Tips to Consider Before Your Move to Jersey City

• A Melting Pot – New Jersey is extremely diverse, and Jersey City is no exception. • Getting Around – If you do chose to drive yourself, New Jersey has mandatory gas station employees that pump your gas for you, so you don’t have to do it yourself! Be sure to allow plenty of time for the move and always check traffic conditions prior to travel. There is a lot of traffic, especially in the city; in fact, the roads are some of the busiest in the United States. The New Jersey Turnpike is one of the busiest toll roads in the country and extends throughout New Jersey and into the neighboring states of Delaware, Pennsylvania, and New York. Alternatively, Jersey City has extensive public transportation, including the Hudson-Bergen Light Rail (HBLR), PATH Train, buses, ferries and much more. The PATH train makes it much easier to reach parts of New York City such as Midtown and Downtown Manhattan. The bus lines will also take people through the Lincoln Tunnel to Port Authority on 42nd Street. This can save hours you might spend stuck in traffic.
• Prepare for Winter – Moving in spring or fall is the most ideal, as it is with most places. However, if you absolutely must move here in the winter, be sure to winterize your vehicle.
