Please train the person who operates this location on how to complete a rental transaction and how to treat customers, so that he can provide the U-Haul rental service that you advertise. Our experience renting from this location was terrible and I would not recommend this location to anyone.

My truck that I was to rent was one hour late coming in. I was notified that it would be 30 minutes late, which was okay, but when I showed up ten minutes after that, I still had to wait another 20 minutes. I should have been offered a discount or some kind of compensation for my trouble.

Read terrible reviews about Vanier location, so chose Mimi's even though it was further. Reservation went fine, Martin is great, and returning went smoothly as well - at 9:55 pm!

Very convenient if you live in Centretown and need a cargo van for the evening when most rental locations are closed. No problems walking in and renting on short notice. Limited English ability of the clerk made the explanation of the terms regarding fuel refill confusing, and ended up being charged an additional $0.50 when I returned it even though I had already put in more fuel than I used. Even with that, still much cheaper than any alternative.

The van was covered in snow and ice and I was given a worn out brush to clean it off. I also find it weird that U-Haul rents vans with a quarter tank of gas, expecting to fill it back to the equivalent amount. Why not just keep the a full tank? The staff person helped me direct the van out of the driveway and onto a busy downtown street which was appreciated. The download location is also nice to have. A better snow brush would have been really helpful though! Also, I had to pay for the kilometres and the blankets in cash after I returned the van. Not sure what that was all about. It seemed bizarre since I requested blankets in my online reservation which I reserved using my credit card.

I was given a van with NO passenger mirror, not even broken, just not there at all. This is illegal and should have not been rented to anyone for anything. Terrible experience and a waste of money.



It took at least 15 min to setup so i could leave with the van. The van they gave me, was in front of another uhaul van, so they made me take out the other van out of the parking , so i could take the assigned van. The van was dirty !! left over bottles, chips bags etc.. Upon return, she insisted a lot that i pay cash..i guess so she can avoid paying credit card fees...the milage she put on the final receipt was was 26 km more than the one in the van..when i tried to make her correct the mistake, she said that that's what the milage was in the system and she can't change it..i just hope they're not going to charge me extra for those 26 mysterious km. NOT RECOMMENDED !!!

The van was covered in snow and ice and the driveway wasn't clear or salted. It was so icey that it took us an hour and a half to get the van out. The store owner was friendly and lent us a pick axe and a scraper and let us rent the van for longer since we spent an hour and a half of our reserved time to get it out but she was not very knowledgeable about the van, couldn't help us get it out, and didn't even salt the driveway after we left so we had trouble getting it back in!

I had to wait an hour and a half for the truck after calling ahead and being told it was ready It was a less than stellar location and on top of that there was a $5.00 charge to leave my vehicle in the driveway. What a rip off



The price you advertise ($19.99) is very misleading and will lead many customers to be quite disapointed. I paid, in actuality, over $60 for a small van, for 1.5 hours of use and only 23 kms. I will not use u-haul again.

The shop owner is having clients bring in the gas receipt to him and tries to refuse the return if it is not provided. I have never been asked for this before, as the contract states that it must simply be returned half full (which it was) Also, I was told by the lady (not the owner) at the rental place what time I had to have the truck back the next morning. She informed me that it had to be returned before 9 am as they had another booking then I clarified this 3 times and have at least 2 witnesses who were present with me and also clarified the return time. I arrived at the location at 8:35 am Saturday the 29 of October and the store was not open with no posted store hours. After waiting 25 minutes in 2 degree weather, I called the U-Haul mobile line. They informed me that I could leave the key under the seat as there was no drop box at the location. In total, I was out in the cold for over 40 minutes. At 10 am the owner called me and accused me of taking the keys home with me and demanded I come in right away to bring in my gas receipt and the key. I informed him what the customer service line told me and he got very upset on the phone and became incredibly rude to me, telling me that I clearly wasn’t listening when told what time to return and that I was told they don't open until after 10 and it was my fault I was misinformed/ lying and wanted to talk to my partner instead of me as I was a female, regardless of the fact that I rented the U-Haul and it was my credit card information on the bill. I calmly told him that it was my rental and that he would have to deal with me. I again repeated I would not be returning and that the purchase was preauthorised. He again asked for the gas receipt. And told me if I didn't provide it, I would be charged for the gas. I told him that after waiting 40 minutes in the cold, if the gas receipt was not in the truck still, he would not be getting one as I was not interested in paying a second $30 cab fare to get to the location and that his customer service was terrible. I am very disappointed with my experience. I have never had these kinds of issues with previous U-Haul rentals and was surprised at how I was treated. I firmly believe that U-HAUL should withdraw from this location (Mimis Express Food Mart) as it is giving their company a bad name. I will likely use U-HAUL again, but never from that location and will be warning anyone I know/meet not to use that location either. Please contact me if you would like more information Peggy Miller

The cargo van was dirty. The fuel deposit was half empty. I had reserved the cargo van for 24 hours and I had to return it 5 hours before. When I got the van, the lady gave me the key to a van that was broken. The place is dirty, the uhauls are parked at a dirty place full of construction waste. We did not receive the user´s guide. I would never recommend this pick up location to anyone. And I stronlgy recommend to revoke the license to rent uhauls to this place where they have employees and don´t even speak english or french.



I was told that because we were going such a short distance (50km) that we would be charged 40 cents a km instead. Then we were charged 49 cents. When we dropped off the van the agent told us that we would pay the rental on the credit card but the gas had to be either cash or debit and it came to $20. I gave him $20 cash, for which there was no reciept. We were still charged the 49 cent km charge on top of the $20 cash we gave the agent. Our 47 km trip that took 90 min. cost me $86.64 in total. Please respond and tell me if this is regular procedure or if the agent has taken $20 cash from me for no reason.

The gas tank should be full upon arrival. I want to pay for the gas I used, not the exorbitant price that you chose to charge me because you "couldn't tell" how much gas I used. I feel totally ripped off and I will never return.



The owner was reasonable and fair. The vehicle was in good shape.
