My unit was rat infested my queen size mattress deep freezer washer dryer my granny’s cedar chest I had things that are irreplaceable I’m not taking anything to my new place that rats been chewing pissing and pooped on. Due to lack of communication from multiple parties, I was unfortunately charged an additional month of rent when I was promised the first month free with a one way truck rental. You can imagine the distressing mess this created during an interstate move. I would caution anyone who is considering using Uhaul for truck rental and storage; save yourself the headache and use a different storage facility or read the fine print with a lawyer present before signing anything. The manager and staff at this facility were helpful but powerless to honor this promotion as they are simply pawns in U-Haul’s corporate structure.

Trying to get a unit at this location was unequivocally the worst customer service experience of my life. As a business owner, I honestly still can’t believe what happened. It took over an hour to find someone on the property when I arrived to check in for my new unit. After calling the number on the front door of the office, I found out it transfers you to another location who can’t even help you. Finally someone showed up at the office, and after 35min I had a unit - but nobody knew where it was…no map was provided and I was told to read the numbers on the units. Once I found my unit, I realized it was locked and someone was already using it. For over an hour we tried to find someone to help get us a different unit. Nobody was there. We walked all over the property and called all the numbers available to us - nobody answered and nobody was there. After 3 hours of just trying to get a storage unit, I called U-Haul corporate and cancelled the unit. She was actually helpful. I will never rent a storage unit with you all, and will use Penske trucks from now on. Absolutely awful experience.

There is no one at this location, which is fine if it is a “remote location” but that needs to be made clear from the second you choose to store things here. The girl (jessica h) on the phone when i called the “main” willow lawn location was extremely rude and acted as though it was my fault there were no signs and clearly poor management happening. After getting to my unit there was no lock which was meant to be provided. Again since no one was there I was left to call back the lovely Jessica H who informed me if i really wanted the lock i could come get it at the willow lawn location. everything about how this place is run is unacceptable but on top of that, the customer service is worse somehow. I would not store my things here if my life depended on it. absolute joke of a location and joke of a staff. I got a refund but I honestly wish there was something more to be done because it was absolutely appalling.This place should be shut down or actually fully staffed so no one else has to deal with this. If you are thinking “well no one wants to work these days” you’re paying too little and treat your employees poorly, which is probably why they treat your customers just was poorly. I’ve told everyone I knew in the last week about my experience because I was so shocked. SEE GOOGLE REVIEW: If I could give this zero stars I would. As per other reviews (should’ve read them beforehand, that’s my fault), there’s no one here to assist if you need help and when you call the number on their sign it reroutes you to the Willow Lawn UHAUL and they basically tell you you have to drive to that location. I was supposed to get a unit with a lock and key and when I showed up, no one was at the office and when I called, the girl on the phone (at the Willow Lawn location) was nothing short of rude. She made it feel as though it’s my fault I don’t know there’s no one here or that their signs are not up to date or accurate. I finally got to my unit (there’s no map of the units inside the building) the lock I was told I would receive was no where in sight. I again called the (WILLOW LAWN) location and was told no one was there right now to give me a lock but I could go to the other location to get it. What did I pay for then? To have a unit sit empty until I could go get the lock? I picked this location because it’s convenient for Scott’s Addition, but I guess it’s not really convenient actually, since no one is here. Extremely inconvenient and not at all customer friendly. I called customer service to get a refund and cancel my contract, was told they couldn’t do refunds online or over the phone, but management could reach out in 72 hours. So you can take my money online but not refund it? Got it. I eventually was refunded my money (guess you can do refunds on the phone and management doesn’t need to take 72 hours to reach out to you) but it was a 20 minute phone call I didn’t need the stress of at 10am. HORRIBLE customer service, not customer oriented and whoever picks up the phone at the WILLOW LAWN LOCATION needs to be met with by upper management and review what is an appropriate way to speak to customers, because she either doesn’t know or needs a refresher. There was no discount for my inconvenience. Nevertheless, the staff resolved the problem quickly by switching the units.
