This young man was very professional and nice. Very busy with Uhaul side of business; location is a vape shop in North Hollywood which may put off some people (esp smell can give you a headache) but he came outside and greeted us and offered to check in truck and send receipt so we didn't have to wait.

The building is not easy to find at first because there is no address numbering or uhaul signage. Once you see the obvious uhaul vehicles in the back you may still wonder where the entrance is. So something to improve that might be helpful

This was my first time using U-Haul and it was difficult to navigate. This location was very unspecific about where to pick up the keys. The name of the location was not listed on the building anywhere, so it was very confusing. When I finally found the building, the employee also told me to just fill the van back up, not warning me to only fill it to where the gauge was when I picked up the vehicle. So I ended up spending way more money on fuel than I should have. The vehicle was also filthy inside and very unacceptable. Overall not very happy.

Equipment rented not available - if we rented, we expect the equipment to be available. This should get fixed. Charge on purchase we did not make - Got an extra $14 charge with coverage charge that we did not make. Emailed 2 days ago, but still no response Pickup/Return process - agent was late when we were picking up the truck, and was just playing CoD (game) when we were returning. So, I was not able to even see my bills, but just left after returning the key. I wish there was a professional agent who showed the bill and walked through with it.

Never going with uhaul again. Made reservation for 8 hours from 730-330 on 8/30. Long story short my reservation was cancelled by uhaul. Was told by an associate to go to the North Hollywood uhaul as there was one truck there available. Went there, but they had no trucks. One associate there found and reserved me on truck at the Hollywood location. She told me that she signed on to their system and “guaranteed” me that there would be a truck reserved for me. Of course I go to to the Hollywood location only for their associate to tell me that they had to cancel my reservation and that the lady who helped me at the North Hollywood location was lying. Like what the hell is happening. Such an inconvenience and a waste of time. My friends and I will be using budget for now on

The trucks I rented were both a little dirty. I can't blame the young gentleman who was there operating the facility as he was the only one there. I would definitely recommend U-Haul do something about maintaining their trucks a little cleaner (especially in the era of Covid-19).

Everything was fine until I returned the vehicle and was charged over twice as much as I was quoted for the rental. I had the truck for 3 hours and was charged for 2 days plus charged for 50+ miles of usage on a 25 mile trip.... This is ridiculous and I plan on never using UHAUL services ever again unless they fix this. I called customer service and saw where I was overcharged and told me that uhaul has to investigate... For what? When obviously I didn't have the truck for two days and I showed the rep at the location that the metering amount was incorrect... Driving from the pickup location, to my place (I walked to pick up the truck), and to 3900 San Fernando Glendale, and back isnt 50+ miles. UHUAL clearly doesn't play fair and I gladly make it known if this isnt corrected.

Bad idea having U-Haul in a smoke shop. Bongs galore. You could get high just standing there. One of the workers reeked of cannabis and he came out of a car, in the parking lot, that was "cloudy with a chance of showers." The office was hotter inside than outside. They processed the vehicle from a computer and no printer. At checkout I had to wait 20 mins after the "inhaler" came back to help the new hire. The windshield was dirty and the lot too, not a good presentation.

The uhaul website allowed me to rent a truck at 9:30am despite the location not being open until 10am. They in no way stated that this location could not rent trucks starting at 10am only. Also, this location has no attendants affiliated with uhaul. There is a smoke shop, and the owner keeps the keys. The owner was 30min late (10:30am) at opening up the smoke shop so I didn't get to even take my rental truck off the lot until 1 hour and 15min into my rental, causing me to miss being able to pick up some of my items for which I required use of this truck. Secondly, when we opened the truck it was obvious it had not been cleaned or looked over since the last person rented it as there were used ziploc bags, a glasses case, and other various trash in the truck. If you are going to rent 24/7 uhaul reservations from this location, then you need to supply an outdoor lockbox for the truck's keys, so customers don't have to rely on an unreliable smoke shop store owner to hand them their keys.

