First issue I had was when I opened the unit. I was told the monthly price, gave my credit card, and was surprised when the first monthly payment incurred an excessively large late fee. I notified the store of my confusion but there was no reduction or one-time waiver of the fee, not even an acknowledgement of poor communication. Then only three months into my contract the monthly rate was increased. So much for having a contract or even attempting to honor the advertised price for even a few months. Such bad consumer practice. Then unfortunately my situation changed 6 months later. I had agreed too store someone else’s belongings who was homeless for a short time, but we both ended up moving out of state and there was no indication he’d be able to pay anytime soon and said it was okay to let the stuff go. We were unable to empty the unit ourselves and I was told after a missed payment last fall that it would go to auction the next month if not paid. That was a relief ironically, since it was unfortunately my only option. But it took another five months for the auction to occur. I wish I’d known. Meanwhile, I continued to accrue monthly rental fees, late charges, deal with a barrage of notices, and then charged a fee for the auction, unit cleaning, and lock removal. Having to pay another almost $1000. If I realized it would’ve been that kind of crazy process and expense I would’ve hired a junk removal company back in the fall.

The only thing that brought this down to two stars was that i was unable to easily access the building for many months. The check in key-card pad wouldn't check me in. I worked witg staff and manager to try to make it work but in the end it seemed like an incurable software glitch. The manager closed out my account and opened it as if new. Fingers crossed that this fix will hold. Manager was great with follow up.
