So my experience was great once I got a truck. The events that lead up to me finding one was nerve racking to say the least. I cancelled one on foster at about 1 because they didn't have what u advertised being in stock. Then I confirmed another at a car lot on 12444 SE stark to be told by email at first did not again have a 17 ft truck. I went on your site called your 800 number several times trying to find a solution. At this time I was on the phone with a specialist a Mr Morrow called and said we have another option about 10 miles from me.I said no thank you because the other rep was in the process, and my girl had called stone Depot and verified a 20 ft truck was there. When I explained the process I had went through she tried to help with milage and could not because it was in town. I at this point was at the car lot and they said they never even had a reservation for my name. I was still on the phone and lodged a complaint asking for a refund or some compensation for my trouble and was yet again told of 50 gurentee so I asked that to be filed. I hope that this is an isolated incident because I've rented several times from uhaul and this was just downright fustrating beyond belief. I think most of the reason for my anger about this was because of the wording and no reply when I explained what happened VIA email to Mr Morrow. If he treats all situations and people with such disrespect I would think your gonna loose some business. Please call or Email me if u like and like I said hopefully this was an isolated incident. get rid of pay per mile, the store I went to advised me I had to return the equipment to their location, because trucks are assigned to specific locations. The issue I have with this I moved 60 miles away and because of the policy I had to pay for 120 miles instead of turning the truck in locally and avoiding the extra 60 miles of travel cost, also if these trucks are assigned to specific locations, as I was lied to. Why did the truck have Indiana license plates, in an Oregon location. All this amounts to is extortion.

Check in process was a bit slow despite the fact that I had filled out all of the information through the UHaul site in advance. For some reason, they could not accept my credit card for payment. Were able to take my debit card.

Put a sign on gate to indicate where to park truck and where drop box is. Its not a very well lit area so for security reasons I parked truck in front of gate, blocking it, and it took several minutes to locate the drop box...it was attached to the mailbox post in a dark area. Not very noticeable.

The only complaint was that the truck had previously been rented by a cigarette smoker. The inside cab was very stinky and I needed to drive with windows down to breathe. I used a fabric deodorizer at my home to lessen the smell of the cigarettes which improved the cab sufficiently to perform my task. I recommend that the truck cab be professionally detailed and the truck be labeled non-smoking for future renters.
