This caused for me to cancel my truck reservation. Upon looking online there was one available. So then had to re reserve the truck and reserve the storage unit online……

BILLIE C | Overall ExperienceI rented a trailer to move stuff from Florida to Iowa. I reserved a locker at uhaul in Ames, Iowa. Upon arriving in Ames i went to uhaul to get locker. I was told by the manager that the computer showed i had rented a locker on second floor. I told the manager i had chosen a locker on first floor. Manager said there were no lockers available and there was a waiting list for them. I asked why it showed a locker available and he avoided answering the question. I requested his supervisor and he said number was on the door. I called and talked to the manager of Iowa and she avoided saying anything on the question of why it showed a locker available on 1st floor but website put me on 2nd floor climate control unit. All she would say was that I had chose that locker. When I had chose the ground locker I confirmed it was in the cart. I told the site manager and his supervisor that I had chosen the ground floor unit because I was recovering from a shattered left shoulder, and was still in physical therapy and I had thrown my back out loading the trailer. It made no difference to them. All they would say is the computer says you chose 2nd floor climate controlled locker. Where is customer service and caring for a customer?? All I got was a non-caring attitude. So I have learned that uhaul only cares about the money in your pocket. As of this point I will not recommend uhaul to anybody for the way this was handled. The only reason I took the locker was I had to store the stuff in the trailer so I wouldn’t have to pay extra on trailer and that the locker was free for a month. Sam Smith 515-290-1857
