I haven’t even stepped foot in my storage unit, I had to purchase storage through another company that actually let me go when I needed to and had more knowledgeable staff. I was told that there was after hours storage by a very helpful staff member, but when I went to go use the after hours storage I was told to leave. I had to spend so much extra money just because the employees couldn’t get their story straight. The office hours don’t line up at all with my work schedule so I never even got a chance to go use my unit. Management needs to do a better job of educating employees on when customers can access the facility. The facility also wouldn’t answer calls. Their number routes to the U-Haul main line and when U-Haul tried to call them they just never picked up. Do your jobs!!!

The general manager and manger went way over and beyond to show me how to use the lock. They were very welcoming. The unit is the perfect size for the right price. I do a lot of business with U-Haul and they representatives handled me with care.
Kerrainn R | First ImpressionsI was confirmed online for one month free storage for the exact unit I ultimately paid for yet when I arrived on-site was updated that not only would that exact unit not have been offered for that rate, that there would not be that offer honored. I paid the first month yet am super disappointed that the online promotion was setup that way and resulted in not only customer frustration and inconvenience but also unnecessary time and energy for staff (and management) involvement to smooth out. I feel like this is something that can be resolved so it does not continue to happen for future potential customers. I hope that there will be efforts taken to honor the *promise* of a comped months storage rental fee for the exact type of storage space I have at this time.

I had just completed a long move and needed to unload my 15' foot truck to my storage unit at the Rainier Valley facility. Even with a long line at the office, Kenyatta handled everyone's situation (including mine) promptly and with poise. She's the most capable, professional, and friendly U-Haul employee I've ever worked with!

Omar S | First ImpressionsThe staff were friendly and seemed to be trying their best. Maybe I happened to go at busy times or maybe they’re understaffed, but the gate to access the lockers was never open during the morning business hours when I’d arrive. It’s time consuming to find someone to unlock an access every morning you arrive, especially when you’re busy moving. Communication could also be improved. There was a lock left on my locker the day I rented. Was told it would be removed that evening and be ready to move in the next day. It wasn’t removed or ready when I arrived with a trailer full of furniture. Staff couldn’t unlock it. They said they would call a locksmith. I was given a temporary small locker. Called that evening to see if the locksmith came, but they hadn’t even called yet. Granted, they were busy, but that was supposed to be taken care of the day before. I had to spend more time moving furniture from one temporary locker to the rental. It’s hard enough to coordinate help and transport when moving, and U-Haul did not make the process any easier. .

AnnMarie K | Overall ExperienceMy unit looks like the door will fall off the hinge. The inside of the unit door has a deep dent like someone knocked something into it. The ceiling is exposed so I am concerned about water leaks eventhough I purchased insurance that will cover if there was such an event. The absolute worst...there is a black box in my unit near the door that says "rat poison".
