It was incredibly easy and straight forward to rent this truck using self pickup.

The location was closed when I arrived for my 11 am pickup. At 11:16 I received an email reminder with a phone number which I tried but which was out of service. After almost half an hour on the phone with various customer service people, I was told I had to self register. I was not informed earlier that this would be the case. I had booked various contractors based on getting your van at 11 am, and I was late for everything for the rest of the day. I will never use U-Haul again and will advise anyone who is interested not to use U-Haul.

Store clerk had poor listening skills. Kept on insisting that the gas was at 7/8 when the needle was clearly closer to 3/4. Yes I have a photo. He refused to hop on the driver seat to visually check. Van was not cleaned and smelled of cigarette smoke. Charged $15 for CDW when I did not opt for this on my online booking.

Everybody I dealt with on the phone was wonderful, really exceptional customer service. Some of the best I have ever experienced. The gentleman at the actual location was just fairly indifferent. Not bad, just nowhere near as outstanding as the phone customer service.

The location was closed for the holiday, there were no clear signs about where to park, and no drop box for the key. We ended up having to throw the key through a small ceiling-level open window, which took several tries. The location is difficult to get to due to bike lanes, luckily traffic was light.

Make sure the truck is on time. Waited over one hour as the truck was late. Maintain your vehicles. The truck wouldn't start as there was something wrong with the steering column and ignition. The wheel would lock and unable to turn the ignition key over.

I was charged double for everything. The manager is so rude. I read the reviews from previous customers and most of them are negative ones. And now I know why. I tried to email to solve the charges but the email given from U-Haul is invalid. Who can I contact to solve the issue since I will be going overseas soon. Thanks LYLY

Agent was very organized and helpful. The vehicle ignition was quite finicky. I'm not sure whether it was the key or the ignition itself but the getting the key to turn was quite the process. It involved rattling the key around for quite some time until it finally caught. The truck ran very smoothly thereafter and served me well. My only problem was with the starting process.

turned up to oak street location per our booking - store closed and no truck there. called your helpline, was bounced around and put on hold for more than half an hour before before being hung up on (I had gotten 4 words into explaining the situation). then got to the west broadway location, the man was rude and unhelpful. I will tell anyone and everyone that uhaul is to be avoided at ALL costs. From start to finish it was an absolutely disgraceful experience in customer service. I would rather pay three times the price to avoid using your company again. Truly disgraceful.

The location was a convenient distance from my starting point. But the person at the location was 15 minutes late in arriving at the location, did not know the booking check-out procedures and the check out process took almost one hour - time I did not plan on spending. When I returned the vehicle the same person told me I had to back the truck into the parking space, which was clearly impossible because of the constricted parking area and the presence of other vehicles. Overall, not a satisfactory experience at all. I know this is not a typical U-Haul experience, as my previous rental from U-Haul in Ottawa, where I live, was efficient and pleasant. U-Haul needs to look very closely at the operations of this agent of yours. It does not reflect well on your company.

Our experience was awful. We could barely get the vehicle started each time we had to turn it off. The man in the store was using his cellphone for transactions and was extremely rude and hard to understand. We believe he overcharged us to make a profit for himself. When I searched google for other reviews, many of them had the same experience. We called Uhaul to make an objection and still haven't heard back. Will not be using uhaul again.

I have used this location a lot in the past few years and It has been fine but my last two experiences over a one month period have been extremely disappointing. We were not informed about a change in procedures (to use the Self'pick- up and drop off ) and as a consequence of this were charged for two additional days rental and then on the second occasion, because the parking spaces are so tiny, we found it impossible to park in the designated spot, phoned UHaul Customer service to ask what we should do and were told that the location didn't even show as a self-drop off location and therefore they couldn't help - we were on our own and responsible for all damage and ticketing/towing fees incurred. The Agent proceeded to hang up on us. Appalling customer service from UHaul and lousy communication (this time) by ANR Chris Convenience.

The location was closed all day. In the reservation the info was different. It never said clear anywhere that the price 19.95 is per period regardless how long the period is. If I know I would have booked the whole day and avoid Getting charged twice when I returned the truck past the time I booked it for. Feels like I got screwed, not a good feeling.

We had to download an app and get a code to open a box where the key was (the store was closed so there was no one to talk to or help us). We had no instructions and were on hold with uhaul for quite a while before getting any clarity on what to do. Our phones were low on battery so we were barely able to download the app in time but eventually we got it. The moving pads and trolley we booked weren't there and there were no instructions where to find it so we had to go to another uhaul location and rent them from there. Overall we were 2 hours delayed on our move and had the elevators booked in our building so it was really stressful. It was not intuitive at all and very poor instructions. I think they should be able to give you the code over the phone, not everyone is able to download an app (low battery or low data etc) and not everyone even has a smartphone. This needs to be a little easier and more accessible. The uhaul staff were all very nice and polite, this system is just very complicated and caused us a lot of stress.

It was a horrible experience because of the uhaul partner at the location. He was rude and unorganized and blamed his clerical errors on me. While I was there others said he was treated them poorly as well. He needs to be reviewed by HQ. This has seriously impacted my view of UHaul and I can't see myself renting from your company ever again.

Arrived in a hurry and the clerk was really helpful in making sure there was a cargo van available for us. The clerk genuinely wanted to help, and was able to set us up with a cargo van on the spot. Great service.

Realistically this review is not indicative of any problem with this location specifically. I've used uhaul a few times and it's always junk, everywhere. This time the truck smelled like a dog-food factory. And as usual, the price was pretty expensive. I travelled about 32 or 34km, put about $16 of gas (12 litres ish) in the truck. Inlcuding the $15 insurance it cost a little over $65 dollars. It's always way more expensive than I expect it to be with uhaul. They market it as cheap but it absolutely is not.

What made me chose to use uhaul was 1 - location 2-that I could phone this location directly NOT via some American uhaul answering service in Texas or some other place. I could deal directly with Mr Christie and he accomodated me answering all my questions. It appears these small convenience locations are supplied the vans by Uhaul as required once one books. Uhaul delivered the van to him in a slightly dirty state so he noted that on our behalf. Mr Christie was great and very helpful. And it was much better just phoning him then online with some anonymous person in the Another country !!! Buy local is a big food movement , it is also a good principle to support and deal with local small businesses too!!

U-HAUL messed up this reservation. I had requested a location on Oak Street (Vancouver) and got a confirmation that the rental would be at this location. I arrived at this location (they weren't open when they said they would be) and the owner didn't have my reservation. He did have an extra vehicle and was very accomodating so I did get a vehicle. The Oak Street location called me later in the morning asking if I still needed the vehicle which at that point I didn't of course. So, your reservation system seems to have sent me to the wrong place.

I returned the vehicle with the EXACT amount of fuel as what I picked up the vehicle with. I have a photo of the vehicle showing the fuel level upon return. I was charged 10 dollars for fuel.

Was one of the worst rental experiences after. Luckily, the one redeeming factor was the manger of the outlet gave me a call back to smooth things out. Still wouldn't go to an outlet ever again. In the future, I will DEFINITELY go to an actual UHaul rental branch to talk to actual UHaul personnel.
