The only way I found this place was the simple fact that there were 2 other U-Haul Trucks parked there in a small, dark alley (didn't feel safe). I was looking for "Smart Life Consulting Inc" as instructed - it does not exist. The address was on the front door, but it was opened so I couldn't see 5028 anywhere until I went inside and looked at the door. 5028 is the "Urban Smoke Shop" and it is filled with pipes and bongs with a lone employee that was either too stoned or simply too lethargic to get out of his chair and help. After much confusion I asked him about dropping off a U-Haul truck - his only response was "Put the key on the counter." I asked about Smart Life Consulting Inc and all he said was "It's fine. Just leave the key." I expressed my concern that it is parked in a dark alley and that the back was unlocked with a dolly and blankets. Again, all I got was "It's fine." I asked for a business card. "Don't have one." He was unfriendly, wouldn't get out of his chair and seemed bothered that he had to look up from his laptop computer to answer my questions. * This is who is representing your business? Wow.

I reserved a 15’ truck and an appliance dolly two weeks in advance. I call the day before and Uhaul confirms everything. I arrive and they don’t have any dolly’s at all. I had to go to a different location to get it. Big hassle.

I'd made the reservation to pick up the truck at 8:00 am one and a half weeks before my moving date. Day before I got a message from uhaul telling me that the had change the location a d the time of pick up because I need it an applience dolly and I was going to get it only at 10:00 am at this new location. I went to this new location at 10:00 am and I see a note on the door saying that they were going to open in 35 more minutes. Suddenlly a car pull inside the uhaul telling me that he doesn't work there but he is the owners friend and know how to do the reservation pick up, this was @ 10:15 am. When he was doing all the paperwork in his comp for the pick up I asked him about the dolly and he said to me that they don't have any for me. I was really up set because they change my original pick up reservation cause of the dolly so he call another location and ask for the dolly for me and I had to drive to another location to pick it up. WHAT A WAIST OF TIME. BAD SERVICES. They did sich a bad job even the regional superviser gabe me a $50 dollar back in my credit card. I think the I deserve more that that. It was a moving from Reseda San Fernando Valley to Bakersfield and finishing very late @ night because the 3 and half hours I'd waisted to pick up the Truck.

The location I went to was great. However, EVERYTHING about your corporate "support" was total horse shit. You guys fucked up in every way possible, thank GOD that the people at the unaffiliated franchise were able to help me after you guys nearly ruined the entire ordeal. I sent you a novel of an email about it early Saturday morning, and I've gotten two of these bullshit email-based survey requests, but not a single response to my email. Y'all disgust me. Your corporate representatives promised me a discount for how bad the service was. I recorded it. I'm waiting for my discount, and you guys would be smart to respond to my email.

My only comment would be that when you have two people working in the shop, if the customer appears to be in a major hurry, one of the customer service representatives could start the process of returning the truck while the other customer service representative is finishing with the other customer. Returning the truck should be a smooth and quick process but in this case it took almost 30 minutes just to get it returned after waiting in line for 20 minutes. I know that that might not seem like a long time but on this particular day it caused a major delay in the next steps to moving.

I just check my account and will be disputing this charge with my bank! I ordered a van with a furniture dolly and mattress bag/cover neither did they have! I was given furniture pads and a appliance dolly both which I declined! The vans rear doors opened as I was driving down Vineland Blvd almost causing an accident. I was told I would be charged an extra fee it I did not return the Van to the location in which I picked it up so I drove it back instead of dropping it off close to where I moved. I drove the van for a total of 22 miles and was charged almost $200.00! I filled the van with gas before returning it! This location should be shut down for how unprofessional this experience was not to mention it was a smoke shop and they were all high!

Vehicle was fine, got lucky a van was available because I didn't make a reservation but the service was awful. It's been a while since I've had such a bad service experience.

Customer service was terrible. I did precheck in and none of the information was actually there. So the additional driver was not added to the vehicle, therefore was unable to assist with the driving.

i Reserved this vehicle well in advance, at least 6 days. I was set to pick it up at at 7 AM on Sunday morning for 4 hours. The night before my pickup, i get a call from U-Haul, informing me that the location manager is not able to fulfill my request, and that I will have to pick it up at 9 AM. They tell me that the office was informed only a bit, and that they never confirmed until after closing hours; they forgot to put the keys/supplies in the lock box. Despite this crunch, and the fact that I had planned to be finished by 11, on a tight deadline, I decided to try and accomplish this feat, as moving during the weekday would have been worse. The next morning, we arrive early. Despite having reserved a dolly, he informa me that he doesn’t have any. Despite this, we get the car and are able to start moving. While moving, we tried at least 5 times to call the manager to ask if we could extend our time, knowing that we would be pressed. He didn’t pick up once. We arrive back at the Smoke shop, unable to fill up on gas. Despite telling him that we were pressed for time, he ignores our claims and charges us more than double the estimate. I was so pissed off the night before, having to change my schedule and knowing that I was under a tight schedule, and was even more angry at the level of unprofessional attitude this car handler had. Why on earth is this business allowed to distribute U-Haul’s? The manager is never available, clearly does not care, and ignores basic responsibilities. To U-Haul management, please don’t recommend this location; it was the first one I was given as a choice. I don’t understand why you chose to let another business also run a u-haul business.

