Location was creepy...a small roadside store. Out of the way...drove by a large U-Haul storage/rental facility that would’ve been 7-8 miles closer and was definitely more appealing from exterior.

The poor gentleman who owns this location has no way of lifting the trailers tongues onto the truck hitch. He really needs some help or equipment to handle this.

A small cramped convenience(?) store with no clear parking. Worker called her rep while I was there, no interaction with a computer or other system, and told me that it would be taken care of. 10 days later, the pick-up location called to ask me why I still had the truck and not returned it. I gave them the location in my contract where I dropped it off. She called me back to let me know it was taken care of and that the worker never turned it in.

I didnf get paper work when I went to pick up a truck, so when I went to return it a man was very rude about me not having the paperwork I didn’t have in the first place.

U-Haul changed me location to location 13 miles the wrong direction which was 26 miles round trip. I called my choice location and they stated they have room and transfered my to the scheduling office that was VERY not understanding and rude about I have no choice but use the new drop off location. The owner points to the lot and said leave it over there and did not help disconnect the trailer from my vechicle. Poor support.........

First time using this drop off location. Convenient location! Was pleasantly surprised when we drove up at 8:45 PM and found them open. No issues with the personnel. Very helpful and easy to deal with.

Apparently this is a NEW operator. He is in a very rural location but it is the best location for where I actually used the equipment.

This location was very far out, and I was charged $.79 a mile. The person made no effort to find a better location and would not allow me to turn in the truck to a location owned by the same person, which was far more convenient. I continually had to call and repeat my credit card information to the clerk who could not get it correct. I would not do business with this business again at any of his locations. My problem was not with Uhaul, but with the business that rented me the truck. They were thoughtless and seemingly incompetent.

I have rented from this location before, but I wouldn't if they weren't the only U-haul place for quite a few miles. When I called to let them know I would be 30 minutes late picking up the trailer, it was apparently a big problem for them because they "aren't really open on Saturdays, it's really by appointment only". They weren't very nice about it either. So I had to get there, then call someone to come out and meet me which took about 20 minutes of my waiting in the snow and cold. He hooked up the trailer to my plug for the lights on my car that u-haul previously installed . They didn't light up and he told me the problem was the plug/socket on my car, not his trailer and he couldn't do anything about it. I would have to go to an autopart store and buy a new plug and install it myself. So he sent me off without functioning brake lights or turn signal on the trailer and on my own to get things fixed. Then I got to my house to begin loading and discovered that I first had to sweep the trailer out because it had alot of dirt inside!

Pick up was by appointment only on weekends. The traffic office should have been aware and informed their customers of this. I had to wait an hour for pick up. Attendant at location, was great, outside of this inconvenience. Overall, very pleased with experience, but I must also mention that there was1/8th tank at pick up instead of 1/4 tank in contract.

Make sure uhaul has their inventory up to date. I had to drive 45 minutes out of the way just to pick up this uhaul, despite the website originally telling me I could pick up that uhaul 5 minutes from my house.

At the beginning of June I reserved a 14 foot U-Haul from the Boone NC location for the last weekend in June. 2 days before my pick up day I was called be the Boone location and told that my reservation would not be available and I needed to contact corporate. After calling numerous numbers and being transferred I was told I would have a 26 foot truck available 40 minutes away at this location in Newland. Thankfully the man who helped me at this location was friendly and helpfull. However I find it absolutely ridiculous that I had to deal with this for a truck rental. A 26 foot was unnecessary. I will most certainly NOT be using U-Haul in the future for my moving needs.

My pick-up site was moved and I was not notified until less than 24 prior to the pick-up. I would have changed companies had a I been given enough time. I reserved my truck, utility dolly, and car dolly a month out and none of my reservations were correct. The car dolly was a different style/size than the one I reserved and the dolly given to me was not correct until I asked for the discrepency to be rectified. I move on average one time a year and have always used UHAUL. I was very disatisfied with my experience this time around.

would only recommend as a drop off location - people were not friendly and location is an old gas station/garage/inspection station. However as it is in a rural area of NC, the town was convenient..

How do you think I will rate my overall U_Haul experience when the "customer service" won't even respond to my complaint/ issues?!? (an acknowldegement of checking in to situation would be suffucient, but NOTHING is what I've gotten!! ) Will not be a returning customer!

The individual at the drop off location did not appear to do anything with U-hauls. I was told to unhook the tow dolly and put it beside an outbuilding. He could not do the turn in paperwork. But all is well and I had an overall great experience with this rental. Thanks!

I telephoned U-Haul last Friday to register a complaint against the Newland Dealer. I informed U-Haul that the Newland Dealer would not give me a copy back of my contract. When I telephoned customer service on the same day I dropped off the trailer (Friday, April 22nd) customer service said I would receive a copy of the contract showing my cost, etc. and a call back from a U-Haul Rep. concerning my complaint. As of today...I have received neither! Poor...communication folks!!!! I don't care about the phone call...but I do want to insist upon sending me a copy of my contract which the Newland Dealer refused to give me. I have used U-Haul for many years in the past....but will not in the future!!! Your lack of attention to matter such as this...shows poor managment and lack of concern for your customers, period! Vinny was awesome. Uhaul had very poorly handled my reservation from the get go and for some reason set my pick up for the wrong day and time. It turns out that the pick up location was closed on my actual pick up day and Vinny was so kind and made special arrangements with me to come in on his day off on a holiday weekend so we could pick up the unit.

I stopped by the Newland store before I made my trip to Florida, to ask questions about the renting process. They were very helpful explaining to me the process of renting a truck. Although after returning from my trip, a day early I decided to drop off the equipment early. It was very late when I dropped the equipment off, the store was closed. I could not decide what to do with the key to the truck. I did not won’t to leave it in the truck over night so I decided to return the key the next day. I looked in my paper work to see if there were instructions on what to do with the key. I read the inform. The next morning we discovered our phones were out of order although my cell phone worked fine. My wife asked me to work on getting the phone issue fixed after that I drove by the U-Haul store to return the key for the truck. The first thing the employee said to me was you were supposed to return the key by 9:00 this morning not 11:00. I told him I returned the truck last night and did not know what to do with the key. He then informed me they had a key drop-off box outside. The problem was no one had told me this was a part of the process. As far as I know the store did not charge me any more money for not dropping the key off earlier. He told me I would be getting a receipt through email later. Suggestion on Equipment: Put instructions on the key ring for after hour drop-offs. The equipment I rented a car transport with the wheel straps, at some point during the return trip I noticed both straps had come off the wheels. I think these tie downs could be redesigned to work more securely. Suggestion for store in Newland: Please ask them to designate with signs what to do when returning equipment after hours. I am not condemning this store at all; they just need a little guidance on setting up a better after hour return process. Over all, I would recommend U-Haul to others, Thanks to all that helped us with this move, Dickie Perry

The store did not have 36 pads as ordered.. they were in a messy sloppy lump in the back of a van. The store did not have the furniture wrap as ordered. The back door leaked water all over my furniture. One $300 chair water damaged, one $300 chair ruined.. several boxes of books soaked. Did not have nearly enough pads to wrap everything but not having wrap really made it worse.. the wraps fell off of a few items and rubbing wood against the wet floor left marks on otherwise well maintained furniture. Very dissapointed in u-haul. The dealer should be shut down. The trailer should not leak from the top of the door.. I rented an enclosed trailer to keep things reasonably dry. The back door was some kind of sun shade but did not prevent water entry. Jim 757 620 5536
