The pickup process after hours was a horror and an absolute waste of time with poor website support. The marketing dept and tech dept should work together to ensure the easy "GET YOUR TRUCK 24/7 USING ONLY YOUR PHONE" actually works. NOT ONLY COULD I NOT USE MY PHONE , BUT I COUDN'T USE MY FRIEND'S PHONE and the couple trying to return a truck after hours COULDN'T USE THEIR PHONE!! Our phones would not track the location rendering the rest of the process on the website ABSOLUTELY USELESS for picking up OR dropping off. After trying to start the process at least 8 times on both phones, I opted to download the app. FINALLY the process could begin. WHY NOT SAY THAT FROM THE START? THE PROCESS CANNOT BE DONE WITHOUT THE APP? OR IF YOU HAVE DIFFICULTY, USE THE APP? The only thing it says is if there is a problem to call the number listed — THE NUMBER OF THE SHOP WE WERE SITTING IN FRONT OF THAT WAS CLOSED?? How useless is that???? To add insult to injury, I was using a Canadian phone with Canadian cellphone service but was willing to incur minimal costs to do the EASY PICKUP. By the time I called the 1-800 number for help, I'd spent 50 MINUTES incurring costs. Dwan in Georgia who stayed on the line was fabulous so had it not been for him, I would still be seething. He suggested I call customer service to try to recoup those costs. The 1.5 hour pickup time will be lost to me forever. After giving an alternate number when I booked and made the reservation, the pickup process wanted another person and number so I re-entered her and it refused this person. I'm out-of-country and don't have a lot of associates in Gasport NY! Do you? That was another process trying to have the app accept my answers. Had the quick and easy pickup process noted I should have extra ID (a passport) and additional names and numbers, I would have brought them! Keeping it a mystery until 9 pm at night in the middle of rural NY, 45 minutes from my accommodations was not helpful in the least. I want to be clear, it wasn't the location that was the problem but U Haul's website and lack of adequate pickup information that made the process frustrating and time-consuming. If that can't be rectified, there's no point offering after hours pickups. The first truck I reserved was not scheduled for the pickup location listed on Ridge Road in Lockport. Fortunately I spent the extra time visiting the site and having the VERY HELPFUL proprietor locate another truck and re-reserve it for me for that evening in Gasport. Had I not done that, I would have been sitting in Lockport at 8:30 am Saturday Oct 10 with no truck! On the positives — the truck was clean and a perfect size, and ran well. The one-way return was vital in this situation. With only 84 miles included, it's a tight window that will add substantial cost to my next move in a few months. This was a one-way rental costing about $500. I will be needing the use of TWO trucks within about 3-4 months. Can you guess who I am not going to call unless I hear about remuneration of my cellphone expenses??? And how many more people I am going to tell about this experience?

Going on a little sleep I over looked the poor wiring that connected to the lighting of the trailer the wiring was in poor condition and I never should have taken it

Very hard to get hold of. You took double the amount out my account called several times after three people finally 4 the person admitted they did. Because of that mistake I had to have my mother wire money Walmart. I knew they took double amount because bank told me they did. You where very hard to get hold of also and in the beginning had to get trailer some where else because last minute was told did not have 4 × 8. I hoping your gonna put my money back on my card. I feel like that your company was dishonest and service really not the best. I knew the woman card more than once because she said first time it failed. The gas mileage for the 20 foot truck was less than the 26 foot truck with a 10 cylinder V8? This was discussed as better. I would not recommend this vehicle to anyone. I would also like to reiterate that the people that were to help me on the first trip never showed to assist in either location when times were given. This was over $800.00 for Lockport and Murrells Inlet. I also would never recommend them for a U Haul application. Finally, I would recommend a modification to the utility dolly similar to the appliance dolly with the stair roller applied. It would make it easier to move products up and down stairs. The appliance dolly does not work well with smaller wheels.

Should not take telephone calls ahead of clients sitting in front of you. I had to wait over 15 minutes, even after I did everything on line. Took almost 1/2 hour before I was out of there....

Sales rep was very friendly assisted us with getting Trailer easily. She made sure that we had the trailer on a timely basis . It had to be brought to Gasport from another site. Trailer was in very good condition and traveled very smoothly.

Notify the customer more than 1 day in advance if the product will not be at the preferred pick up location. We had to drive 40 minutes out of the way to pick up our truck, no one was there, there was a crack in one of the side mirrors (noted with a sticker, but not fixed). I was told we would be compensated for a 1/4 tank of gas, but found no notation, and were charged for the extra miles the new pick up location put on the truck.

My only complaint is not with this location, but the fact that uhaul corporate switched my reservation from this location to another some distance away. Gasport auto sales corrected and even picked up truck for me from other location. They saved the day! uHaul should not change customer pickup location. Instead don't allow selection of location if no trucks are available.

Great vendor. Trailer was severely dinged up.. renting a trailer with this many dings leaves the consumer very concerned as i dont know how they can keep track of who damaged it. Brought it to the facility owners attention they were great & reassured me it was OK. Uhaul needs to update the trailer!

Wheel straps frozen stiff and they came off twice while towing and they were as tight as you could get them so it could have been very dangerous but we got lucky so any thing uhaul could do to remedy this would be a good idea thanks Vince
