Location? Fantastic, guy was amazingly helpful. YOU guys? Pretty disastrous, as usual. Could have made it clear up front that taking my passport with me would have saved TWO HOURS of hassle because you didn't bother to mention my previous verification had lapsed and the contact verification turned into a total shitshow (with zero explanation on the customer end). So we picked up the uhaul cargo van from 616 6th ave. Its a party shop with no board or signage that tells us its from Uhaul. This was my first experience. These people were employees for that store without uniform ( which is understandable as its a small business). Me and my friend just asked the store employees whether they were from uhaul politely as the cargo van also had no stickers or signs that said uhaul. They suddenly got soooo mad at my friend. they started saying cuss words and abusing us " saying its ok if you don't wanna take it from us. and then said "fucking get out of here if you don't want it' to my friend. Honestly i felt like getting out of there right away. as this uncourteous rude and idk who does that to a person who's new. but then i resorted to having the uhaul as i had a lot of bookings for my building like moving in booking lots etc. hence i couldn,t step back from my promises. Honestly at that dealership store i had the worst off experience to be honest. We being the customers were taken advantage of just because we were in tight circumstances. i hope you people look into the matter and reach out. This isn't expected at all

I've been to this location before and was treated quite well when I couldn't find the Van and I was able to go inside and speak to the clerk who was helpful. This time the combination lock was not showing on the screen and I was unable to go inside to speak to the clerk as the message I received on screen said to do but they did not answer my knocks on the door and when they finally answered the phone after calling numerous times, the person said to call UHAUL and so I did. Then everything started to go as planned, the person on the other end of the line sensing I was stressing out because I was now behind schedule and realizing that I had tried to solve this through the store, helped me with the lock combination and I was able to retrieve keys and get underway almost 30 minutes after when I should have been underway. Now for the cleanliness of the van and the gas gage and the Oil Change message on the dash. As soon as I got into the vehicle I noticed how dirty the van was, lots of dust on the dash and dirt on the floor of the cab and rear storage area. The outside was dirty as well, not what I've come to expect from UHAUL. When I turned on the engine, immediately a message came up that covered the mileage stating that an Oil Change was necessary and it would not go away until I figured out how to make it disappear for a moment so I could take a picture of the gas gauge and the odometer. So the van was less than a quarter full and this surprised me as I've never gotten into a vehicle where it was not almost full, even half way would have surprised me. So in closing, when I was cleaning up the truck which I left cleaner than when I got into it, I found a bill of lading made out to the store from where I rented where it listed all the items they had purchased from a wholesale flower seller where stores purchase their flowers in bulk and this store sells plenty of flowers so they are using this van for their personal use and not cleaning it as they should. Lastly is the petrol, I filled it to a quarter full and that was about 1/8th more than when I picked it up in the morning. I was shocked to see that I was not compensated for my cleaning, the gas and the 1/2 hour of wasted time. So I'm not giving 1 star but probably should and am giving 3 stars because of the gentleman who I dealt with on the phone twice that day. Oh by the way, I hadn't even finished with the truck and an amount was withdrawn from my bank causing me great distress and had to phone my bank to find out what this charge was for and then phone UHAUL to find out why it was taken before returning the vehicle.

This was the worst UHaul experience I have ever had. Two days before I was scheduled to pick up my UHaul van, I was told there were none available at my selected location (even though I had booked a month in advance) and I was told to go to another location. I realize this could happen, but unfortunately the second location I had to go to, at 616 6th Avenue in New Westiminster, BC, was absolutely horrible. The location has zero signage, and is difficult to find. I ended up finally locating the store by parking in a back lane and walking up and down the street. When I entered the location I was told to talk to someone two stores down the street. The person at the second location told me to go to the back of the store and find someone in Aisle 3. Once I finally found someone to help me with the vehicle, I was led through a back door and out into the back lane where the van was parked. Again there was no signage and the van was not even labelled as being from UHaul. Once I was given the keys, I was not provided with any other information or paperwork. Normally someone tells me how much gas is in the tank, the mileage, and does a pre rental inspection. None of this happened. I realize because of COVID, this information could be sent electronically, but I never received anything until a day AFTER I had returned the van. Fortunately I took my own picture of the gas level and mileage, so I new how much to fill up upon return and was aware of the mileage I had driven. Also, the van ran poorly, had a "change oil soon" message, and had clearly not been cleaned in a long time. Given the COVID situation, I would have expected the vehicle to be sanitized between customers, but given the level of dust and crumbs everywhere, this had clearly not happened. Also, when I finally did receive an invoice the next day the charges did not make any sense. When I called UHaul to seek clarification, even the person I spoke to could not understand the way I had been charged, but assured me that the amount was correct. After this experience I will try to find anyone but UHaul for my next move. I am certainly willing to pay more or go out of my way to avoid a repeat of this experience. And I will be sharing this experience with everyone I can.

The location was a little difficult to find again when we had to return the vehicle. But the greatest issue was the employee at Uptown Party. This is my first U-haul rental. When I walked in, I asked "is this a U-haul pick up?", and his response was a mumbled "it's self-serve". ... I had no idea how self-serve worked, and he didn't even point out where to go to access the parking lot. He eventually showed us the door after 2 more tries at asking "where do we go?"

We were supposed to be able to get the van at 8:30 am. The self check in did not actually work and allow us to get the van on time. We ensured we were signed up for self check in, and even went to the location the day before to ensure we were properly set up, knew how to acces the van etc. The store owner even confirmed on his side that he saw we had self check in and talked me through the process. Despite our efforts and due diligence, we had to spend 45 minutes on the phone with someone at U-Haul (being transferred twice to speak to the right person). When we finally got the van, and checked the back, we noticed the van was left very messy and has so much garbage in it by whoever used it before us. We were left to clean up their mess so our valuables weren't ruined. There was also empty bottles and garbage left up front which we also removed. What was Initially supposed to be a clear smooth process was not. We were quite disappointed and rushed because of the delay. In order to get the truck back on time, we weren't able to stop at a gas station either.

Have 2 dollies available hen ordered. Maintain the vehicle. Steering wheel was sticky. Emergency break was broken and chimes went off 100% of time when driving. When I complained, the store employee said take it or leave it. It ended up with a $60 charge for being an hour late.

Customer service rep was busy with cashier stuff though I should have been served first. The vehicle was not maintained well, not cleaned by previous renters, gas tank was almost empty and engine sign was on all the time. I put more gas leaving half tank full when returned it but I didn't as for credit, fine with me. On the whole not bad experience . Thanks

The location was great and they were helpful in person, but the Uhaul online platform used to do mobile check in/drop off is not good. It took a very long time to set all this up and had to call customer service because of website issues.

First of all your mobile app was not working it took multiple attempts and three agents until my third agent suggested to try going through the website. Then the code to unlock the key box was incorrect we tried 2 different numbers both did not work. I then had to walk all the way around to go into uptown party to get the owner to help me who was already busy with his own customers. I lost over an hour trying to get the truck in which I had people waiting to help with the move. The silver lining was the owner of My Uptown Party who was helpful in fixing the problem. The key return was still not working when I returned the vehicle but he was there to accept the keys. The inside of the truck was well maintained, the cab could use some clean up, the outside of the truck had multiple damage spots and the way your app is a person has to be careful to make sure they are seeing everything so they will not be held responsible for someone else damage. Other than that the truck ran well.
