It's feels like it's kinda of a gypsy operation. Staff was rude. Yelled at me for not wearing a mask when none of the staff was wearing one. But they did have my reservation and went smoothly from there.

The parking lot was covered in ice and I fell flat on my back when walking to the truck. There did not appear to be any attempt at salting or mitigating the slipperiness of the lot.

After receiving the vehicle, I informed the attendant that the gas tank was not full. He told me to just bring it back at the level it was at when I picked it up. I actually brought it back with slightly more gas than it started with and again informed the attendant of that when I returned the truck. I was emailed my receipt and saw that I was still charged for 2 gallons @ $10. What else was I expected to do to communicate this and prevent from being overcharged?

The van rental was great. On the website you can add on dolly rentals for this locations, but they don't actually have any other equipment to rent there so I was unable to get the things I had expected.

The self pick up service can be improved a lot. I had to wait almost an hour to get the keys and start the van. The instructions for verification process are not at all clear. While adding an alternative contact it didn't mention anywhere that it needs to 2 contacts. Since I added only one, it didn't verify me and I had to wait for a long time on hold on call. Live chat customer service agent was the worst. I can specifically remember the agent named Vickie who was not at all helpful nor did he seemed to be willing to help. I hope he gets proper training. Also the agent named Alexyss who called to verify should have atleast told on call that 2 contacts are needed. Instead she verified first contact and disconnected the call and then said information cannot be verified and ended the chat session. This is not all a good customer experience for someone just wanting to start a van.

Not sure if this can be improved for the next customer but I could not access the U-Haul website for mobile return on my iPhone, even after attempting multiple methods to do so—Googling “U-Haul” and clicking on the official U-Haul link; clicking the link in both my reservation and return reminder emails; and also typing in U-Haul.com—so this delayed my return check-in time significantly but *thankfully* my guests offered their Android phones that had no problem connecting to the U-Haul website. Based on previous U-Haul experiences and most of the reviews for this location, i expected to have an incredible amount of frustrating issues lasting at least 45 mins just for reservation pick-up. But to my surprise (and also my guests'), the attendant at the counter got me in and out of the place in less than 5 mins!! He was also super friendly and answered all my lingering questions! His coworker was also very kind and helpful! I would try renting from this location again if I had to in hopes of having another great experience :) the only thing I was worried of was that at pickup the guy told me to park the truck where his coworker pulled it out from but upon returning, there were trucks already parked in that area so I had to park a few spots down from where it originally was pulled out of.

The truck worked well and easy pickup process but the individual at the location was very rude and made us pay them cash for parking when they did not alert us beforehand where we were able to park during the rental even though they said they watched us.

My gosh, this first time rental experience was way easier than I thought it would be! The staff were so very friendly, courteous and quick. I rented just the right size truck, got my move done, and returned the truck.. I'll always trust the UHaul name!

Truck was clean, in good working order, 1/4 tank of fuel, and available quick for my reservation. It certainly met my expectation. The staff was OK... During my return a few hours later, I backed in the truck in the exact spot where I picked it up, having fueled 2 gallons for 8 miles driven (I think it was below 1/4 tank when acquired). I walked into the office, the clerk asked if I was picking up a truck, in which I said, No, I'm returning. There was a van that someone pulled up directly in front of the rental office. The desk clerk, then barked at me and said that's a not a good spot to drop off the van. Of course, I responded that's not my vehicle. Rather than apologize and say Sorry sir, I assumed that van was your return... he just ignored the attack. All good, but would have been nice to say Sorry. And when I picked up the truck.. Good Morning, etc. A little friendliness goes a long way. I felt I was retrieving a vehicle from an impound lot, rather than a U-Haul rental office.

Employees were not helpful at all; rude and disorganized, they provided no paperwork; and when returning the truck I along with a few other customers were waiting inside Uhauls shop with no employees present for greater than 10 minutes. Both employees left the store unattended and there was no note or number to call.

Long wait. Allowed me to order moving blankets online, but when I went to pick up truck I was told they dont have moving blankets at that location. Truck had a bunch of plastic wrap and trash from a prior move in bag where blankets should have been. Long wait and staff was not nearly as professional as other uhaul locations I have been to.

Front desk staff wasn't helpful. I began online check in process but was instructed I had to wait for a specialist on my phone since I already began the online process, needed to get a second persons verification. Seems odd that I couldn't get assistance from someone on site for something like that, took me longer to check out because of it and an overall downgraded experience

I ordered moving equipment that I was charged for, but no dollies or moving blankets were supplied. Overall, they just need to update their system to make it easier for customers to pickup rental trucks and equipment. Took about 30 mins just to get the van when it could have easily could have taken 5 mins.

This was not my original location. My location was moved due to a lack of equipment, but the new location opened an hour later. This I had to discover myself because the person that called to switch locations told me the new location opened at the same time. There were multiple problems with U-Haul, the biggest being a 6' trailer is only 5'2" tall. I would NEVER do business with U-Haul again.

Did not have blankets I ordered and said I needed to track them down at another Uhaul location. So I ended up having to call other locations and make a second stop at another Uhaul location. The guy I talked to was also quite rude. Was disappointed in service.

Unfriendly costumer service at this location. The location wasn't opened on time I had a problem with my reservation and the guy didn't even tried to help so I had to go to home depot to get the missing equipment that I needed. Very BAD Experience!!!

