I returned the equipment in time on Saturday (no one there) but was called on Monday and told that the trailer was overdue - the garage was closed all weekend and Monday (Columbus Day) - not a big deal but concerning

The online reservation did not make it clear (at all) that we only had an hour long window to pick up our vehicle. While trying to check in we passed over an hour and our reservation would not work. Again, the app or website do not tell us the reason. We just thought it was broken. So we had to call the customer service line. I waited for 12 minutes for a rep and was immediately disconnected as soon I was being connected. I called back and waited another 7.5 minutes to be connected. After that the rep could not have been more helpful and was able to adjust our reservation time. In summary, I was pretty mad. Checking in took 40 minutes longer than it should have and we were late as a result. All the site needed to do was explicitly state the check in window. Not sure why that information is not being displayed more prominently.

The pick up location was friendly and kind. But we were told the pick up location wouldn't be anymore than 10 miles from the original place we rented from. It ended up being 17 miles away (35 minutes on interstate). When we picked up the truck, it was only 1/4 filled with gas and the windows and cab were dirty and had to be cleaned. We obvioulsly had to fill up on our trip, but now the truck was left with a little under 1/2 tank of gas. So ended up spending more money to benefit someone else. It would had been nice to pick up the truck with a full tank of gas!!!

Mark & Bill were awesome to work with. They took the time to help make the reservation because the u-haul website was a bit confusing. They went over everything I needed to know and I was on my way. Quick and easy. I highly recommend them.

I have two comments. First, Mark was very helpful to me by showing me all the features of the car carrier and how they work and should be attached. My dissatisfaction rating is solely based on the way U-Haul made me rent a truck from one location and a car-carrier from another location, both of which were very far from the location I selected when I made my reservation for both. Mark actually apologized for U-Haul Operations lack of customer service. My second comment is not as positive. I do NOT appreciate the fact that U-Haul did not have this piece of equipment at the location that I listed as a preference which was in Plainfield IL. U-Haul forced me to drive 20 miles further to pick up this car-carrier in Batavia IL. Moreover, U-Haul forced me to rent a truck which I used to tow this car carrier from another location in Aurora IL (refer to U-Haul Contract #89364973). Moreover, when I rented this truck from that location there was a car-carrier on that lot reserved for someone else to pick up the next day. Because U-Haul forced me to rent two pieces of equipment from different locations (truck from Aurora, and car-carrier from Batavia) I wasted a lot of time and gasoline driving back and forth. It is my experience that I received very poor customer service from U-Haul in the way they made me drive to get U-Haul equipment. It seems to me the least U-Haul could have done was to have both the truck and the car-carrier at the same location. Please have someone from U-Haul call me at 630-333-7590.
