Too expensive!
LAURI K | Overall ExperienceAbsolutely unacceptable. I trusted U-Haul to safeguard my belongings, and instead I was left dealing with one of the most frustrating customer service experiences I’ve ever had. I received a certified notice stating my unit would be auctioned on July 13 unless I paid the outstanding balance. I paid the entire $509 balance online on June 30—roughly two weeks before the scheduled auction. My payment was accepted, my account showed my unit was current, and I had every reason to believe my belongings were protected. Instead, I was left fighting for answers and trying to understand how this could happen after I had already paid exactly what U-Haul demanded. The lack of communication, accountability, and urgency has been beyond disappointing. A storage company has one job: protect its customers’ property and accurately manage their accounts. When a customer pays the full balance before the auction date, there should be no confusion, no excuses, and no failure to properly handle the account. I have spent countless hours trying to resolve this issue, gathering documentation, and pursuing answers that should have been provided from the beginning. No customer should have to go through this. If you’re considering storing your belongings here, keep every receipt, every email, every notice, and screenshots of your account. You may need them. I expected professionalism and accountability. Instead, I experienced poor communication and a complete lack of confidence that my property was being handled properly.

Throughout the years I stored there, the hours were all over the place and that made it very inconvenient. Plus they were never accurately posted online or on the building or anywhere really...

The facility was chronically understaffed and the U-Haul phone system makes communication very inconvenient from a customer viewpoint. Given these shortcomings and the higher rental fees I am going back to a local vendor. Your physical plant is excellent, your corporate style of management doesn’t fit with the Fairbanks sensibility. I wasted a lot of time and expense dealing with trivial issues.
