The company should contact the customer prior to the day they are picking up the vehicle to explain procedure terrible customer service. Charges afterwards were outrageous.

I never received the email with the lockbox code. It took me almost a 1/2 hr to get ahold of someone to get the code, while I stood in the parking lot of the location.

The Most Frustrating Part Of My Experience, Was Trying To Finalize The Application And Retrieve The Keys On Site, On My Phone. After Trying 15 mins, I Gave Up And Called Customer Service. It Took Over An Hour To Complete The Process. I Was Very Dissatisfied With This Overall Process And It Messed Up My Scheduling For The Day. I Have No Qualms About Customer Service, As They Seemed To Be Stymied, As I Was. I Appreciated Their Patience And Reassurance, That We'll Get Through This Process Together. I Have To Believe, That There's Got To Be An Easier Way Of Reserving A Truck On Line.

What worked: Van drove well and available upon arrival. Easy to use and already had gas. Instructions lead to successful pick up and return. What didn't work: The app experience was clunky and lead me to creating to reservations due to unclear confirmation. I also wasn't expecting to have my friend called randomly without notice to agree if truck was late for return. The Van was dirty inside upon pick up and smelled terrible and when I reported it in the app I was asked to pay $25 cleaning fee. I had to dispute it to ensure I wasn't charged.

The uhaul.com experience was the worst experience I've had from a company website. It took me 45 minutes to figure out how to get approval and finally get my info approved. Zero info was given in emails and I had no clue how to work site. Another customer had the exact same problem as me as well and were at this location even longer than me trying to get their truck. Worst customer service ever as well. Both myself and the other customer were on hold all 45 minutes and never even got to speak with a representative. Ridiculous system that needs to be fixed ASAP. I'll be using another company from now on, doesnt matter if they're more expensive.

I would like a phone call back at 774-259-5877. Explaining to me why both locations charge me for this U-Haul. One charged me $138. The other charged me $68 or $70. that is not what I signed for. I signed to be charged once. Not twice and then to be charged almost $200 for a U-Haul rental that I would have never taken had I known that was going to happen. So I would like a phone call as soon as possible today.

Ask more questions to determine their moving needs. All I was asked was how many bedrooms, not how many rooms, how much furniture, how many boxes. We had to make 2 trips, which is completely unacceptable!! We did not drop off the rental in the location we were "assigned" because we had to return to the starting point to get the rest of the stuff. (This we were able to fit into an SUV and a pickup that we were using. I called Uhaul for the ok to leave the rental and key at the pickup location and was told it would cost more, which we anticipated. I said it was ok because there was no way we were driving to the assigned drop location from there, but i'm actually really disgusted at the need for an additional trip and the extra unanticipated time and fuel expense. We will not use Uhaul again, and we're not the only future customers you've lost - none of the friends who helped with the move are interested in having a similar experience!!

I found the phone work to be a bit tedious and time consuming, so plan to incorporate this into your time for the rental. I struggled with location services and even though I had them on, my phone would not work with the website and I was fortunate enough to have someone else with me and could use their phone. If not, then I would have been stuck with picking up and dropping off the truck. It took over a half hour for pick up and drop off due to this and we only had the truck for 4 hours. The location and availability was awesome! The truck was rather new and very well maintained! The experience once driving was positive. Customer service was great when I had questions about self pick up (as it was our first time renting). I will more than likely use this service again with our moving needs.
