JENNIFER a | Overall ExperienceWe had our belongings stored here for a few months. One day we get a call from the store saying that the facility had a leak, and they believe our unit was affected that I need to go open my unit with a manager there. When I opened my unit what I saw was not just a leak. My boxes were soaked, my collectibles ruined with black mold and even had water in some of our totes that were closed. When I spoke with a worker, I was told that the gutters were clogged from their neglect which cause back flow on the roof causing water into our unit. If this was just a leak how long was this leak happening?! When I asked for a different unit, I was told we don't have any available. When we were moving out of our unit a worker came up to us and stated the manager is worried about renting out our unit and the one next to us because they are worried this will happen again and not sure if the holes are actually fixed. Also, this facility is supposed to be climate control but it's always hot when you walk in this place and smells of urine. The thermostat is always in the upper 80s. The manager asked me to send photos of everything that was affected, which I did and then was told my claim is denied I need to file with my insurance. This happened because of the facilities neglect why should I have to file with my insurance for my premiums to go up because you failed to the upkeep of your facility.
Shantal C | Overall ExperienceThe roof in a climate control facility leaked, resulting in water damage to things stored in our unit. It is unacceptable that there is no way to reach anyone after office hours for emergencies, and so we had to find ways to secure our contents while water continued coming in to avoid further damage. To date, we have no resolution to the issue. It took 2 days before we were able to speak to anyone and again, that is unacceptable.
