DESMOND H | First ImpressionsI rented a storage unit from U-Haul Moving and Storage for $169 per month — already an expensive rate. What I got in return was completely unacceptable. The entire facility has a severe infestation of clover mites and other bugs. They were crawling all over the building, and when you rolled up the unit door, they would literally fall on you. Eventually the clover mites made their way inside my unit and got onto my belongings. I was extremely concerned about my stored items being damaged or contaminated. When I brought this to the general manager’s attention, she casually dismissed it by saying they were “just clover mites” that eat grass and vegetation and are “completely harmless.” Apparently an infestation throughout the building is acceptable to them. This complete lack of concern for customers and their property is outrageous. Communication was equally unprofessional. One Saturday morning at 6:30 AM, I received a text from the manager complaining about my lock not being compliant. Waking a customer up that early with a petty issue was already inappropriate. I used that opportunity to report the pest problem, only to be brushed off. I followed up again by text when the mites entered my actual unit — and I was completely ignored. No response whatsoever. This level of neglect, dismissal of legitimate health and property concerns, and poor customer service is unacceptable. I will never rent another storage unit from U-Haul, and I will not even consider renting one of their trucks in the future. The $169/month I paid got me stress, bug-covered belongings, and zero support. I strongly advise everyone to look elsewhere for storage. Save yourself the frustration and potential damage to your property

To my regret and surprise I found that the roof had been leaking for quite some time, causing damage to several of my stored items. I advised the young lady that I checked out with of the leak and was advised that she would have it looked at. Never a question about damage to any of my items, not a care given. Maybe instead of building a u-box storage facility at the site, maintenance could have and should have been performed on the existing facility.
