Everett Downtown Storage Hewitt was great—the staff was very friendly and helpful. However, the U-Haul truck I was provided through Fleet (which had nothing to do with the pickup location) was essentially a death trap. The noise level inside the truck exceeded 104 decibels (my Apple Watch alerted us), which was completely intolerable. The engine made a loud banging sound and felt like it was about to fall apart. The truck would not get up to speed, which was extremely dangerous while driving on the Trestle and Highway 204. The experience was so frightening that I needed someone to accompany me just to return the truck, as I was genuinely afraid it would break down between Lake Stevens and Everett. I immediately reported this to the employee at the storage location. She fully understood my concerns—she had heard the noise both when I picked up the truck and when I returned it. She was shocked the vehicle was rented out at all and apologized profusely. I told her I should not have to pay for the rental, or at the very least should receive a significant discount. She assured me that the U-Haul Fleet Manager would contact me the following Monday. That call never came. In fact, U-Haul never contacted me at all. Since I also had not yet been charged, I assumed they acknowledged the issue and were not going to charge me. Thirty-seven days later, I was charged the full amount to my credit card. When I called U-Haul to complain, they offered only a $50 refund on a $120 one-day rental that I used for approximately six hours—despite the serious safety concerns. This entire situation was handled poorly from start to finish. Due to this experience, I will not be renting from U-Haul again.

Great service. The front desk person was very helpful when she discovered that I had forgotten a couple of rugs in the truck. She was patient with me while I pulled them out and loaded them into the trunk of my ride.
KIMBERLY PThe in-person service was great. The associate who helped me at the Everett location was sweet and courteous. Everything else however, was spotty at best: I reserved the truck at a location nearest me, only to be told the day before that it would not be there. Forcing me to drive 15 minutes out of the way to the next closest truck. Further adding miles (costing more money) and gas charges to the bill. A bit of an inconvenience. The website when I was trying to do my inspection check out was wonky, wouldn't let me upload pictures, continually failed, and eventually just wouldn't work. Big waste of time on an already hectic move day. I paid for the half dozen moving blankets, I only received 4 of the total 6 (of which I couldn't report that on the pre-inspection because your site wasn't working properly). After all of that, you guys nickle and dime charged me, for an in-town move, with a cleaning fee, because I left the blankets out to dry in the truck as it had been pouring rain all day. Absolutely will look elsewhere anytime I need a moving truck. Uhaul has fallen way behind
