Help with the 24/7 truck share self service experience. We got to the location 858 Wyckoff and our van was not there. After calling customer service, we found out our van was 4 blocks down the street. But then my order timed out and deleted so we had no way to get the keys and this time had to wait with customer service for an hour to be able for them to reactivate my order. Then we got the incorrect van, but it was the only u-haul van on the block we were told to go to. When we returned the truck, all the pictures of the fuel and mileage didn't match and were 'lower than what we picked up the van at' which was false. We provided the correct information, we were just given the wrong van. I will not be doing the truck share ever again, it was a bad experience.Walter V.
This location was disorganized and the people were not helpful. They never told me that I needed to respond to prompts on my smartphone (taking and submitting photos of gas and mileage), and they are trying to bill me an extra $38 for no clear reason. The van was dirty it wasn't parked anywhere near the location, the whole process cut into the rental tone. U-Haul also charged me twice for my last rental.Madison D.
Staff were rude, uncommunicative, and incredibly unhelpful. Did not provide me with a contract or any documentation. I was simply handed keys and told to go find the van, which was parked a few blocks away. Van was dirty and filled with trash. They were even more rude when I returned the van, and told me I had to go park it at a random gas station three blocks away, then walk back and return the keys. The pickup process was unorganized and a painful experience. They also forgot to include the furniture pads I rented, and didn't have any available so I had to run around the city to find furniture pads before my movers showed up.JEFFREYALPHONSO S.
This Truck Share was a complete mess the whole time. Trying to pick up was a nightmare. My reservation was changed to a â€œhand deliveryâ€ without telling me. Also no one could explain what a hand delivery even was. Then trying to drop off was also TERRIBLE. There was nowhere to park the truck. There was no parking lot like the directions said. There was only street parking which was completely full. I had to drive around for almost an hour trying to park. Which added mileage that I had to pay for. These locations need to have their own parking lot. Overall a horrible experience. If I could get my money back I would.Alexander P.

It is unclear where the key pickup is and the van that I rented was not marked on the bottom left with the corresponding number. This caused a lot of confusion to the point where I had to make multiple phone calls and chat with 2 representatives online in order to get my rental in order. I was told by the man inside to just walk around and look for it. I did not get my van out until almost 30 minutes after I arrived at the pickup spot and this caused me to have to return it late and be charged. When I returned a man walked up to me asking me for the keys and I could not communicate with him because he did not speak a lick of english. I did not know who he was and I wanted to follow instructions and put the keys in the dropbox but he kept trying to take the keys out of my hands. This experience was terrible and id like to be refunded for the late fees.Matthew T.

I rented the cargo van 5/11 and returned it the same day before they close and was told that I will receive a credit for my gas overfill and I was charged for returning the vehicle on 5/13. First red flag was the filthy cabin with food and sauce stains all over. The truck was sandwiched between two vans and I couldn't get it out until they moved the vans. Made me late. Couldn't even take the first Few pics of the truck to show damage. Turns out they were hiding the damage on the right side with the way they parked. Second, once I got to my location, I opened the back to find a broken and dirty bed, tv, food, and tons of debris and garbage. Beyond filthy and almost made my family gag. I was disgusted and couldn't believe this was actually given to me. I called the store to complain and they told me to drive back, after already making late. Unreal.. I saw that this location had a 1 star, but still decided to give them a chance. I don't even think I'll use U-Haul anymore since they truck wasn't even verified clean and ready to hand over to a new customer. U-Haul needs to drop this rep or start verifying the lies before giving filthy trucks to unwitting customers.Sarmad B.
My original reservation was at the Rego Park location. It was changed by U-Haul to the Bushwick location (opens at 10am). However, my app told me to check in at third location (at 9AM) 5 miles away. When the Bushwick location tried to get me into a van, it was discovered that non of the three vans at that location had been checked in from the day before. This was after nearly an hour delay in getting the computer system up and running. Sum total, I was delayed over 2 hours from the original pick up time (9am). Upon my return, I was able to use the app to check in which seemed to streamline the activity. The staff at Mateo (Bushwick) was very understanding and worked diligently to get my situation resolved. Terribly unorganized. Took an hour to get my van. My movers had to leave and I lost the deposit for my movers over it and had to call a friend to help move huge items up flights of steps as I'm new to the city and we are both small, that wasn't easy.
