Greg Smith was wonderful. We were in need of a truck at the last minute to move our Mother to assisted living in Albany. Because he was accommodating and helpful it was an easy and pleasant experience. I would highly recommend RL Smith - for U Haul rentals and anything SaabCAROL L.

The steering was very loose and the breaks where grabbing and would lock up unless you pumped them. The truck was clean but had a lot of outside damage and we needed to take a lot of photos to show it all. I was told they were open until 6pm but we got there at 5:15 and they were closed so we had to do the 24/7 pick up. I could not get it to work on my phone because Uhaul had set the pick up time for 7pm. It took several calls to uhaul to get it straighten out . It took over 45 min to do the 24/7 check out. Also we had to pay for extra miles.... we did not just drive to the drop off location we had to go to the house first then to drop it off. That is unfair!!! We went to the closes drop off location. Over all the truck was the right size but in poor condition and the extra charge was uncalled for.RICHELE F.

Reserved a larger truck at this location only to receive a phone call from corporate owned location in Albany informing me that I had to pick up much further away. And at a $1 a mile I wasn't going to pay and extra $30-$40 which is ridiculous. In addition to the 2 hours it would take me each way, cutting into my moving time. I changed the reservation back to this location. So glad I did. Very helpful and pleasant to deal with. Dealing with your Corporate office, not so good. Woman vas very rude, telling me that it the only way to get the larger truck and was only a 4 mile difference. Yes, that would be true if your truck was also a boat to cross the river.Jennifer L.

The location out of which they were working on this Saturday was accross the location where the address/GPS would take one to. As they answered the phone calls 50% of the time, there was small delay in locating the point of return of the truck. Offcourse the U-Haul signs were not seen in the first location, possibly because it is not the point for returning of the truck.Sunil P.

My original contract had to be re-done because of an accident. I was forced to go to another location to pick-up a trailer. That trailer should have been brought to me. THEN, I had to pick up the trailer a day earlier than contract because the facility was NOT open on my pick-up day (Saturday). Facility attempted to charge me an extra day. THEN found trailer had ant-infestation. I had to go to a third facility to swap for another trailer. That third facility was never contacted ahead of time, so was unaware of my coming. Facility operator was helpful after hearing my story.Joe A.

I rented a car hauler. I stated that if there was a delay that I might not be able to return during business hours. The dealer stated it wasn't a problem and that he would check in the trailer in the morning. Well, there WAS a delay and I returned after hours. This is a copy of the email from the dealer I found when I checked my mail later that night. I've removed his name and phone number. Hello "You rented the car trailer this morning from me. It was,supposed to be returned by 6pm today. The trailer has not been returned. Your new return date will be Friday by 5pm. You will also be charged for a second day for rental. I left a message on your cell phone about an hour,ago. Please feel free to call me up to 11pm tonight or reply to this,email UHAUL Dealer 51507" Short story - After reminding the dealer that he OK'd the after hours return I received an apology and I'm not being charged any additional fee. I should have never received an email like that in the first place. I'm undecided if I will return there.Randell N.

We requested a drop off site 10 buildings down from our move. We found out later that day that the drop off location was in an area we were not familiar with. Trying to find the place at night was very stressful. The building was not well lit up nor did it have any signs noticeable. If it weren't for the headlights catching the side of a UHaul truck, we would not have found the place. Very disappointed with the change in drop off location. I was told by a UHaul representative that our original drop off was full. The next day when we passed the original place, they only had 2 UHauls in their lot. Not happy with the change.JULIE H.

I had to go 60 miles out of my way to pick up the truck that I rented to pick up in Harrisonburg, VA. When I got there I was told that I had a 144 miles limit. Not enough to get back to Northern Virigina. The UPS employees on the 800 number were rude and not friendly at all. However, Lynette at the Corner Market was very nice and it was not her fault that UHaul sent me 60 miles out of my way. To improve: start with the folks on the 800 number - they do not need to be rude. Don't send customers 60 miles out their way!Shirley H.

This is primarialy a market, and it showed. I was told to park truck around back and after I did some fellow spoke with me rather shortly, telling me to move the truck somewhere else. The Computer system was down and didn't allow for closing out rental upon my return. Counter person said they'd check me in once system came back up and email me receipt, but instead I got an auto text from U-Haul the next day indicating an overdue rental. Called the facility and the counter help then on duty tried to close out my rental, but said he was not fully trained on system. He closed it out, but my email receipt showed they charged me for 2 extra days in error. Another call did get the additional charged reversed. It was the most convenient drop-off point (only 6 miles from my destination) but that's about all I can say. Based on its remote location, I'd use it again, if it suited my geographic needs.LAIRD R.

My experience was horrible. I went on line and got a confirmation for my move 4 weeks prior to the move. The truck was not at the location for me to pick up. I was told by a CS rep. that I would have to drive to Waynesboro or Appomattox Virginia to get a truck which is an hour's drive from my house. I had already made arrangements to have people available to help with loading/unloading and did not have a truck to load. As it turned out I had to drive to Monroe, VA a 30 minute drive to get the truck. I am not happy with the service I received, although once at that location and when we returned the truck to the Corner Market location both agents were extremely helpful and courteous.Betty W.

I would not use this location again, but would rather drive an hour to Lynchburg or Charlottesville to a better location. The proprietor was unprofessional and unfriendly. I was viewed as an interruption and scolded about where I had to park. And if you can believe this, the proprietor told me to unhook the trailer and make sure it was moved at the proper place. You have a real problem here. As I said, if I must use Uhaul again, and I do so every few years, I will not be going to the Shipman location, which is too bad, since it is about 6 miles from my house.Clark Z.

Clean the windshield of the truck! Was VERY VERY difficult to see driving during the night or even the day. Truck shuttered a lot while driving - kind of scary.
