RODERICK B | First ImpressionsLots of my items were destroyed by mice. There were mice feces everywhere. I’ve asked for help cleaning and was told that I needed to clean it myself. I should have gotten insurance. I asked after one year, they said clean the mice feces first and then insurance will be applied. This was a 5 year process.

MILDRED R | First ImpressionsOut of the 4 employees I interacted with only 1 was friendly and helpful. The woman that 'began' helping me with the storage unit paperwork was curt and dismissive. The gentleman that did the majority of the paperwork was very polite, professional and helpful. There were numerous employees sitting at the desk, socializing and distracting the 2 working employees. 1 employee outside was snarky and rude. Then had the nerve to comment on the dirt on my car and tell me he also details cars. (I had just driven 30+ hours from Texas - yes, my car was dirty) The equipment check-in process made no sense. The online instructions said to unhook the chains, take pictures and take the equipment off the hitch. This 5'2", 120 lb female can not lift the trailer off. I asked the gentleman that came outside to acknowledge I was there said I needed to drive the trailer to another lot. Why would the instructions be to take it off the hitch if the equipment return section was only an acknowledgement area? He said if i could lift the equipment off the hitch I could leave it at the equipment renturn section but if I wanted his help I'd have to drive to the other lot. He was initially rude but once he met me at the actual return area he was much less rude. The storage unit is supposed to be climate controlled. While it was cooler on the 1st floor, the 2nd floor was very warm. The customer areas could definitely use a refresh and an upgrade on the HVAC.

Ahmed S | Overall ExperienceI moved out last week after staying far longer than I should have. The time I spent there my belongings got covered in mice feces and urine. I've found dead cockroaches on the floor in the past also. Also, I don't like sharing my credit card information so I was going up monthly and paying my bill. I never intended to have U-haul save my credit card information. Later, U-haul took my credit card and started automatic payments without my permission. No request asked of me to do this they just somehow got my bank to begin this without my pemission.
DAVID K | Overall ExperienceLots of rat droppings. It was so bad I had to throw away a queen size mattress no compensation was given. Manager wasn’t available. Even though the staff was helpful, I still had issues. They were able to stop my auto and advised me to contact corporate to try and have the fee waived since I would only be using 2 days out of the month. My $170 monthly auto payment usually came out on the 16th but I couldn’t get movers to get my storage out until 6/18/25. I had been paying on time for over 2 years. Manager told me that corporate could only waive the fee but he told me if I didn’t pay another lock would be put on my unit on the 18th, the day I was moving out, and would not waive the fee as a courtesy. He basically threatened me by saying I wouldn’t be able to access my storage unit in the 18th unless I paid the full month, so I did. He told me corporate could only do that and when I contacted corporate they told me the manager could waive it if he chose to. He just didn’t want to help me. I tried to speak to him in person but staff said he was unavailable and was breaking locks to about 90 unpaid storage units. I was a good standing loyal customer for years never missed a payment and I just feel super slighted and ripped off for having to pay. Some staff told me corporate would do it the manager told me corporate might but most likely wouldn’t and I felt like I was getting the run around. Over all it was a horrible experience getting my items with rat droppings all over the place and I’m out $170.
