Our socioeconomic impact: Mobility for local economic development
During fiscal year 2007, U-Haul served more than 11 million do-it-yourself household moving customers. Also during this period, more than 700,000 people stored their belongings in a U-Haul storage facility. We have a positive impact on the economies of all 50 U.S. states and 10 Canadian provinces.
U-Haul recognizes that the socioeconomic impact of our business can be significant.
Our range of shared-use (rental) trucks, trailers, moving equipment, moving supplies, towing accessories, propane, self-storage, and financial services facilitate moving America and sustainable economic development, thereby helping to grow economies, create jobs, reduce poverty and raise living standards.
