There was a Crack in the foundation which let to the loss of my belongings of which were destroyed and had to go to the dump. Didn't find the Crack till I was cleaning out the storage unit and nothing could be done about it.
DAVID R | Overall ExperienceThis is the best storage facility in this town, hands down. I have dealt with most of them here by being in the storage unit buying marked. Definitely no better customer service and friendly home town feel from the staff. Very competitive prices on their storage units as well as trucks, vans and trailers. Had to rent a few of those and I have to tell you that everytime I did it was from a different member of their very consistent staff and they were all very knowledgeable about what equipment they had there and all the specifics. Top notch, no hassle, friendly small town hospitality!
michael c | Overall ExperienceMy belongings were inaccessible for more than two months this winter and the staff refused to clear it for. The lights on that end of the yard do NOT work. The gate for the facility was open more than closed for the entire winter. The College road manage River has been ignoring me every time I or my partner tried to reach out for help. I missed my father's funeral because I couldn't fly without my documents in the storage unit!!!!!!!!! I'm absolutely LIVID at the horrible service! I would NEVER reccomend storage through UHaul in Fairbanks Alaska. I requested a refund for the two months I spent requesting access and being ignored, shock of all shocks, I'M IGNORED!!!!! Diane H | Overall ExperienceThey let me reserve a unit that was non existent, then they give me the option of a 5 x 5 or a 10 x 20 and i need the exact dimensions of a 9 x 10 x 8, but that was unavailable. then when i finally get my new storage unit the 10 x 20, it’s absolutely trashed. I payed $40 more for a mess to clean up.

I reserved a 5x5 unit, and when I arrived I was told there were none available and the next smallest size that was available was $30 more. The unhelpful staff member was obviously stoned and talked to me in a slow monotone voice that betrayed his feeling of hating his job. I would hate it too if I worked there. When I arrived at the storage facility, it was in terrible condition and complete disarray. The gate was completely open and obviously damaged in a way that would not let it close, leaving it open to the public 24/7. My storage unit was half carpeted and completely unclean. The building it was in was dilapidated. The door latch was attached with a piece of 2x4 that could easily be pried off. I do not feel like my possessions are safe at all.

I made a reservation (Confirmation #[redacted]3689) for a storage unit at the advertised rate of $39.95 per month. However, when I arrived at the customer service location to check in—as required—I was informed that the unit I had reserved was not available. I was instead told that I would need to rent a different unit at $89.95 per month, more than double the rate I had reserved. This situation feels like a bait-and-switch: I made a good-faith reservation at the advertised price, only to be told upon arrival that the promised unit was unavailable and that I would have to pay significantly more. This is both frustrating and unacceptable. I am requesting that U-Haul honor the original reservation rate of $39.95 per month or offer a comparable remedy. I believe this is a fair and reasonable resolution given the circumstances and U-Haul’s stated policy of honoring reservations. Please let me know how you intend to resolve this issue. Mark N | Overall ExperienceUpon moving in there was two inches of ice in our unit. We spent an hour chipping out the ice. We put boards down and had Water as things melted, but otherwise nothing else happened after the snow and ice melted.
