Reservation was not available at reserved time. Business had signage that was rude, unprofessional, and had inappropriate language. Very poor customer service was received.

I originally had chosen a different location and time to pick up U-Haul. When I arrived at that location (otucks in water valley) they had no idea I was coming nor did they have a truck. So the time of my pick up and location was changed. This was a big inconvenience for me because I had people coming to help and they had to wait 3 hours to get started. I was very unhappy with that part. But Caine's took great care of us.

I was returned the rental trailer the same afternoon that I picked it up. However, I was charged for an extra day. I have called Caines three times to get a refund/credit and I'm told that they "have to call our Uhaul guy" to get him to issue the refund. The front desk staff did not seem very competent or overly friendly. They were very slow in processing my transaction.



While my reservation was in the system, they indicated that I may not get my rental until the next day. I noticed that the U-Haul out front was not being used and asked about it, they said it was not serviceable. Luckily a lady a pulled in and was returning the U-Haul she has rented. They checked the truck that was just returned for mileage and gas. Front desk people gave me the keys to the U-Haul, however, they were the keys for the "non-serviceable vehicle." When pulling out onto the highway we noticed that the gas was almost on empty. The lady said that the gas was 1/2 full. I looked at my sheet I signed and it stated that I was responsible for making sure the gas was at 1/2 full before pulling out which is why I didn't call. In the future make sure you are checking the right vehicle when indicating gas. I ended paying way more than I should have because I was given false information.

Felt I was lucky to have my truck there as I have realized that their is really no guarantee your unit will be available as this was confirmed at two different locations, one in Laurel and one in Oxford that both said even after your rental is confirmed and pickup location set you cannot depend on it being there. That is ridiculous! These were Uhaul locations providing this information. My first truck contract was cancelled when a truck that I reserved two weeks prior could not be guaranteed the day before I needed it. Uhaul as a company needs to change the way it is operating it’s company.

Too far out of Oxford City Limits

They were not even open when we arrived at 11:00 and their houses were clearly stated as 8:00-1:00. We had to call the phone number on the door and wait for their arrival. The lady that checked us out was rude on the phone the day before and at time of pickup. They were unprofessional and unaccommodating. Also, we asked for moving blankets when we reserved through U Haul's 800 # and none were available. We had damage to one piece of furniture as a result.

Everything went smoothly. The personnel was friendly, the equipment was ready to go when I got there, and the personnel ensured that my car was hitched securely to the truck.

The trailer had a bad tire. The core was showing and I didn’t see it till I was an hour away. I was scared to death I would have a blow out and cause an accident. When I called the facility where I rented it they said if I had trouble I could call 1-800-uhaul for road service. I rented the trailer at 3:15 pm for $24.95 for 24 hours. When I took it back at around 10 am the next day I was told I owed for a second day because they had put 9:15 pm of the previous day (6 hous from time I rented it) on the contract . After requesting to call the local manager I was told they would correct the paper work and I would not have to pay for a second day. I should not have to go through this kind of poor sales practice in a company that is as large and previously respected as uhaul is.
