How U-Haul Reviews WorkOverall, this U-Haul storage facility has the potential to be an excellent location. The property is generally clean, organized, and well-maintained, and some of the storage units are in good condition. However, several important issues need to be addressed to improve the customer experience. 1. Facility Access and Bathroom Availability The facility would be much better if it offered 24-hour access or more flexible access hours. Many customers work late and need to move their belongings after regular business hours. Unfortunately, the bathrooms are often locked or out of order when customers need them most. This is an inconvenience that management should address. 2. Unprofessional Management and Poor Customer Service My biggest concern is the attitude and conduct of store manager Ashley Gomez and her sister, Lisette Gomez. In my experience, their interactions with customers have been disrespectful, unfriendly, and unprofessional. Raising their voices, speaking rudely, and displaying negative attitudes are not acceptable ways to treat paying customers. Customers deserve to be treated with courtesy, patience, and respect. The people who rent these storage units are the reason the facility generates revenue and employees receive their paychecks. Management should understand the importance of maintaining positive customer relationships. 3. Storage Rate Increases and Fair Treatment I have been associated with this facility for more than 10 years, and I have concerns about how storage rate increases are handled. I have known customers who have rented units for over five years without experiencing the same increases that other customers face. Meanwhile, customers who make consistent, on-time payments may still see their rates increase. I understand that businesses may need to adjust their prices, but customers deserve transparency, consistency, and fair treatment when those decisions are made. 4. Access to Medical Supplies During a Lockout One of my most concerning experiences involved being denied access to my storage unit when I needed to retrieve essential medical supplies for my son. My son has medical needs, including supplies related to his respiratory conditions and incontinence. When I arrived at the facility, my unit had two locks on it. I respectfully asked Ashley Gomez if I could access my belongings to retrieve the medical supplies my son needed. Despite explaining the situation, I was not permitted to do so. I understand that storage facilities have payment policies and procedures. However, I believe management should handle situations involving essential medical supplies with compassion and professionalism, while explaining what options are available to customers. Being unable to retrieve necessary supplies for a child is a serious concern that should not be dismissed. 5. Concerns About Conflicts of Interest and Retaliatory Treatment I am also concerned about the way complaints are handled when they involve members of the management team or their relatives. Based on my personal experiences, I have felt that concerns are sometimes taken personally rather than addressed professionally. This creates the impression that customers may face unfavorable treatment after raising complaints. When family members work together in the same facility, there should be clear safeguards to ensure that complaints are reviewed objectively and without favoritism or retaliation. Customers should be able to express concerns without fearing that doing so will affect their access to their belongings or the treatment they receive. My Recommendation I believe this facility could be significantly better with improved customer service training, more reliable bathroom access, fair and transparent storage pricing practices, and stronger oversight of management conduct. I would encourage U-Haul corporate management to investigate these concerns, review how customer complaints are handled, and ensure that all customers receive professional and respectful treatment. After being associated with this facility for more than a decade, I believe customers deserve better. A clean property is important, but the quality of management, fairness, accountability, and respect for customers are just as important. I hope U-Haul takes this feedback seriously and makes the necessary improvements.
