What can I say, this was a nightmare. My reservation wasn't there, no one was in the office, the neighborhood is quite dangerous, and only by sheer luck did I manage to get another truck, because a nice couple returned theirs while I was waiting and gave their key to me. Meanwhile, Uhaul passed me from one ineffectual customer service person to another, none of whom were even slightly helpful until I reached one kind person who allowed me to use the couple's truck. Just a nightmare. Suffice to say, aside from the final customer service rep (who was wonderful), it was not an experience I'll look to repeat.

The experience at this location was horrible. We had a reservation, but the lady working at the location refused to give us a rental at first. Then when she agreed, we had to wait for 20 minutes. When we returned the vehicle, she never checked it back in so we were overcharged by $100. I then had to call Uhaul customer service to start a refund process. This location should be shut down.

The attendant was VERY rude and acted as if I were a bother to her. She continued to text message on her cell phone while half answering my questions about the pricing and availability. Her attitude was so unpleasant that I asked who was the owner of business. She responded, " Why?" I was shocked and appalled! I told her, as a consumer, I wanted to know. She then replied, "My Boss" My next question was, if she was related to the owner. If she had said yes, I would have left that establishment immediately! But , because I was in such a time crunch I proceeded with the rental. $38 to move one couch less than 3 miles away and to be treated so rudely, was NOT WORTH IT! I will NEVER recommend this location, nor will I EVER use it again. I now live less than a block from this establishment and will travel to the Uhual in N.E. where I received SUPERIOR customer service!

The staff did not know where the truck was parked and otherwise did not appear to know what they were doing. My phone conversations with staff were equally bizarre. I asked about the process for mobile check-in after hours vs. showing ID/ picking up the truck at the store, and the person on the phone had zero knowledge of what I was talking about. I chose to take off work for half the day so I could pick it up during business hours and increase my chances that I actually receive the truck I reserved. The problems are not just limited to this specific location, though. The person who was going to be the main driver has an international driver's license (which is valid for driving in the US), but I wanted to input his driver's license information ahead of time online so that it went as smoothly as possible (this was before I realized that the location itself was incompetent and I would need to pick up the truck in person anyway). The online form requires that you input a US state or Canadian province (neither of which applied to his driver's license). I called U-Haul's customer service center and was transferred to at least 4 different people, each of whom told me that they had no idea how to answer my question (i.e., whether he could use his international driver's license), and spent at least 40 minutes in pure hold time.

I didn't like the service of the person at this location. First se said over the phone the mini van was available. When i get there she says is being repaired, so I took the pick-up. Then I had a hard time finding the pick-up around the block. And finally when I left the pick up (around the block) she told me I had to park it in front of their office. .

The man there was very kind. Even though he didn't know about our arrival and didn't have room for the truck ( something fell through on the U Haul communication there) he saw how tired we were and took the truck anyway.

Overcharged for gas. Gas indicator said it was at the level I needed it to be but I was charged for not filling it up enough. Uhaul was dirty too

The customer service was poor. The employee who was there was not at all interested in helping customers. She seemed annoyed when I walked in, and was unwilling to review the truck with me prior to rental. Prior to my rental, she insisted that I sign the form confirming the condition of the truck, and confirming the fuel level in the truck, prior to allowing me to view the truck and to use the keys to start the engine to check the fuel level.

I had a terrible experience with the staff person who was either completely inept or deceitful or a combination of the two. I had ordered my U-Haul via the mobile app and marked that I would not take the damage protection for $11. When I arrived to pick up the vehicle, the staff member charged me for the damage protection and told me she didn’t know how to remove it. I wasted half an hour in the office (which nearly caused me to miss my window for being able to move my items) trying to phone the U-Haul phone number on my receipt. After finally getting through, they told me the receipt would need to be fixed at the office where I was picking up the vehicle, and they transferred the call to the same staff person checking me in, who either didn’t know how to make the change or was just refusing to help. The staff person was additionally deceitful in that during the check in process after I saw I was being charged the extra money, and she told me there was nothing she could do to help, I asked if I should just cancel my reservation because the mobile app had a link that would still allow me to cancel. She told me no it wasn’t possible, and so I didn’t click on the link immediately. A moment later when I decided I should try anyway, it would no longer allow me to do so because As soon as she knew I could cancel via the app, she officially checked me in. So she purposefully was trying to prevent me from getting being able to remove the damage protection that I never ordered in the first place. Now I will need to go call my credit card and dispute the charge and who knows how long this will take. I would never recommend this vendor to anyone. I reiterate this was a terrible experience and a true waste of time. Do not rent a vehicle from 930 Kennedy st NW Washington DC.

Location has you walk for blocks to pick up a U-haul and then you have to search for parking when you return it, which adds mileage. Also fuel amount on both check in and check out was incorrect and I had to note it and take a picture so that I wouldn't get charged.

This is an urban neighborhood with no parking lot. Trucks are on the street with limited parking. Attendant was rude. Very poor customer experience overall. I was never given a receipt, was told it would emailed.

This was a terrible experience, I was charged double what I should have. They charged a cleaning fee even though I returned it in better condition and refused to take off the optional insurance fee. The receptionist was rude and unhelpful throughout.

This location does not have a parking lot and is in a bit of a high crime area. I did not realize that I had to find street parking until I picked up the van, at which point I could not change my plans. You should let customers know ahead of time that a selected drop off location does not have its own lot or parking spaces.



Lady seemed surprised to see me when I walked in and was not helpful at all. The gas meter on the contract said the tank was 1/4 full but it was maybe 1/8 full. I somehow got signed up for CDW when I would have declined that if asked. Generally the customer service was nonexistent. It's close to my home so I may use it again, but next time I'll just do the mobile pickup if possible.

Requested a closed cab truck, got an open pickup instead as the only thing available. Damage report from the last customer reports damage to the "cap" which I interpret as the cap on the pickup's bed, but there was no cap. So I had to transport my stuff in an open pickup in the rain. The customer should get what was requested.

Parking can be a little complicated .it would be great to have a street designated parking for return trucks. It was a Great experience in the ease & prompt transaction and with Staff.
