The first place we were told to pick up the UHaul was not helpful at all. It was at a gas station, and they could not give us any information. U-Haul never emailed me the code to get the keys, so we were just stuck outside. I called a separate location (665 N Halsted, Chicago) and I was legitimately shocked at how rude the manager was. He yelled at me because I thought one truck was mine, but I was confused. He mumbled and was so rude to me. He even didn't tell me that there was no parking, and I almost got towed.

Your staff is completely unhelpful. The truck was full of snow. The door was frozen shut. I had to ask them to come out of the trailer to show me how to open the back given that it was frozen shut. I also asked for explicit instructions on how to return the keys and the response was vague at best. The U Haul was dirty (yet WE were charged a cleaning fee???) and it came with half a tank of gas. When there is a blizzard in Chicago, these trucks should come with full tanks so there are no gas issues if you get stuck on a highway. I was actually astounded by the lack of professionalism, and the lack of care applied to your vehicles by your staff. The entire day I was thinking about a better alternative for my next event. That is not what you want your customers thinking about (ie how to avoid uhaul next time).

Get employees who are not rude too the customers and helpful I have never been treated with more disrespect and not helpful the one employee that was there my truck was stuck in the snow and my window was piled up with snow and he was very rude I will not come too that location again I paid 50 for my truck too be reserved and it wasn't ready

The cashier/employee at the location is extremely rude. I've rented from this location several times and have interacted with this same person numerous times; he is always very unpleasant, and I've even seen him raising his voice to other customers. This is by far my most convenient location, but I will drive a few more miles to avoid this location in the future. He 100% deserves to be reprimanded.

The truck I rented on 1/24, while technically "clean" and free from trash, was extremely dingy/dirty on the inside. It had clearly been smoked in many times and had a sticky grime over the entire interior. More direct to my negative experience was the poor service at the counter. My app wasn't working properly to get my truck, so I had to pick up my key from the desk. The guy there basically yelled at me and said I wasn't using the app properly, tossed me a key, and literally said "if the truck isn't out there for some reason, it's not my fault and I can't help you get a different one." Truly one of the worst customer service interactions I've had with any company in my life.

I did not get a return confirmation from the local site. He did not come out of his office and only pointed to where to put the car trailer. (it was 5:30 on a Saturday, dark, and not a particularly safe looking area of town at night). Rachael in Lenexa Ks took care of the return, alerting them, because it had not been received back yet.

The parking lot was well marked where to park the truck and the key drop off was very visible helping me to complete the steps via the app and leave the truck in a safe location. I was apprehensive to use the self service app for drop off but it worked out great in combination to such a well designed drop off location.

There were no moving blankets provided even though I rented them. I didnt notice the missing blankets until i got to the job site. Therefore I had to move my items without moving blankets. I would like a refund and a future credit for this miss.

Not only did the employee lie about not getting the keys to the truck back, he also falsified the gas used in order to charge me more. My entire trip was 6.4 miles and I was charged for 7.4 gallons. He then also charged me a $150 cleaning fee when the truck was returned clean. By far, the worse experience I ever had at any store in my life

Whoever this guy is who runs this location needs to be fired. he was rude, unhelpful, and seriously unprofessional. i move about once a year and will never work with uhaul again, and if i have to, i'll avoid this location at all costs, my experience tempted me into contacting the better business bureau. i reserved a truck for a move and when i showed up- no truck was available. how can you be a company that revolves are helping people move but not follow through on guaranteeing a truck? ( the most important part) i'm honestly surprised the guy who runs this location hasn't been fired yet because the people who he was working with before seemed to have also had a horrible time as well.

I reserved a truck and a dolly, hand truck and moving blankets for the move. I showed up at 8am to pick up the truck and supplies, and Raymond behind the counter informed me that although the truck was there, none of the supplies were available. No apology, he just blamed uhaul's website. They obviously knew this at least the day before- why would they not warn me the day before so I could make alternative arrangements?. I only had the moving elevator in my building from9am-12pm and this forced me to scramble to try to find equipment at the last minute. Not only was Raymond incredible unhelpful and unapologetic, but he was also just rude throughout the entire experience. Never again will I use UHaul

I had spoken to a uhaul rep and confirmed my reservation for the following day. My original pick up was scheduled at 7:30 for my move. I get a phone call at 7:15 telling me they don't have a truck for me and that they couldn't help me. Fortunately I was able to get a truck at a different location that further away and at a later time. It's disappointing to have spoken to someone the night before to confirm everything only to get a phone call 15 minutes prior to your pick up that it's unavailable. How does something like this happen?

The car was a little dirty but the check in process was pretty annoying. The app was not working because it would not let me take photos so I spent a lot of time doing that. Also the process of finding the car, finding the key box, etc took a lot of time to walk back and forth and search for things. Overall I was able to check in and I would still use this location in the future

I rented 2 dollys with my reservation because I needed them to move heavy furniture. Arrived at the run-down facility and drive around for 15 minutes trying to find someone to talk to about picking up my trailer. End up having to call the location number to find out where someone is to pick up the rental. Finally find the person to talk to about picking up the trailer and he tells me they dont have the dollys. I ask him where I can pick some up as I need them for my move, he shrugs and says I dont know, you're out of luck. Guy could not care less, terrible location, terrible service would not use this location or recommend to anyone. Ended up having to run to a hardware store and paying $46 to purcahse 2 dollys. Would love to get refunded for those but doubt that will happen.

