When I ordered the Van, I declined insurance. Thinking that they would honor that, as I have my own insurance, they instead wrote it into the contract. As a result, I now have to go through the hassle of asking U-Haul for a refund of the cost of the insurance.

Have the vehicle ready when it's supposed to be ready (including extra equipment being rented). I could not use the app to complete the transaction because the extra equipment was not ready — they were using it in the convenience store to move merchandise. This led to unnecessary delay and frustration.

It's after the fact so I do not expect anything to be done. After leaving the facility I noticed that the fuel gage read 5/8 not the 7/8 as stated on my bill. My fault for not checking it earlier. The smell inside the van was strong and almost smelled like meat. I believe the smell was actually the rubber sheeting used to protect the floor. The van was pretty new being a 2018 with 2100 miles on it when I picked it up. The passenger seat had dirt/sawdust on it. An old contract was stashed in center hump console.

This individual had no interest in helping me. When I told him I was dropping off he told me he could not find my contract and that I was on my own. He seemed bothered by me being there. When I called Uhauls contact us #, I sat on hold for 10 minutes. When I finally got someone; she redirected me to an insurance automated operator asking what kind of claim I was submitting. I was very confused. Finally I did the self return with your website. NO ONE from uhaul was helpful in the return process. This location is busy and small, which is not an ideal combination for people renting LARGE trucks and trying to maneuver. I'll be exploring other options next moving day but I sure won't be coming back here. I have no idea why I couldn't drop my truck off where I had requested to in the first place.

The experience of picking up the truck was a roller coaster ride of ANXIETY. THe first location that I was scheduled to pick up equipmentat did not have it. THe guy was dismissive and NO ONE called to tell me that they did not have it. THe guy did not even appologize that he had us driving all the way out there. Scheduling was difficult in the first place. The price went up during the process. I had to update a few times; but never got any confirming email. Nothing had saved. So between Monday and Wednesday, I had called someone at Uhaul 7 times and got passes around to more people. When a problem arose, no one would take any credit. Finally, I got to talk to Tonya who found me a truck and trailer IN Morton, Grove.. {Back 30-40 minutes in the other direction}. We got there and he did not have the reservation. Someone else had gone into the system and changed my reservation to another location AGAIN. The guy at the location wanted to charge me more to pick up at his location. I called and luckily got TONYA again. She went in and found that My reservation had been moved again. {this is now two hours later that I needed to have been done.} Tonya saved the day and got everything sorted out and kept me from having a break down. I made it to McHenry to get my car in the nick of time. So, we went and loaded up the truck and was able to leave that night. However we got in at 2am and it made it all a really LONG DAY. Stressful day. Had been a stressful week. In the end it was TONYA that made it all OK. We Cleaned the back of the truck and the cab. Hubby swept it out and we pulled parts of furniture and water bottles OT of the cab. The guy at the gas station was nice enough to come out to help us hook up the trailer. He was busy and kept taking other people in front of me. It might have been OK if the Fiasco had not set us back a few hours. We had already had to spend driving a few hours around. I was already upset. I really can not speak much about how he handled things. It was Tonya that went in to fix everything. She helped to calm me down and make everything right. She went in to fix things. I am not sure what he would have been able to do anything for us. I am grateful that Tonya was on the other side of the phone. She ROCKS and DESERVES A HUGE RAISE. If it was not for her and Mr Effinger, I would not have used UHAUL again. I have had bad experiences, EVERY OTHER TIME. THe mirror on the truck was not usable as it vibrated, it kept moving back. I had to have my hubby tell me if I could get over. We wiped things down there was something sticky on the dash. We. Had to Sweep out the back of the truck, and clean up. There was a crazy Vibrating noise that would happen when we would accelerate if the steering wheel was turned a little. I am not sure what it was. It didn not happen if we were just driving around town.. It made me nervous. Hubby thought it was a heat shield. IDK. I will call

Took a long time to pickup and they couldn't figure out that I was picking up trailer tomorrow even though it was in the notes. Then when I came to pickup the trailer the guy didn't know what to do either and took 30 minutes for him to call someone else that wasent picking up. Then guy couldn't move a truck out of the way because he didn't have a license. Luckily I was able to squeekze the trailer and truck out of their tiny parking lot. Then he didn't know how to hook up the trailer and it came off the ball as soon as I pulled out. Tightening up the ball was the one thing I didn't do myself. Luckily I hooked up the chains properly and was able to lift the trailer myself or the trailer would have been damaged. If I have to use uhaul again I will make sure it is an actual location and not one of these outside businesses.


Poor service, attendant was arguing with me about gas. I drove 18 miles and put 2.5 gallons in, and he said it wasn't enough.


The vehicle's windshield was covered in ice, frost, and snow. The owner should of at least removed the ice from the windshield for safety reasons.


The service was quick and friendly; the vehicle clean and in good shape.

the person who took my reservation was a very poor listener. I explained several times that we needed the van until late Saturday afternoon, trying to correct her on how long the rental would be, but somehow she still got it wrong.


The truck wasn't available until three and a half hours later than said pick up time. The man at the counter didn't speak good English and didn't understand our questions.

They only had 1 van and 2 trucks. Are there more parked somewhere else? I would worry they would not have my reservation ready. I feel more comfortable with the large U-Haul centers. This was a gas station that also had the trucks in their lot as a side business perhaps. He also used a different credit card reader so was clearly not part of the Mobil gas station.

Truck was not stocked with materials that I had requested so I had to go pick them up at another Uhaul facility. The truck was in good condition, however.


owner barely understands what you are saying too him encouraged to leave key in overnight dropbox which doesn't fit the key (slot is too small!!!)
