The customer service on the phone sucked. I talked to 3 representatives and none of them could help me. Thankfully the kind man working in the building helped me with maintaining the 6 foot rule and wearing proper PPE. U-haul was crappy, but Acorn mini storage was great!Nicole W.
I was not informed that that I needed to fill the truck with gas before returning it. After I dropped it off and was about to get in my vehicle, I was asked "hey! What about the gas?" I ended up opting to be charged for it rather than getting back in truck and trying to fill it at a gas station myself. So frustrating that this policy was not communicated up front.Heidi S.

when we came back to return the truck, no one was there even though we came back before 6 pm. so my husband had to follow all the instructions on the phone which wasn't too difficult, though long and his phone was nearly out of power. It would have been much faster and easier if the office had been open as we had been told it would be.Elizabeth L.
I only used this location because I was forced to. I had a reservation to pick up a truck nearly 10 miles away in Brooklyn Park - MUCH closer to where I live and needed the truck. As I was driving to pick up the truck and was just about three minutes from arriving there I received a call saying they didn't have a truck, because two trucks had not been returned. So they said I'd have to go to Blaine to get a truck or I just would have to re-schedule. Re-schedule? Really?? After planning all of my activities around having the truck that day??? The guy was as nice as he could be under the circustances, but still... He said I'd get a $50 credit either way. That was pretty meaningless since I needed the truck. If I just cancelled I'd have the credit but couldn't accomplish what I needed to. And by having to drive the extra to Blaine, some of the credit was eaten up in milage and extra gas. And it didn't compensate for the wasted time - a good two hours extra. As to the location: Use the correct address on listings for the business and PUT UP A SIGN saying it is UHAUL affiliated. This is NOT a UHAUL location. It is a storage business that rents UHAUL trucks on the side. It has NO signs identifying it as a UHAUL location. The address listed for the business is a main road, but it is NOT located on that road. It is located on a parallel road that is quite separated, making finding the location very difficult. It was a HUGE waste of time and very frustrating to get to this place! That said, it worked the same as any actual UHAUL location and the guy there was very nice and helpful. The equipment worked fine. So the real complaint was the run-around in getting the truck, finding the location and the wasted time. Otherwise, things were fine.Daniel R.
Make sure U-Hal doesn't screw you over when their location is not available. Call them to make sure they have your reservation because I signed up for a reservation for a U-Hal location that was a three minute drive away from my new apartment. It gave me the option to make a reservation UNDER THAT LOCATION. Only when I arrived there, they told me I had to drive to a U-Hal location 15 min away from my apartment. So I went to the U-Hal location that they told me. Once I arrived there, they told me I had to go to this third party storage unit that's not even owned by U-Hal, but it partners with them and they had my one truck that was there. I had to spend extra money on mileage and gas, and I had to drop it off in the same location. My confirmation email said that I was to pick up my U-Hal at this third party location, but I did not sign up for that location what so ever, so the confirmation email sometimes will be different to what you signed up for. After begging to move my reservation to a closer pick up, my drop off location was adjust to a location away from my house. I didn't realize it because the name was the same. I called UHaul two days before drop off to see if I could adjust the location back. I was informed they could not because there was a rental immediately after mine even though I wanted to drop the truck off a full day early. Bottom line a dropped off the truck after hours to the correct location and it costs me a $30 Uber. U-Haul is a necessity evil to the moving market. The reservation system is broken and unfortunately the options are limited. I wish Penske was more price competitive. Sometime the cost is worth the quality of the service and product. I feel I need to post this review publicly. I'm a COO for a small corporation and I will use this example often when I speak of quality and customer service.Russell G.

We were running late by 1 1/2 hours. I called manager ahead of time. He called me names and was very rude. When I returned truck and tried to e plain my son got injured he still continue to beret me in front of customers. Very unprofessional. He charged mea. Extra day peneties. Email night before said truck is reserved. Last minute call letting me know I had to drive to Blaine, MN to pick up truck...put be behind. Please don't tell me you have a truck at a location when you don't. I was offered no compensation for this inconvenience. Your fail should not cost me. The dolly had a weak zip tie on it, bumped it after moving a dresser and the zip tie got cut from it. Didnt use the dolly at all, but since the zip tie was cut we were charged. They advertise $30 for the whole thing but we got charged an additional $30 for no reason. The receipt shows "$30 rental rate, $30 rental charge".casey P.

Well I called to learn about renting a uhaul from a store they didn't have an available truck at that location so I had to travel further to rent one and was charged for the extra mileage and gas which I felt was unfair considering the store which I enquired had big signs saying hauls for rent.Shannon H.

We had a problem when returning the U-Haul, they sent a text telling me where to drop it off but no one said it was Acorn Mini Storage. I received a text message with the address. I was told they were open from 7am - 7pm, when we arrived no one was there. There were no other U-Hauls to know we were dropping at the right spot. Saw the key drop. Didn't feel comfortable leaving the U-Haul right outside the building without someone knowing so I followed someone going into ACorn storage and parked in the gated area. Then I couldn't get out so I had to walk down where I saw some people and they gave me a ride out. I almost jumped the fence, but didn't think a 58 year old women should be doing that and get hurt. Renting the UHaul truck through Acorn Storage was very convenient and the personal was very personable and professional. The truck itself was terrible looking and ran ruff. The breaks were very bad and in need of fixing. I felt the need to take a picture of the bumpers because they were dented before we started. Truck dirty inside both box and cab. Returned and was billed for cleaning.........????? Go figure as no worse than when checked out. Also billed for dolly...agent said in the truck and would not be billed unless used....never used. Check in was poorly handled as she said overwhelmed with current customers so park truck and would be emailed recpt. Yes, over billed, no discussion about truck condition or opportunity to dispute charges. No, don't think I would rent U haul again. And if asked, definitely not this pick up location.DAVID S.