The drop off location was behind a smoke shop even though it states the drop off location is at “smart life consulting”. There is no drop box for the truck key and you have to stick it into the mail slot of the smoke shop. This is unacceptable and after being on hold with customer service for an hour to verify what to do I will not be using uhaul again.

This is fucking bullshit, I reserve a truck for a one way down to OC and everything is set 4 days out. Then I get a call "oh we won't have any trucks at the original location like we said we would, but there's another close by are you okay picking your truck up there" I thought sure no biggie, same shit different place. I show up at 10, my reservation time. 30 minutes later the guy who's bringing my keys shows up and now I'm pissed. Then he tells me "oh we don't have any one way trucks, if you take this you'll have to bring it back" So then I had to move all my shit, drive an hour and a half to OC, unpack then turn around and drive another three hours round trip to drop the truck and pick up my car and come home. Overall this extra bullshit cost me $60 personally in gas as well as four hours I had planned to use to unpack. Then on top of all that bullshit, you add an extra $30 dollar charge onto my bill for a gallon and a half of gas THAT I WOULDN'T HAVE USED IF ID JUST GOTTEN THE FUCKING ONE WAY TRUCK I RESERVED. Needless to say I'm using budget for my next move, and I would like a refund for the ridiculous fees you've added plus the gas I had to pay for myself with the extra 140 miles of driving.

The drop-off was fine. The place is hard to find from the street and not particularly clean or inviting. But the guy working there was very friendly and helpful. I was able to drop the truck off without any problems.

This place is a shady Smoke Shop with Terrible customer service that took forever, dirty truck, didn't know where to return the keys because they never told us and they are charging us $70 when $21 was all that was agreed to. Absolutely awful experience.

I had a great experience with U-Haul van. The U-Haul representative Mike was friendly and cooperative throughout the process. He charged the exact amount on the bill. I would recommend this location.

First and foremost, the “Uhaul” agent is a random dude in a sketchy smoke shop. They handed me the keys and I walked out to a Van that was basically blocked in by other trucks. I ended up maneuvering out safely. I cleaned the steering wheel, buttons, blinker, etc with Lysol wipes and took off because I was in a rush. Upon return (same day), during my inspection a video for records, I noticed the previous driver (or one of them) was a smoker and the door pockets for storage were full of ask and grime. Although I wasn't charged for this, it was still unusual and showed the van hadn't been cleaned in a while. Extra concerning during the COVID-19 situation. Then when I went back inside to return the keys, I asked if I should go on my phone to check out or if there was any paperwork, the kid sad “Nope” and I walked out. Later in the day I happened to pull up the order via Uhaul.com and saw the order was still active and there were several things I was supposed to do upon return. I then called uhaul, explained and they told me the agent would call me to explain why it was still active. No call. So I called and Uhaul agent closed the order over the phone. Just an overall unprofessional and undesirable situation. Wouldn't reccomend, would suggest going to a different dealer.

This was the dirtiest U-Haul I have ever driven in. On my 60 mile trip I had a film of a literal dirt fly from the dashboard to my mouth to the point where I had to pull off the road by cleaning supplies and do it myself. I think the stoners at the weed shop that were in charge of the U-Haul, should definitely be looked at as maybe not good employees. Just saying it's worth looking into.

This place was incredibly sketchy- a bunch of Russians who worked in a glass pipe shop and had u haul trucks around back. And now I'm being charged additional fees for inaccurate measures!

It was a very strange experience. Firstly, I think this should be noted as a smoke shop because what if people have their families with them, but the person working there was so rude, did not make eye contact, was operating off a broken cell phone where he could only see half the screen. He was not helpful and charged me for the wrong order because I had made a reservation, canceled and made a second. Definitely worth driving a little further to the North Hollywood Uhaul next time.

Got overcharged for gas. I filled the gas up to the original amount I got with the truck with, and yet, I was still charged for it being under filled. The service is, to say the least, very unprofessional. I am never going to rent another uhaul from this location.

When I arrived, the U-haul I had ordered was not available even though I reserved it. Customer service was able to redirect me to a different location but it pushed me back an hour or more. Pretty upset that my reservation wasn't reserved.