Showed up at my scheduled time and had to wait around 15 minutes while rep Hamet tried to pull my order up. He was not pleasant and seemed genuinely not happy to be working. Since he seemed to have no idea what to do, I suggested he call uhaul IT and turned out the site was down and he needed to use his phone for check in. I had added 6 furniture pads last minute and he went ahead and charged me the $5 for them BEFORE checking if he had any and turns out he was out, but he couldn’t refund me because my card already had the hold on it, so my refund would come after 5 days. He begrudgingly extended my rental from 4 hours to 24 hours since it took so long to finish the check in. He wanted to just hand me the keys but I insisted he do the walk around. I came back just over 4 hours later to return the van and he wasn’t there but there was a note on the door that said call. I called he said just leave the keys in the van to which I insisted he do the check in in person. He said he would be there in 10 mins which turned into 20 and another person showed up to drop off. I called again and he showed up 5 mins later and didn’t want to do the check in. I said I’d wait till he did the walk around and he finally did it. I asked numerous times about the refund for the furniture pads and he said he would put it in when the system was up. He never did and I never got my $5 refund-at this point it’s just the principle of it since I’ll never use that location again.

Was totally shocked to see that U-haul allowed a Drug and sex paraphernalia shop to be used as a pick location. I felt uncomfortable to be in the shop. Considering there was pornagrahic bongs behind the computer used to check out truck. In addition, the worker didn’t know how to speak English very well, and didn’t know how to enter my reservation number or name into the uhual program. He even turned the laptop towards me to help him fill it out. It took over 40 min to get truck Keyes. The entire time I was feeling upset. Because I needed the truck to move because I already had paid for people to help me move. But I was tempered to walk away from this location without the truck. Also the truck was 3/8th of tank. I had to get gas with in 5 min of renting truck. Very disappointed. Will look to rent from another company in the future.

Please refund me for the $10 fee for blankets. The blankets did not come with the truck. I felt rushed to get off the lot at the start of my window, and when I complained to the location manager he said I was supposed to tell him at pick up.

This "location" is a terrible representation of your brand. This is a shady, hookah/smoke room business that has a small parking lot with a few vehicles. They have no U-Haul branding and only one small paper sign hanging on their parking gate. I felt unsafe. They spoke Russian, were smoking cigarettes, the "office" was a complete mess of "deliveries." Had I known I was being sent to this type of location I never would have gone. I did not feel comfortable being a woman alone with these men. Please check out your independent contractors. Thanks to Kelly on your customer service line who refunded me some of the money for the gas they were charging me. These guys are not real U Haul guys and are attempting to run some type of other business. YUCK!!!!! Will never book with you online again so I am aware of the location I'm going to first.

This location should not have been open to the public yet. The office is a vape shop that recently went out of business and is in the process of being remodeled. Other than the trucks, nothing even said uhaul on it yet. The employee was late and dressed in plain clothes and spoke broken English so it took a few minutes just to ascertain he was actually the person I should be speaking to. My reservation did not show up and I had to start a new reservation from scratch. I learned a few minutes later that this occurred due to the employee being late and another location had moved all his morning reservations to a different location. I had to cancel my original reservation and then the person in the other office asked ME to relay to the employee I was working with that they had been trying to reach him all morning. This felt like a new startup from the local community college, Which as far as I can tell, uhaul is not. But who knows, maybe this is the new uhaul. Uhaul 2.0 - made by millennials for millennials. To top it off (no pun intended) I was charged $11 extra for gas even though I brought the truck back with more gas than it had when in left with it. But with no proof of the original gauge reading, all I could do was hand over my money. This will likely be the last time I rent a uhaul truck.

The customer service was awful! The guy in the office was Not nice with us! When we came back he was not on the place! We didn’t know where to put the key! He didn’t answer the phone. He did a wrong count of gas in the car! He charged me extra $15 for the gas, but the gas on moment of the return and the moment pick upping was The same!

This place should on NO uncertain terms be shut down, and the two employees fired. this was the worst experience with UHAUL EVER. - inside looked like a vacant room, with empty shelving and display cases, no branding, and literally a card table set up with a computer and printer on top, and the front door was locked, so had to go around to the side. Incredibly shady and off-putting - employees were clearly high - made a reservation ahead of time for a 10' truck, furniture dolly, and furniture pads. Was told upon arrival that they didn't have the pads or dolly, with no apologies / options / assistance just told "we don't have those here". We had to BUY a dolly and pads from a hardware store for the move. - customers who came in after us (after hearing that they didn't stock dollies) were told that they specifically called their location for an appliance dolly and were told that there was one for pickup ready. They were also told that their truck was rented to someone else. - we were handed keys, and pointed to the car. When I asked for the car to be pulled out (as it was wedged into an incredibly tight spot), the employee rolled his eyes, and moved the car (after making a 20 point turn just to get out of the spot). - no walkthrough was offered, and the manager laughed when we asked for one, and said "yeah, you should do that. take pictures yourself." and then lit up a cigarette and began speaking with the other employee in a foreign language. I would rather drive miles out of my way than ever go to this location. Absolutely terrible and unparalleled in poor experience.
