My original reservation was made to a location 5 blocks from my house. Uhaul guaranteed the pickup time and date. When I went to get my truck at the pickup time, the whole lot was empty and no truck. Nobody contacted me to say the truck wasn't available. The manager onsite didn't know where the truck was. So much for the guarantee. Worthless... He had to call someone to find a location that had a truck my size. He found one that was 4 miles up the road and had to have one of his associates drive me up to this new location... This location was a dump as far as I'm concerned. They had my truck size and took care of the paperwork for me. I had to drive an extra 4 miles to get home and get my belongings since it was an overnight stay... I reset the trip meter to zero at the rental site and then left. According to the trip meter, (B) my round trip was 766 miles. However, when I got my receipt, it showed I drove 774 miles. R&B Automotive (dealer) said they used the odometer reading. How is it possible to have 2 different readings? Plus it took almost 2 hours to get this truck because mine wasn't at my location. That put me 2 hours behind schedule . I feel like I was ripped off on the mileage plus the extra miles I had to drive to return the truck. Also, my original reservation was for 2 days since my dealer is closed on Sundays. Since R&B Automotive are open Sundays I got charged an extra day. WTF? I reserved my truck through Quality Quick Lube and they are closed on Sundays. My rental was for 2 days. Pickup on Friday and drop off Sunday morning. I should not be penalized for an extra day because I had to use a different location to get my truck. This was a UHAUL screw-up and I should not have to pay an extra day. Plus the extra mileage. I have used Uhaul for over 20 years and never had a problem until now. I am not a happy customer. Uhaul needs to fix this issue right away. This rental cost me a lot of money... Thank you.
