I dealt with a lady. When renting without reservation, we went through the app on her phone. My move was quick and local so I felt I didn't need to add the optional insurance. She kept repeating that she felt nervous renting out the uhaul box van because they are new and I'm taking it without insurance. I assured her that I was moving within 5 miles and it shouldn't be an issue but she kept on saying that these were her vans/trucks and was nervous. When checking the fuel this is where another issue started. She said the fuel gauge was 1/4 full. When I got in the van it was less than that. I made here aware of it and she said from where she was looking at the gauge was at 1/4. I asked her if she can jump on and double check. She refused and continued to let me know I would get charged if it wasn't back at 1/4 fuel even though whoever had it before I rented it had gone below the 1/8 mark. I will definitely not be back at this specific location as the customer service was poor.
Genaro CI told them it would only be 20-30 miles driving, max, but they added an $89/day plan that included 100 miles plus an additiMax, 26 miles (??) in charges when i picked up. Then I had to wait a half hour when I returned the truck, having driven only 9 miles, for them.to fix it. They tried multiple times for me just to leave. Felt like they were hoping I'd go away and let them charge me the $80 more than I should pay.