I tried using the app and taking out the vehicle was a breeze but unfortunately returning it, I almost got charged $89 instead of $19.99 which I was quoted. Luckily there was an attendant there who was very nice and was able to check it out manually. I don't know why the app did that. It wasted a fair bit of time as I took photos, etc.

First off I rented a two wheeled hand truck. They only had one and it converted so you could take the handle off and lay it down and put more boxes on it. When the guy gave it to me the handle didn't have a bolt in it so the handle wouldn't come out while in use. He said there was a wire on it to put in the hole to hold it. Really? Safety? Like an idiot I tried the wire. Because of that I dumped one of my loads. Next when it was time to get the truck at first he didn't want to go out there and show it to me. I walked around the truck and nothing was to major, actually it was a nice looking truck. He didn't tell me about doing the walk around on my phone, when I was getting ready to leave I saw the email telling me what to do. When I got into the truck it smelled like stale cigarettes. I just thought the last person was driving was a smoker and the smell would go away when I opened the window while driving. My mistake. When I got the truck to my house I noticed an ashtray and it was filled. I'm sure that's why by the time I got home I had a headache. I had to clean it out and spray lysol to get rid of the smell. I think you really need to adjust where you have trucks. This place is where you have trucks sells drug paraphernalia. All in all the truck was nice, drove nice and I'm still glad I rented from UHaul.

Back of truck must have been previously used to haul plants, etc. Was a fair amount of dirt that needed to be swept out. Also, the truck exterior appeared to be in need of a good wash.

The Location was very difficult to enter/exit. The representative was rude, unfriendly and not helpful!! He was More interested in selling drugs than serving the paying customer directly in front of him. It Should be stated that this particular UHaul is a Head Shop. The passenger-side door was not properly installed after the accident. It leaked air at the top of the door jam for the whole trip. Very Annoying!!!

The cost I rented a u haul for 19.95 from North Hollywood CA moved to canyon country 22miles drop it off in canyon country total cost was 130.30 that's a little to high in my opinion

The only way I found this place was the simple fact that there were 2 other U-Haul Trucks parked there in a small, dark alley (didn't feel safe). I was looking for "Smart Life Consulting Inc" as instructed - it does not exist. The address was on the front door, but it was opened so I couldn't see 5028 anywhere until I went inside and looked at the door. 5028 is the "Urban Smoke Shop" and it is filled with pipes and bongs with a lone employee that was either too stoned or simply too lethargic to get out of his chair and help. After much confusion I asked him about dropping off a U-Haul truck - his only response was "Put the key on the counter." I asked about Smart Life Consulting Inc and all he said was "It's fine. Just leave the key." I expressed my concern that it is parked in a dark alley and that the back was unlocked with a dolly and blankets. Again, all I got was "It's fine." I asked for a business card. "Don't have one." He was unfriendly, wouldn't get out of his chair and seemed bothered that he had to look up from his laptop computer to answer my questions. * This is who is representing your business? Wow.

I reserved a 15' truck and an appliance dolly two weeks in advance. I call the day before and Uhaul confirms everything. I arrive and they don't have any dolly's at all. I had to go to a different location to get it. Big hassle.

I'd made the reservation to pick up the truck at 8:00 am one and a half weeks before my moving date. Day before I got a message from uhaul telling me that the had change the location a d the time of pick up because I need it an applience dolly and I was going to get it only at 10:00 am at this new location. I went to this new location at 10:00 am and I see a note on the door saying that they were going to open in 35 more minutes. Suddenlly a car pull inside the uhaul telling me that he doesn't work there but he is the owners friend and know how to do the reservation pick up, this was @ 10:15 am. When he was doing all the paperwork in his comp for the pick up I asked him about the dolly and he said to me that they don't have any for me. I was really up set because they change my original pick up reservation cause of the dolly so he call another location and ask for the dolly for me and I had to drive to another location to pick it up. WHAT A WAIST OF TIME. BAD SERVICES. They did sich a bad job even the regional superviser gabe me a $50 dollar back in my credit card. I think the I deserve more that that. It was a moving from Reseda San Fernando Valley to Bakersfield and finishing very late @ night because the 3 and half hours I'd waisted to pick up the Truck.

