The employee who collected our keys did not check anything with us. She told us the person who does check ins for Uhaul was out at the moment, but they would call if there were any issues. Today I received a charge for $14.02 for gas. My husband and I were told to refill the gas to the same place it was when we picked the vehicle up in Springfield, VA. We did this, but were still charged a fee to fill the remainder of the tank. This does not seem reasonable especially considering we put our own money into the gas tank before returning the truck.Sean F.

Tried to reach the center on a few occasions, the number is a personal cell phone and they asked me to call back the next day because they did not have the files at home. This was at approximately 6:30pm. Tried calling on Saturday morning (was told to call after 8:30) phone rang forever and no answer. Attempted to reach someone on 5/12 to ask why I have 2 charges on my debit card and the young lady informed me she could not help me but she would have her manager call me. I'm still waitingDeanna W.

Returned uhaul truck with exactly 3/8 of a tank as indicated on my contract. Returned truck after hours. Return location indicated that truck only had 1/4 of a tank, so we got charged an extra $13. Dishonest behavior, will not use location ever again.Halley B.

Start telling your customers your policy rules and not blindside them with an extra $27.61 "cleaning fee" call the customer and let them know whats going on. If a customer is not aware of the rules how can they know what to do or not to do Had i known that mud from the ground couldnt be in van i wouldve cleaned it out and wiped it down and did what i had to do to not have a extra 27.61 taken outta my damn bank!!!!Paulette T.

Made the reservation on line; called the day before to be sure Cargo Van reservation was in tact; went and picked up the van a few minutes early; moved what I needed; returned the van, paid and left. Everyone was most helpful and kind... Excellent service and good pricing.Judy Q.

We are frequent tow dolly renters. This is our 4th dolly rental. Our most recent just 2 1/2 months ago. And have never paid this much. It was MORE than double the cost, $355!!! And milage/days were the same. We were never told the pice. Didn't find out until we did online check in. By that time we couldn't get it changed. Thought they would rectify it when they knew we only needed it 1 day. And they put in the wrong return location. We are frequent RVers and will NEVER rent from uhaul again. And will put on all our social media groups how much you price gouged, and tried justifying it based on renting fron the state of VA, traveling to VT. Which is ridiculously BS and wrong. We rented a truck and dolly from VT to FL and paid about the same $. So renting just a dolly, going less than 1/2 the miles and paying just about the same is very wrong. When we asked for a partial refund, told no. Its what it is. You just lost faithful renters due to your price gouging greed.Gina R.

Wasnt aware that the gentleman that waiting on me had also been discussing my back side until my children told me afterwards. Was not a comfortable interaction at all and he was quite close at a couple points which I found alarming especially during these times. Would never go back there again or recommend this spot as a pick up!!!Lisa M.

I attempted to use the mobile app only to maximize social distancing but I still had to interact with someone at the location. It would have been easier if I could have just gotten the keys from a pad lock. Also, I paid for blankets but there weren't any in the vehicle. Lastly, if I am going to give you a picture of my face, you should mandate taking photos of the vehicle before taking it. I have never really needed the use of these services before, and I hope not to again.Marcos M.

It sucked it cost me 130.plus for 5 hours. I could had rented a truck from enterprise and kept it for the hold day for around 80.00. I will never rent from uhaul again. I really couldn't afford this but I wasn't told about the .89 cent a mile. So now I had to let a bill go because of the price I paid to rent from ur for 5 hours.PATRICIALEIGH G.

This is the third time I've used UHaul in the past year... Each time I reserve a vehicle, I get a call the night before pick up telling me the size is not available. There is a serious disconnect between the website reservations process and the inventory at your locations.Joseph P.

We experienced bad business at U Haul in Orange, Virginia 22960. We were parked in a fire lane in front of our condo when we opened and closed the drivers door and the side mirror fell off. There was no one parked near us at all. We were told that we hit something when we didn't and were charged for the damage. We are honest people whither you all aren't. It wasn't our responsibility to pay for the damage and we feel like we need to be refunded the money back for the damage cost. If you all are honest you would do that, but you all just might have lost a good customer over bad business from you all. I have always heard U Haul was good, but starting to think differently now.Brenda D.

Keep your rates steady, let the rate quote be available without making a reservation, and once a customer is in your system don't make them continue to go through the tedious check in process over and over for additional equipment. I was told â€œsupply and demandâ€ was the cause of a $700 rate for a 6x12 trailer (when I already had a truck rental for about $500!!). The result was renting a 5x8 and not having room for all my stuff.Edgar A.

Uhaul customer service told me they had a 10 foot truck and they only had a 15. I was driving from VA to NC so that is a considerable difference in gas consumption and the location would not rent it at the price of a ten foot. This was the second location I had a reservation at so I needed the truck then. I had no choice but to pay the difference and take the 15 foot. Then the truck had 3/4 of a tank in it (I double-checked when I got in) and the computer said 15/18. The return location had to charge me a surcharge for the fuel because their computer was not up to date on the fuel amount. He mentioned several times there was 3/4 of a tank. We both had checked it. I was not satisfied with Uhaul or this location.Caroline R.

The people at the location were fine but the U-haul leasing process needs an over haul. My daughter called customer service to make a change less than 4 mins after she made the reservation. She was transferred 3 times and told each time she needed to speak with a different person. The last person made notations for the change she wanted but said my daughter still needed to call a different number the next morning to have the changes made. Also, though my daughter elected to complete the rental on her phone, she went into the store location to complete the transaction to speed up process. The lady at the store had issues completing the transactions as the U-haul system was not recognizing the steps she took. After about 15 - 20 mins, the process finally completed. I rented unit, and when I showed up was told that rental had been cancelled and if I wanted truck, I had to bring it back by 9 that day, losing ability to take broken file cabinets to recycling. Now will borrow utility trailer for cabinets, which I could have done and saved rental fee. Lame.Richard W.

Unique to chic was great especially the Kathleen Ayers who went out of her way to fix the major screw up of Uhaul. You should not advertise calling 1-800-Go-U-Haul since they are one big cluster f%$#! They do not know what the computer is reading and they are incorrect in scheduling. I had to reschedule 3 times in one week and i was still wrong. Kathleen fixed it and I think it was a cost to her. Her company is too professional to be working with Uhaul. And Uhaul is too big of a company to be that incompetent and unprofessional. I will start using other companies like Penske going forward. Nobody can be as bad as Uhaul.Fernando D.

When we got the trailer home we noticed one tire was low on air. We pumped it up only for it to go flat later in the day. Upon inspection my husband found a nail in the the tire and fixed it himself since the UHaul location was closed by then. We had told the gal where we wanted to return the trailer but she put in another location causing a long phone call to UHaul when we took it back to the location we had ask to return it.
