McGregor HOil was low and one of the wheels on the left side was squeaky. Online check-in and checkout was clunky, not smooth or seamless.
Pegeen KI had to do a multi step move (multiple trucks, sizes & trailers) from Taos NM to Arizona. I set up the 1st truck & trailer on the UHaul site approximately 2 weeks before the scheduled pickup day. The weekend before the pickup day I stopped into the pickup location to ensure they were going to have the truck and trailer I ordered. While the employee I talked to was nice, she definitely didn’t make me feel comfortable that the requested equipment would be on site by the day of pickup. She stated that “ UHaul would call to update me”. Well they did call 2 days before pickup day informing me that for a truck and trailer combo that I ordered I would either need to go to Santa Fe or Colorado since the Taos location didn’t have it. This was a HUGE hiccup in the whole move process since this was going to add at least an additional 6 hours to the beginning of the move and requiring 2 people to pickup truck and trailer. Again huge additional burden on the customer. Now fast forward 1 week to second half of the move. This time needed a 25’ truck, preordered with UHaul online with a pickup location of Taos. Again, 2 days before pickup UHaul contacts me and tell me I will have to pickup truck in Española since Taos doesn’t have the truck. So now an additional 3 hours and 2 people to go and get a truck from a whole different city in NM than where I was supposed to get it. Again as stated above, this is a huge additional burden on a customer that is spending many thousands of dollars on a move. After truck was loaded it was deemed that a small trailer was going to be needed as well. UHaul at Hinds & Hinds Storage Northside actually had the trailer, I was actually shocked that they had some sort of inventory. The personal I dealt with while picking up the trailer were personable but did admit that the Taos UHaul “hardly ever has equipment “ . My question to UHaul is if a location this severely under equipped and incapable why have it as a equipment pickup location at all. Since all it does is frustrate and cause the customer to lose confidence in the overall company?
