The reasons for a 2 Star rating; 1- a manual freight elevator is very inconvenient (an older or physically challenged person couldn't raise and lower those doors) And besides the straps, the doors are so slick that there's no where to grab the door if it bounces off the closed position. 2- There are no internal stairs. 3- I wasn't instructed on the fickle operation of the door straps until after I ended up disabling the elevator thus I ended up trapped on the 2nd floor with no way to get down. The fire exit doors were my only option to escape. The warnings on those doors are very threatening about charging the customer. 4- Before using the fire doors I tried on 2 seperate call boxes and no one ever answered!! 5- There should be clearer instructions regarding the freight doors operation, especially regarding the strap placement. I explained all these grievances when I was done to Abi Sandoval, she was very attentive and noted some details on my account regarding the fire door use and not to be charged. U-Haul needs to have at least one internal stair well in case the elevator becomes in-op, signage would help quite a bit and modernizing the freight elevator may be expensive but it would greatly improve the customer experience and whoever is supposed to be answering the "MAX" call boxes, should be reprimanded or fired! I tried the call boxes a total of 3 times and never got an answer, just ringing! That's completely unacceptable. In case of a severe emergency, U-Haul would have a major law suit on there hands. Do better!
