How U-Haul Reviews WorkMy experience with U-Haul Moving & Storage of Northland was unacceptable, particularly the handling of water intrusion inside my fourth-floor, climate-controlled storage unit (4205). October 17: I discovered water inside my unit and immediately reported it to the front desk. Rather than assisting or initiating an investigation, the employee handed me the facility manager’s business card and directed me to contact her myself. I subsequently escalated the issue to both facility manager Savannah and regional manager John. October 23: The water intrusion remained unresolved. I sent updated photographs documenting the continuing problem. Savannah indicated she was waiting on maintenance and promised to provide insurance claims information, which I never received. October 24: Water was still visibly present, a full week after my initial report. I sent additional photographs to both managers and received no response. With no resolution or meaningful assurance that my belongings were protected, I emptied the unit and terminated my rental. Throughout this experience, I was left to document the problem, initiate contact, repeatedly follow up, and ultimately remove my belongings. Management demonstrated an alarming lack of urgency and accountability. Customers rent climate-controlled storage units with a reasonable expectation that their belongings will be protected from water intrusion. When that expectation fails, management should respond promptly, communicate clearly, and take responsibility for resolving the issue. I am requesting a response from U-Haul corporate management addressing why this issue remained unresolved for a week, why my repeated communications went unanswered, and what action will be taken regarding the facility’s handling of this incident. I also expect confirmation that my rental was properly terminated on October 24 and that no further charges will be assessed.
