Having someone be on location would be a good place to start. We arrived at 8 to pick up our truck and no one was there. We left to get supplies down the road and returned at 8:30 and still nobody was there. After calling customer service and having them reach the locations manager we were told someone would be there in 15 minutes. Someone finally showed up at a little after 9:30 after over a hour and a half of waiting.

This location was not open as advertised. Website said they would open at 7:00. Their sign said they would open at 8:00. By 9:15 no one had arrived. I left the trailer as per website instructions but had no way to secure or check in the 18 packing blankets.

This location was supposed to be open til 6:00 for drop off. I called a few times the afternoon I was dropping off to let them know when I’d be there and no one answered and there was no answering service. When I arrived a little after 5:00 no one was there. No one answered either of the available phone numbers. It was stressful and extremely inconvient. Thankfully the Rome, NY office where I rented the trailer walked me through how I could drop it off.

The customer service by the person there was great. My only problem was that they did not have a computer system up and running to process my paperwork. They took a photo of my drivers license on the person's cellphone, which I do not like from a personal security point of view. How do I know where that photo will be used or stored. I would request that it be deleted now that my credit card has been processed. Thank you.

My complaint is not with this location at all it is with U-Haul. I placed an order to pick up a trailer at the Riverside Ave location. About an hour before I was scheduled to pick up, I got a call from a Restricted number, which was a representative from U-Haul. They told me that the nearest location to pick up this trailer was at 73 Ethan Allen Drive. I went there at the correct time, only to find the location closed but the trailer was accessible. We were having trouble hooking up the trailer so we called the number listed on the door of the location. The owner answered and was very professional and explained that I still needed to sign paperwork before leaving. I was confused but completely understood where the owner was coming from. My issue is with the communication between the company, the customer and the owner/franchisee, There needs to be clear and thorough communication between the parties. If there wasn't an issue with us hooking up the trailer, we would have never known and would have left without ever signing anything.
