Honestly, the experience felt shady from the start. They aren't a traditional Uhaul outlet, but a tow truck company with some older Uhauls on the side. I was moving a couple of ladders, so I didn't think it was a big deal. Overall, I was able to accomplish what I needed, but I thought it was also important to share my experience with others. First, the sheet provided at pickup claimed the truck had more gas than it actually did—the gauge on the dash showed less, and I had to provide photo proof to get it corrected. The truck itself made strange noises and felt like it was stuck between gears, especially on hills. To the front desk’s credit, they addressed the gas issue once I showed them the evidence, which I appreciated. However, I was still charged a “cleaning” fee after using the van to move just two ladders, even though the truck didn’t appear clean when I received it and I checked out at the front desk (not after hours.) I won’t dispute the charge, but I will be choosing more reputable U-Haul dealers going forward, like the locations in North White Plains or Mount Kisco.

Beyond disappointed in the customer service from when I picked up the truck to drop off. The truck was dirty and in terrible shape it needs to be maintained better. Never using uhaul again, do better
DAVID BI was scheduled to pick up in Mamaroneck, that was bumped to Harrison, then Thornwood—a half hour away. Thornwood had one old truck and no moving supplies so I had to go back to mamaroneck to get pads and a hand truck.
