We were charged twice $192 according to our bank. We have called to clarify the situation.
I don't like giivng a negative review but this time I do need to. I felt like little to no information was given to me to understand the process even tho the staff was aware this was my first time using the U-haul service. No information was freely given - I had to keep asking questions. I was told a 10' truck was NOT on site and they would have to get one - then I was told to look at the van - I felt it was too small but was asked what we had and was repeatedly told the items would fit. Well they did not fit - not even close. After reloading the van several times to try different ways to fit the items in - there was no way it would fit. The 10' truck would have worked best as I originally requested. But now 2 trips needed to be made that would be costing me $55 more in miles much less the gas of the 80 mile trip AND OUR TIME!!! And I have family members wasting their entire day on this foolishness. You should have offered to get the 10' truck without trying to take the easy road and leaving a client with many apologies to be made to the family members for the added HOURS and the gas needed to use another vehicle to get the rest of the items. Really poor judgement on the staff . I took everyone out to eat as well because we went way past lunch and into supper time - the added cost was not necessary! Much less the added miles on another vehicle and gas as well. If you are the front desk and you have a NEW client - take the time to educate and assist with their understanding. To pick up the vehicle using our smart phones - was a long time process - we used 2 phones to get thru the process. There truly has to be a way to help your clients better and more conversation about facts and WHAT THE CLIENTS NEEDS ARE - rather than the fact someone doesn't want to get a 10' truck from another location. Disappointing and very costly for me - it would have been cheaper to rent the 10' truck rather than the van. The additional cost and time for my family and myself - was not worth the savings the staff had quoted to me. How do I recoup that money? How do I recoup that time? Extremely disappointing.

Kind of big problem though was I setup for a 5X8 trailer, the trailer I got was actually marked as a 5x9 (same price) but I don't know where these measurements came from. The bed was really 4x9, I was lucky as the cart I was loading barely under 4 feet wide but if I had been banking on 5 feet of bed space I would have been in a lot of trouble.
The truck interior was filthy. Dusty, dirty, made me pretty uncomfortable considering the pandemic we're in. I ended up sanitizing some parts of the interior for my safety, though I feel this should've been done already. Gas level didn't look entirely full so I didn't leave it entirely full, left it where it was when I got it. I've rented Penske and a nice larger size uhaul in the past and both were much nicer experiences.
Communication could be improved greatly.
Very smooth processing time. This location had proper COVID 19 station set up also.

Have more vehicles. The only ones available were cargo van or 20ft truck. I would prefer a 10ft truck.
The vansaid it needed oil change..sugguest customers over fill the gas usage

Customer support was great at this location. I had issues with my hitch and my vehicle and the lady at the front desk sent out maintenance to help and was very supportive even when we were there past closing hours. Great job.
I was not in a hurry when I checked in, it wasn't the assistant's doing, but I chose to check in online for faster service but when I got there, she could not get the company PC working properly , nor her tablet. After several minutes she had to manually take all my information and write it down on paper. Like I mentioned, I wasn't in a hurry but I feel the company's vital business equipment should be working professionally. I also had to make another trip to the facility to run my debit card again the next day. The office assistant called me and had to write my card number down to put it in the system which was a big violation to my personal information. She had great customer service, but she had to do what she had to because the business equipment was not up to professional standards.
It would be nice if all truck windows were cleaned, inside and out, prior to rental. My experience was just fine, that's a suggestion.
