I went into U-Haul on August 6th and booked a moving truck and got a storage unit near my brother-in-law's existing units. I was given a unit number and everything was good to go, I didn't have a lock on me so I went home. I came back Monday August 10th and went to the unit. There was a lock on it so I went to chat with someone. They told me that I did not have a unit, even though I had proof. This became a whole issue that took up an hour of my time. I was no longer allowed to receive the 1 month free if I put the unit under my brother-in-laws account for convenience. This policy was apparently changed the day before (Sunday August 9th). Which is honestly such a let down. Now everyone has to remember two different code and go much further to move anything. I would like to request an additional free month for the inconvenience.

Bay door did not open at 8pm although employee told me it would until 10pm. I tried to get in for half an hour until giving up and having to drive an hour back to my rental with a car full of items. Very disappointed nobody mentioned anything, or that there was lack of signage telling you how to open bay door and/or if there are hours where it is not in service.

I understood that this would make the process seamless, but when I had to go through all of the steps again in person. They had all of my information but needed it again. They were kind and patient, but also quite slow. I’m guessing that their online system is slow and needs the same information several times over. I was there for about 50 min, which included my wait time, even though there were only two people ahead of me. I didn’t even get to move anything into the unit. Again, the staff were courteous and friendly; they just seemed to really take their time and need my info several times over, even though all of this had been done online in advance.
