dealer 4 miles from me and can't get a reservation even trying a week in advance. I need a 10 foot truck every Thursday. I can't always travel to pick one up. I may have to try another company.

I originally had a reservation for a 15 foot truck. I got a call from a woman in Albany Telling Me 3 days before I needed the truck that I could not have it. She was so rude to me that she hung up the phone. She went on and on about how I could not have a 15 foot truck at that location I said I have been renting at that location for years. She said there was a 15-foot truck at another location I said well why don't you move it there she said she couldn't. That other location on Green Street the woman is just not very nice. So I took a 10-foot truck instead. Imagine my anger when I got there to pick up my 10-foot truck and sitting in the lot are to 15 foot trucks to which I was told the reservation has been made just the day before. Meaning I could have had that 15 foot truck. I am not a happy camper

You have missed the whole problem !! Hudson is over an hour away from were I reserved this trailer over a month before. I confirmed that Kingston had the trailer the day before. When I arrived to pick it up, they did not have it and took a half hour to find one. That is not the way to get good reviews. Winters Auto was helpful. The system is broken.

I just picked up the trailer from winters I had very bad experience picking up the truck Catskill self storage went out of their way to please me bring me to Cohoes then to Albany the truck that was in Cohoes apparently was given out already but was still in the system I was very Disappointed with Cohoes the truck was given out on a swap the lady that was there eating pizza New it was given out and said even home yet why wasn’t this taken out of the system again Mike from Catskill self storage you’re such a gentleman and went out of their way totally to help me they’re the kind people that you need representing U-Haul not Not the company in Cohoes the place is so cluttered when you walk into wh not the company in Cohoes the place is so cluttered when you walk in

Truck bed was filthy, smelt like fuel leaked from a previous customer. Placed blankets down, ended up getting our mattress dirty from the floor bed. AC didn't work as well.

The truck itself was decent-- had a few unclean spots in the cab, but I can't complain all too much. It worked and that's all that mattered. My only gripe: I reserved the truck for 2 whole days, 11am Saturday pickup with a 11am Monday drop off. For whatever reason, my truck was reserved by someone else during the time I still had it. (Was reserved to be picked up by someone else 9:30 Monday morning, causing me to lose hours!) It was incredibly inconvenient and breached my original contract. The company was at fault. Don't overlap rentals! Very unprofessional and inconsiderate.

The self service was very time consuming. I had to retake a picture 3 times before they verified it was me. It should only be used during after hour times. The U-Haul rep was sitting there while I messed around with the picture and stuff. Would have been faster if I went through him.

I CALLED TO RESERVE TRUCK 15FT ON AUGUST 24TH TOLD TO CALL BACK ON THE 26TH TO CONFIRM, I DID THAT THEN I RECEIVED A CALL ON THE 27TH FROM YOU PEOPLE PROMISING ME THE TRUCK WOULD BE THERE AND READY FOR ME ON THE 28TH WHEN I GOT THERE THE U HAUL PERSON CAME ALMOST 15 MINUTES LATE TOLD ME HE HAD A 15FT TRUCK AND HAD TO CHECK IT OUT, 45 MINUTES LATER HE STARTED TO DO PAPER WORK THEN TOLD ME I HAD TO GO 45 MILES AWAY TO PICK UP THE TRUCK I WAS ON A BIKE MY TRUCK BROKE DOWN THEN HE TOLD ME IT WASN'T HIS PROBLEM, AND TO LEAVE. WELL YOU GAVE ME A $50 CREDIT IT COST ME $100 TO GO 45 MILES, VERY BAD EXPERIENCE, IT WILL BE DIFFICULT FOR ME TO USE YOUR COMPANY AGAIN.

I was happy with the rental location, however I will not be using UHaul again because I was extremely dissatisfied with the reservation process and also the customer service I received when I called the call center.

Staff was eager to assist. Very courteous. I recommend fuel tanks be rented full and returned full as it is difficult to estimate where fuel needle floats. I've rented many other areas and it seems to be S.O.P. I would certainly rent from Winters again.

The guy at the counter charged my card and then told me it did not go through. I showed them on my bank statement in two places it did go through. I talked to a very rude woman in the Albany office who told me I was lying and she had no Manager. I finally after 2 hours on the phone with someone else got my truck. You all did have my money and told me I was a liar. This was by far the worst customer service experience I have ever had in my life.