We've used this location several times. Where to leave trucks when dropping off could be MUCH better labeled... I was driving a huge truck, parked it, and then when I got up to the gate they guy was like, nope, move it over there. SO frustrationg and dumb. Then, I got an invoice for additional gas, saying that I gave the truck back with only 3/4 tank, which is absolutely untrue. I literally went to a gas station right before I dropped it off and double checked that the needle was ON the F before I left. I emailed them to contest it but haven't gotten a response yet. I paid for the most expensive type of rental and now I'm being charged for gas I left in the tank? Frustrating but on par for the year honestly. Hopefully that charge is refunded.

Don't send me to a place with no U-Haul even though I reserved it 2 weeks in advance. Don't send me to a secondary location with a dead battery in the U-Haul Don't give customers moldy U-Hauls Don't have an attitude when I dial customer service Give me a bill of sale so I can return the vehicle Instead of having to wait 1hr for customer service on the phone. Call me at 5865565127, id love to explain how horrible my experience and your company is. This was truly the worst experience I possibly could have had from u-haul and made my moving day literally hell.

This location lacks signage as to where you're supposed to go when picking up a vehicle or supplies. Only person was working and they weren't very hospitable. It is convenient and fine if you have low expectations.

The location wasn't horrible for sure, at least there was a lot of parking! And the attendant person was professional. The van was super not clean...like more than one renter had used this vehicle since it was cleaned. I've rented many UHauls over my life and none of them have ever been this unclean...for example the fabric upholstry on the seats (why have fabric in the first place??) was gritty and had pet hair all over it...just unpleasant. Also the vehicle registered both front tires were low air pressure and the engine oil needed to be changed - fyi. Thank you :)

Add location information to tell customers that they have to stop at a booth that looks abandoned. I added trolleys and was not notified there were none available. The location has NO EXTRAS AND NO CUSTOMER SERVICE. The person in the booth acted like it was an inconvenience to be answering questions.

I will be forwarding this information to corporate, but I want to pass along my experience. When we returned the truck with a total of 13 miles added I was told that we did not have enough gas. I am happy to provide the receipts for the 2 gallons of gas that was purchased to replenish the 13 miles we drove. When the individual returning the truck was unable to help, I called the main number as was literally told "FUCK YOU" in such a derogatory manner. I explained to the individual that the language is unacceptable to which he again responded "FUCK YOU" over and over again. We will be disputing all charges related to this rental.

I ordered furniture pads with the truck. When I picked up the truck, no furniture pads. That created an extra layer of frustration. I'm also incredulous that U-Haul demands damage insurance or cash payment upon return. This truck had a damaged cargo liner and had been sideswiped but not repaired.

-Customer service was terrible. Had to wait ten minutes for the agent to get to the office. -No truck was available because they were over booked so agent said I had to wait till someone returned the truck. When I asked what happens if they don't return in time and he informed me I was out of luck. -Clearly the truck wasn't cleaned or disinfected in between usage because we watched the previous customer leave and hand over the keys to us. -Furniture blankets that I was charged for were unavailable because they ain't got any. I was completely blown away but not only the poor customer service but the lack of precautions during a pandemic. Need be I have my interaction recorded so you can see how insanely poor my experience was.

Attendant was best described as gruff. Worried more about where people dropping off were parked than helping anyone get set up quick. Communication was not very good. Was not clear where the office was so multiple customer were wandering the lot trying to find the office. Had to call the office to figure out where to pick up. Several other customers had the same issue. Most people are getting dropped off by a souse to get the truck. Spend more time on helping the customer than telling they can't park in the 60 ft wide entrance.

I wasn't told that there would be a $20 fee for dropping the van off after hours. It seems like a bit of steep fee for just parking the van and dropping the key in the box.

My issue was more with who I booked the Uhaul with rather than the location itself. The personell and the location were fine. I had a huge issue as I booked a 15 foot uhaul for that location to be picked up at 7am via the 24/7 app. When I got there at 7 I called the service number to help me pick up my truck but they said only a 10ft. truck was available and I'd have to wait until 8am. So, I had to wait in the rain for an hour to pick up a 10 ft truck, some of my stuff didn't fit so I had to get another truck from a different company. I'd love to talk to somebody about it.

No visible or apparent rental office. Returned on Friday 9/18/20 to the area marked "Return Equipment Here". No U-Haul personnel around. Walked around the yard and found a man in a U-Haul uniform and he points me across the large lot to talk to "Jimmy" for the return. Jimmy says "just leave it over there, it's all paid. I'll send you a receipt". I ask for for him to mark my copy returned and Jimmy says "I don't have a pen, it's all paid see, don't worry, I'll e-mail you the return confirmation". E-mail never comes and on Monday 9/21/20 the equipment is still not returned in the U-Haul system is now marked as "Late". No answer at first from the return location and U-Haul 800 number drops my call after explaining the situation. After lengthy hold with the 800 number I try the drop-off location again. Jimmy can't come to the phone but Payman Parsa says the trailer is here "don't worry I'll send the e-mail" which he actually did about 15 minutes later but not a lot of confidence in the 665 N. Halsted, Chicago location.

Service attendant was a complete jerk - refused to provide dolly's, said it "wasn't in my reservation", even after being shown it was on my confirmation. Was told I "must have let them fall out the back by not latching it", even though I lived ONE BLOCK away. Absolutely ridiculous service.

The moving company 24/7 moving that I booked through uhaul didn't show up to the job. It ruined my day and my weekend and I had to reschedule a bunch of things incurring a lot of extra expenses on myself. Please get rid of 24/7 moving

Pickup/drop-off efficient and easy, recommend using website to complete rental agreement before arrival. Regarding website, had difficulty with having password accepted as certain characters not recognized.

I did not know where to meet the staff who would provide me with my rental. Because no one was in the gate office, I spent several minutes wandering around the yard. Also, I was disappointed that I had to travel almost an hour to pick up my rental, rather than picking it up at the closer location where I reserved it.
