I set the reservation to pick up the truck near my home but I received a call that I would need to pick up the truck 15 miles away , in the opposite direction of my destination.I tried to contact Fire Towing on Saturday but their voicemail was full. - Charged $7.00 for utility dolly which was not provided at time of rental. Tried getting the $7.00 taken off bill, but was unsuccessful. - Driver's Sun shade latch was broken, so shade was bouncing around during driving. - Driver's seat was pretty worn and felt tilted to left side making driving uncomfortable.David F.
I was charged for 3 days. My contract was to return it 2 hours past 48 hours and noone explained to me that I would be charged for a third day. I blew a tire that had been flattened and plugged before. the plug blew. I had to wait until the tire was replaced and returned the trailer 21 hours into the 3rd day. I have been unfairly charged for a 3rd day, and you rented me unsafe eqipment.Robert K.
My reservation was transferred to this location due to terrible service at the original location (Lazy Chimp in Downers Grove) where I had a confirmed reservation. Lazy Chimp is terrible representation of uhau. Please call me for feedback. I refuse to do business with that company and am telling friends about them. It was so bad that I looked for other truck rental companies while waiting for uhaul to transfer my reservation. Uhaul called me to transfer the reservation to Fire Towing before I could go with another company so thank you for that. I rent trucks often - look it up - my husband (Paul Korzenecki) and I are regular customers - I've never had any uhaul persons been so disrspectful and unlawful . reserved a 5X8 changed by uhaul to a 6x12. Charged for a 5X8. Sounds nice but a 6x12 requires twice the gas to pull.So not a good deal.. Fire towing said I would have to wait half hour for help lifting the tongue, Really? Other customers helped lift it! Unsatisfied and unhappy. I want a 50% discount.Dane M.
We turned in the trailer one day early (we picked it up on 8/8/2021 @ 8:15 am, we dropped it off on 8/9/2021 @ 8:00 am (and the office person came out to help me take the trailer off my vehicle's hitch). She also inspected the trailer. We had even folded the ten u-haul blankets & stacked them neatly in the trailer by the door. And yet, we were charged for 2 days (with the u-haul location informing u-haul corporate that we had turned it in on 8/10/2021 & 8:00 am. So, we were overcharged for one day.STEINAR A.

I booked the truck my total came to $344.without insurance as I declined the insurance, when I came to pickup the truck I was told your card will be charge for $381.00 I ask why I was told $342. rep told me millage plus tax never mention about insurance. Find a different location, very small area, personnel could have cared less except to say while we were unhooking trailer that we needed to move, chewing gum. We are 70 and 80 yrs old and had to push trailer to parking spot , no room to use truck to park.Thomas C.
Tried calling when dropped off, no answer, no machine.. Driver side park lamp was out, Plate lights non functional. Also the spot to leave trailer is higher then the paved parking lot so getting hitch off ball was pain in the nuts, I had to search around for blocks to put under the trailer jack leg. If this isn't corrected I'd recommend supplying a 2-4" drop ball hitch for free.CHARLES W.

They didn't have anywhere for me to park my car while I was using the U-Haul and didn't even have any suggestions for where to park. They acted as if I was the first person who ever needed to park a car while renting a U-Haul. They also seemed too busy to get me checked in. They told me to do it all on my phone.Michael G.
The truck, the price, and the assistance at Fire Towing, was excellent. I was disturbed when my 3 week old reservation was changed to a distant location 12 hours before pickup. I was able to change it again to Fire Towing and the very helpful person worked things out to the original quote.PAUL D.

Truck was not guaranteed, had to drive so much further to pick up a smaller truck then what I reserved week in advance, truck not compensated at all for the extra mileage I had to drive to pick up this smaller truck. Never received the 50$ Reservation fee, charged way more then I was quoted and, there was a very large whole in the trucks floor that my mover hurt his self on and, every time I call I'm on hold for hours, then get an answer just to be placed on hold aging for hours for nothing no one ever helped me or resolved my issue. Terrible experience going to try my hardest to never use u haul again.Ariehanna S.

I was charged for gas after I had already replaced gas and returned the gas gauge to a higher level than when I rented the vehicle. The location is supposed to adjust the charges to correct the error.Richard W.

More than anything is to do more QA on your app. I had problems with it the last time I used u-haul and this time I did as well. It did not let me upload a photo when checking the truck back in. Fortunately the mobile website worked. I will not use u-haul anymore for my moving needs unless I can find sites with in-person check-in and out.Joseph K.

The Cargo Van had the statement that it needed an oil change soon. The attendant was very nice and helpful. The online situation was not so nice and really frustrating. I tried for an hour to sign on and kept getting the state event that my zip code was wrong for my state. We have lived in the same location for >40 years and I know my zip code. I called the 800 number at 8:00 am on Sunday morning and waited 50 minutes for someone to answer. By that time we were almost at the location and the attendant signed me in - in about 5 minutes. No one explained I should use the online section to check back in, but the same attendant was at the location and took care of it.JANICE D.

The fuel level was not the level in was indicated on the contract. The contract indicated it was 3/4 full, and it was actually little 5/8 full. I only had the truck for less than 6 hours and had put on 45 miles on the 15-ft truck. Based on 10 miles/gallon mileage and I filled up 5 gallons before returning the truck. When I returned the truck the fuel gauge showed 3/4 full, which is more than when I took the truck. When I returned the truck, the man charged me again for refueling charge of $17.xx and he did not give me a receipt. The receipt was then sent via email after I got home and opened the receipt. That's when I found out that I was charge extra for refueling which I have already done.EDWARD C.

Woman who handled the return wore no mask and was rude. When I asked if she was going to check in the trailer, she said she would do it later. Over 24 hours later and it has not been checked in. So I went and did it myself. She insisted I back it into a tight space and when I told her I couldn't do it she was rude. Definitely not a positive experience.Judith S.

I understand it's a towing company and this isn't their full time job however no one was wearing masks. Our truck was pulled out for us by someone not wearing a mask and not sure if their hands were clean. I was so uncomfortable and highly disappointed.Amber P.

They charged me for items they didn't even have them tryed to give me different dollys and I don't want them and the lady said she wasn't able to take them off the order and I need the trailer ASAP but like how can you charge people for the things you don't have I WILL NEVER GO HERE AGAIN THEY DO NOT KNOW WHAT THEY DOINGEDWARD D.
