I was confused because all the electronic communication I received from u-Haul said that there would be a no-contact pickup. I took this to mean that I would not need to interact with a person. However, when we arrived at the pickup location, I was apparent we needed to interact with the local staff member because our vehicle was parked behind other u-haul vehicles. The customer service agent changed the vehicle so we could take one that was not parked in and completed the check out process manually. It was just very confusing.

The uhaul was completely dirty ! We drove off from 117 to realize there was a man sleeping in the back of the van will blankets and pillows there was also garbage everywhere!

Truck broke down on me

The first van I rented from you guys broke down and had to be towed 30 minutes into my first trip in the vehicle. The van was EXTREMELY dangerous to drive, as the steering offered very little control of the vehicle, there suspension was shot, and I had two (TWO!) flat tires. So the tow truck came, and I was left stranded! Thanks, Uhaul! I showed up to the Uhaul facility the next day, and I received another defective vehicle that I returned later that day because it also felt unsafe to drive. You guys really need to take better care of your fleet. You're going to badly injure one of your customers with these poorly maintained vehicles. Oh, and you completely failed in helping me with my move. Super disappointed!

Parking was a bit of a challenge/unclear given some of the limitations for street parking at this location - but that's to be expected in NYC

I was given false information about returning the uhaul truck. I was told by a guy to park the uhaul by the hydrant if the spot in front of the location was on available. I was also told by him that someone will be there to take the keys and move the truck if I do not find available parking spots. He also stated that the person will give me a receipt. No one was there to take keys in the nearby office that he showed me. After about 10 to 15 minutes a guy came and stated they he is not allowed to take the keys and for me to use the Dropbox, which I did. Also the truck did not drive smoothly. It seemed as if it was going to break down. Plus the check engine light was on. I AM NOT HAPPY with the experience I had!

To expensive at the end. I wasn’t able to return the truck at a different location which went I would be charged more. Had I known, I would've just hired a moving company for that price or cheaper and saved myself time energy and money. Never again, lesson learned.

The people at the office were not professionals at all. By the time we returned the truck no one was available to answer questions about the gas, and let me not forget the perso. That help me out when I call. Not happy at all

I reserved 2 hand trucks and 1 dolly a week in advance. When I arrived at the location , I was told “ sorry, we don’t have any, it’s first come , first serve “ These items were ESSENTIAL to my move. Not having the items made my move a horrible experience.

The first vehicle I received was one of the most unsafe vehicles I have ever driven in my life, and I will be seeking a refund of my money. No shocks, no suspension, I couldn’t get it above 40 mph, and the steering was super loose. It had to be towed, and my wife had to drive 50 miles to Pick me up. Seriously, UHAUl??? YOU ALMOST KILLED ME!!!!!! That vehicle should not be on the road. The second vehicle I returned early because it also had all sorts of warning lights flashing on the dashboard, and I was quite shaken from my experience with the first vehicle. You have to pay better attention to your vehicles. You’re going to get someone hurt if you don’t. Worst rental experience ever!!!!

They were over charging me on milage, stating that they have a mandatory extra 10 mile add on to the amount of miles you tell them you need. They had my contract confused and the charged my card an additional 30 dollars without letting me know. Every employee told me something different. It was very confusing and the professionalism of the female employee was terrible, she spoke to me really bad, refused to listen to what I had to say about the over charging and the misinformation of the contract.
