I had a terrible experience with this U-haul location. In part, most of the staff was helpful. My terrible experience was with the General Manager. My mother resides in Norfolk, Va. I’m a retired Combat Veteran who resides out of state. My brother and I moved the contents of the container of the storage unit 202. After we finished moving, I had a prior engagement on Sunday so I returned to my residence out of state. My brother attempted to clear the administrative portion of the contract, he requested that General Manager call on Saturday. I received a call Sunday, as aforementioned, I had a prior engagement. Didn’t see the call. On Monday morning, my financial institution flagged three attempts on my account from this location for different amounts, which they deemed fraudulent or suspicious activity. I called Monday and the general manager stated that there were things apparently wrong with the unit and we dumped things in the dumpster which wasn’t authorized. There should have been a discussion before attempting to take funds or at minimum show proof. I’m willing to have a discussion, but I would not recommend this location to anyone. It’s poorly managed and desperately needs supervision. I’m asking for a return call or point of contact other then the General manager whom is very unprofessional and not informed on how to conduct himself as a professional.

Dkayla B | Overall ExperienceOnly a few staff and management was clear ,fair and understanding with all of uhaul rules ;regulations and standards,I have lost storages before because of job loss,sickness etc.and I was treated fairly,but since the continued change of management and employee turnover,the integrity and respect for the community and customer needs were poorly and some times not met @all,now or never would I recommend uhaul services,I would perfer other associates and friends to go somewhere else where they would be better served

When it came time to check out I needed less than a week to be out had to pay for an additional month then was charged anyway after I removed myself from autopay and still waiting for the funds to be returned

Wouldn’t that attract more bugs, insects, rodents. I hope not because I would dislike it if my items are destroyed. My clothing and all. When did Uhaul start using wood in units?

(Water and mold damage to where it had to be disposed of since it was actually not reparable or salvageable. That was an unfortunate $1,900 issue with extra trips to the unit and the non repairable personal effects that were trusted to U-haul.
