Rather surly manager. Big storage facility with a great deal of pressure on him though, I'm sure - - and I was late returning the rental, which he had scheduled for another customer later that morning. Still, he could have been friendlier...

I don't normally write reviews but I felt I had to let everyone know about the bad customer service I got from the Mission Viejo U-Haul. I went online and scheduled a trailer to rent for Sunday at 10:00am. They called me back and said they did not have one at that location till 1:00pm. I said fine i will take it. Showed up at 1:00pm and they are closed for lunch till 1:45pm. Then when someone showed up they said they don't have any trailers and I would have to go to Santa Ana to pick it up if I want it with a I don't give a sh!t attitude.( Apparently getting and online reservation doesn't mean anything). I asked if I could bring the trailer back to Mission Viejo instead of Santa Ana since they screwed up and they had the nerve to tell me I would get charged a substantial fee to bring it back to MV and that I need to take it all the way back to SA. Tried calling Uhaul customer service and was left on hold listening to recording for 45 mins. Don't waste your time with the MV U-Haul they won't help you at all and they just don't care!

When I arrived, they informed me the power was out and there was nothing they could do. They didn’t even apologize or offer any assistance to help me change my reservation. When I asked how long they expected the power to be out, they responded with a “1 minute” in a joking/ridiculing manner. They eventually figured out how to get me checked in without using their computer, but by then It was already too late. No apologies were made and customer service was absolutely horrendous and I will never be returning to that location.

HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE at this location. Defective truck latch and horrific customer service. The owner Tom posted false mileage and never posted that our truck was returned at the time it was. He was personally disrespectful to myself as well as my spouse when he returned the truck calling him "a moron" when he had mentioned the truck latch was broken. Especially when were never given any sort of direction how to operate the truck. We expect a full refund for this experience, as well as highly suggesting the company to fire this man.

Teach the Sunday attendant how to remove a trailer from the hitch. Provide a lift or jack in case the trailer is too heavy for him to pull up and off. Another customer had to lift the trailer off my hitch. Otherwise, he is a very nice guy.

We rent trucks from uhaul to load sets and have always had good customer service and positive experiences. This latest experience was absolutely horrible. The guys running the location are complete jerks and don’t care at all about customer service or even common politeness. The guy who rented the truck could figure out how to use the printer or the computer and told off customers in front of others waiting. Wow!

Lying, deceit and sneaky practices will never be acceptable in the trailer rental business! I was told by three different rental managers that I would not be charged for an extra day as long as I turned the trailer in anytime during the regular business hours of my return date ! Not only was I charged a extra day, but it was done in a sneaky and deceptive way ( no hard copy receipt given and nothing was said about additional charges) I had to find out by my credit card being charged! Also the hoops I had to go through to even get my trailer were totally unacceptable! I made a reservation with #1 agency 10 days in advance. A week later I am contacted by agency #2 telling me I will have to drive twice as far to get the trailer. Then on the day before my pickup day I am told the trailer will NOT be available (delivered to a different city) and I accept a $50.00 missed delivery refund or drive 10 times the distance to pick up one in a different county. I accepted the latter. The whole ordeal was very trying and I question whether I will use U-Haul on my 3 remaining trips planned over the next 3 months ( still in doubt) In short the lying deceit and tricky way I was treated leaves a bad taste with me and the deceitful business practices shown me stinks to high heaven! A refund for the extra day would go along way to smooth things over but I don’t put much hope in that happening!

Nothing needs to be "improved" in my book. I love that if I am not near a computer, all I have to do is call Tom Callahan at RED CARPET RV STORAGE and he makes my reservation for me in minutes... and he is always so positive and professional. And every time I pick up the UHaul truck from him , the truck is always clean and ready to go. Couldn't be happier!!!!!
