Ana C | Overall ExperienceThe unit did not have a secure clasp, and at one point when I thought I had locked it, it was in fact still open. Later I was asked if anything was missing; at the time, it appeared everything was there. I'm missing some items. On my first attempt at renting a van the manager informed me I HAD to give the name and address of someone who would apparently take responsibility for monies owed as a result of my damaging the $50,000+ van. This was NEVER discussed when I initially inquired about its use, and I have never been asked to do this in Santa Rosa where I now reside. When I asked for TEMPORARY use of a unit to move items in from another storage unit I had with Stor 'n' Lock and items from my rental in Upland, I made it perfectly clear this was due to the fact I would be moving in a weeks time (7 days) to Santa Rosa, CA. I was told that would be fine and that the first 30 days were free. In the process of moving, I had to move my personal items around Mr. Jones (a transient) who was present the majority of this time sitting outside his unit with the door ajar. At one point, I was moving said items out a back door, which was at least twice the distance from my units location, into the 10' truck I rented for the move north. I'd like to point out, I'm now 70 yrs. of age as of this past May. I consider myself well-fit. However, I made this entire move-on my own-with no help whatsoever. I was working from sun up to sun down cleaning out my rental while moving boxes and furniture to Pomona. WHENEVER, I tried to make a phone call to the Pomona location to ask a question or inform them of my need for extra time, I was rerouted to another number to determine who to call to get help. One of the last phone calls I HAD to make to determine why I was being charged for a unit I had absolutely nothing stored in and had abandoned with the full knowledge of the very person I rented it from and who helped attach the trailer I used to pull my car on my way up north at the closing of day (7 pm), I was DEFINITELY NOT a satisfied customer.

On the day I wanted to rent the vehicle and was asked for these requirements I was a little taken aback. Later, it was explained why I needed references and managed to calm down. Also, although the associate was trying to be helpful, I needed a unit reserved for my final destination. Instead of explaining I needed to do it, they tried to help and led me to believe I had a unit reserved. I called the manager of the site to make the reservation myself.