The location I went to was great. However, EVERYTHING about your corporate "support" was total horse shit. You guys fucked up in every way possible, thank GOD that the people at the unaffiliated franchise were able to help me after you guys nearly ruined the entire ordeal. I sent you a novel of an email about it early Saturday morning, and I've gotten two of these bullshit email-based survey requests, but not a single response to my email. Y'all disgust me. Your corporate representatives promised me a discount for how bad the service was. I recorded it. I'm waiting for my discount, and you guys would be smart to respond to my email.

My only comment would be that when you have two people working in the shop, if the customer appears to be in a major hurry, one of the customer service representatives could start the process of returning the truck while the other customer service representative is finishing with the other customer. Returning the truck should be a smooth and quick process but in this case it took almost 30 minutes just to get it returned after waiting in line for 20 minutes. I know that that might not seem like a long time but on this particular day it caused a major delay in the next steps to moving.

I just check my account and will be disputing this charge with my bank! I ordered a van with a furniture dolly and mattress bag/cover neither did they have! I was given furniture pads and a appliance dolly both which I declined! The vans rear doors opened as I was driving down Vineland Blvd almost causing an accident. I was told I would be charged an extra fee it I did not return the Van to the location in which I picked it up so I drove it back instead of dropping it off close to where I moved. I drove the van for a total of 22 miles and was charged almost $200.00! I filled the van with gas before returning it! This location should be shut down for how unprofessional this experience was not to mention it was a smoke shop and they were all high!

i Reserved this vehicle well in advance, at least 6 days. I was set to pick it up at at 7 AM on Sunday morning for 4 hours. The night before my pickup, i get a call from U-Haul, informing me that the location manager is not able to fulfill my request, and that I will have to pick it up at 9 AM. They tell me that the office was informed only a bit, and that they never confirmed until after closing hours; they forgot to put the keys/supplies in the lock box. Despite this crunch, and the fact that I had planned to be finished by 11, on a tight deadline, I decided to try and accomplish this feat, as moving during the weekday would have been worse. The next morning, we arrive early. Despite having reserved a dolly, he informa me that he doesn't have any. Despite this, we get the car and are able to start moving. While moving, we tried at least 5 times to call the manager to ask if we could extend our time, knowing that we would be pressed. He didn't pick up once. We arrive back at the Smoke shop, unable to fill up on gas. Despite telling him that we were pressed for time, he ignores our claims and charges us more than double the estimate. I was so pissed off the night before, having to change my schedule and knowing that I was under a tight schedule, and was even more angry at the level of unprofessional attitude this car handler had. Why on earth is this business allowed to distribute U-Haul's? The manager is never available, clearly does not care, and ignores basic responsibilities. To U-Haul management, please don't recommend this location; it was the first one I was given as a choice. I don't understand why you chose to let another business also run a u-haul business.

Showed up at my scheduled time and had to wait around 15 minutes while rep Hamet tried to pull my order up. He was not pleasant and seemed genuinely not happy to be working. Since he seemed to have no idea what to do, I suggested he call uhaul IT and turned out the site was down and he needed to use his phone for check in. I had added 6 furniture pads last minute and he went ahead and charged me the $5 for them BEFORE checking if he had any and turns out he was out, but he couldn't refund me because my card already had the hold on it, so my refund would come after 5 days. He begrudgingly extended my rental from 4 hours to 24 hours since it took so long to finish the check in. He wanted to just hand me the keys but I insisted he do the walk around. I came back just over 4 hours later to return the van and he wasn't there but there was a note on the door that said call. I called he said just leave the keys in the van to which I insisted he do the check in in person. He said he would be there in 10 mins which turned into 20 and another person showed up to drop off. I called again and he showed up 5 mins later and didn't want to do the check in. I said I'd wait till he did the walk around and he finally did it. I asked numerous times about the refund for the furniture pads and he said he would put it in when the system was up. He never did and I never got my $5 refund-at this point it's just the principle of it since I'll never use that location again.
