I think the service at the location was good. I was just about 30 mins late, but they didn't even have a truck. The guy was trying to find me one for the time my rental was booked, but he had to turn me away. He said he'd call if a truck came in. Meanwhile, a location way across the city called me to tell me they had me booked for 5-530pm while I was at oak and 16th to pick my rental up. I told the guy that my rental was never booked for 5-530pm, and that I needed it for 10am, so he cancelled that reservation. Luckily the guy at oak and 16th was able to get me a truck at about 1145am. I finally got my rental, but we had to work fast as my helpers had prior engagements. The fact that Uhaul didn't have a truck for me, for the time I reserved a month in advance, and to just make a reservation across the city from me,, for a rental that I booked for several hours before shows how unprofessional the company is, and if it wasn't for the lower prices I would never recommend for anyone to rent from them. Horrible experience!

My experience with Oak Dollar Plus was excellent, my experience however with Uhaul and UHaul's customer service was atrocious, and i will not be booking with Uhaul again.

The people in the shop should have told us, that the shop will be closed at some times during the week or some days completely. We waitet 2 hours outside until they opened at 2 pm. There was a small paper how to manage a online check-out but i don't like that with a rental car. What is, if the person says later that there was a damage? What is, when somebody hits the car after i left it? Not a good solution. But the car was perfect. Thanks a lot.

I still didn't receive the refund that was put on hold. I have called the Oak Dollar Plus and Greg Scheffel saying that he can't do anything about it. Accurate odometer readings on the forms so that you don't have to do any math with adjusting to the correct starting mileage reading. Same with the gas level.

I had problems with the pick up point, it wasn't the same I required and I had to change the reservation and I lost an hour for it. You should make it clear from the very beginning, not after the reservation has been done!

U-haul booked a cargo van for us in a location that had yet to open, the store owner said his shop regularly opens at 2pm and we were to pick up our vehicle at 11am, so it was lucky anyone was there to receive us. The owner also remarked that it was lucky our vehicle was there at all - because of this mixup we were given our vehicle half an hour late which put time pressure on our move. I also never received a conformation email or call the day before my booking and when I called in to ask I was told a different booking time than I was initially promised, so I'm glad I did call or I would have shown up an hour late to get my vehicle. To top this experience off I was sent a receipt quoting $46.00 charges and have had $95.00 charged to my credit card. I expect some sort of compensation.

First and last time renting with uhaul! Should have been charged the $19/day rate to suddenly find I've been charged $89. Why? Not sure, but I do know that 1) the odometer they recorded was not comparable to my photo evidence 2) they clearly cannot add: 2155-1980 does not equal 241...apparently the km's I used and was charged for 3) the $15 insurance charge that I received though I opted out of said insurance 4) I was charged a fueling fee when I have two gas receipts to prove I put gas in the vehicle: I received it at 1/8 of a tank though he recorded it was at 1/4, I also have photo evidence of that not being the case. My invoice is at least double what it was expected, magically, with no cause or notice. Sneaky stuff clearly going on with the Oak location therefore, will not be driving with uhaul in the future. The only good experience so far, was Jamie, the woman in the call center (I waited over 20 minutes to actually speak with a human). Hopefully this will be resolved but save yourself the trouble and the money and use zipcar instead!