- Self check-in process on U-Haul website says skip line and go pick up your key. This location told me to stay in line. Don't know if website or location is wrong. - Lock on truck didn't match keys - Missing moving blankets in green storage bag - Wasn't swept when picked up, had to clean out dirt and loose screws

My only complain is the lengthy check in process. Driver license and call a contact for verification can be done the day before the rentals starts. Then upload the DL the day of and if it matches then release the key code.

Facility was closed when I dropped off the vehicle at nearly 9 p.m. the day prior to my actual return date. It was dark and spooky. Not much lighting at all. I didn't exit the Uhaul vehicle until my Uber driver arrived. You need MUCH better lighting. I was afraid.

This location did not have the furniture dolly I had specifically reserved and absolutely needed. Also, my truck was dirty and damaged in ways not previously marked, so I had to spend time documenting that prior to leaving, which made me late to pick up furniture. The office was not helpful and the truck was a gas guzzler or maybe leaking - the needle moved off the 1/4 starting point as soon as I drove it off the lot and somehow it went through almost the full quarter tank even though I only drove about 6-7 miles total. Not cool, whole experience was terrible, time-consuming, and expensive. And we didn't even get the furniture dolly we needed, which moving furniture much harder.

Very easy pickup and drop-off process. The only issue was that the truck was really dirty, with old liquid and gunk in the cup holders and even a cigarette butt in the bottom cup area of the driver's side door.

Horrible attendant. Ordered boxes for pickup, location did not have any boxes even though I ordered them weeks in advance. Attendant forced me to pay $10 for parking that was not anywhere in the contract. Absolutely rude and threw in extra charges that were not disclosed prior to pickup.

When we arrived the person in the trailer there said we were not allowed to leave our trailer because he already had too many. He wanted us to call U-Haul and tell you guys that he could not take any more! We were in downtown Chicago and it was hard enough to get the trailer to that location and he wanted us to bring it somewhere else!! He was not friendly at all, in fact he was very mean. I even had someone call me earlier in the day to verify the drop off location so I don't know what the problem was! I did the return through the app and left it there anyway but felt like I was doing something bad! I was almost in tears thinking about trying to find another location to return it to!

HORRIBLE customer service. Website would error out so that couldn't check in the trailer. Over an hour wait time. Never received the verify code to change a password and was not in junk mail so I couldn't check it in. The Chicago location kept saying they would email me in 20 minutes and it never happened. Had to drive back to the location two days after checking it in so I could make sure it went through. Never again will I rent from UHAUL. HORRIBLE experience and ruined the weekend move spending so much time dealing with it.

I wouldn't recommend to anyone to go to this location. The employee i had to deal with was disrespectful got in my face when I asked about the gas. I felt like he was going to get violent. If this is the kind of employee's uhaul hires to represent them I'll go some place else. Also I was charged more then what I was told over the phone when reserving the truck.

Parking at the facility should be based on time not a flat rate. Dont charge for equipment when you don't have it say you're going to refund and then never do

Fix the U-Haul app. It took a half hour to pick up the truck and another half hour to return it just because the app kept bringing us to the same screen over and over, or was otherwise very slow to process anything. This is in addition to the time we spent actually reserving the truck and pre-filling all the information which the app made us re-enter.

While traveling to Chicago on the day I rented the trailer, I was called by a U-Haul rep and I confirmed I could drop off the trailer the on 2nd or 3rd day after rental when done rather than on the 5th day as indicated on the contract. The U-Haul rep said I could even drop off the trailer after hours using the U-Haul app. I arrived in Chicago, emptied the trailer then went to the drop off location indicated on my contract. I arrived at the drop off location and the worked refused to take the trailer. The worker said for me to return on the 5th day after renting as it said in contract. I said I was going back to Texas and couldn't wait until the 5th day. I explained my conversation with the U-Haul rep about leaving the trailer on the 2nd or 3rd day after renting and the worker said he didn't care what the U-Haul rep said and he wasn't taking the trailer until the 5th day. I asked him to write his name on my contract and to write that he was refusing to take the trailer. He wrote his name and the location he told me to take the trailer to. I said I wouldn't take the trailer to the other location without confirmation they would take it. He gave me the number and I called. The person answering said she would have to transfer me to the regional office to confirm the change of drop off location. The regional office never answered so I did a drop off using the mobile app and left the trailer parked next to other U-Haul trailers. I was able to do this because the worker never left the office. I then called the main U-Haul number to explain the situation but the recording stated there was a 39 minute wait so I hung up. This location is giving U-Haul a bad name due to the rudeness of the worker and his refusal to take the trailer. What was I to do with a U-Haul trailer for 3 more days when I planned to leave Chicago that night? There must have been something more going on between this location and U-Haul and I was caught in the middle. My recommendation to other U-Haul customers in Chicago: DO NO USE THIS LOCATION!

When I was picking up "on the app", it didn't prompt me to input the mileage and gas. The gas was on E with 3 miles to empty. I was unable to report this, the mileage and the the cargo area of the truck had shattered clear glass all over. I had to clean up the mess and get gas which caused me to be late to my destination. The UHaul attendant came out during pickup and told me he would credit me 1/4 tank of gas if I brought it back with 1/4 tank of gas in it. I'd like someone to confirm this credit was done properly. I rent Uhaul often.

The uhaul did not have a full tank when I picked it up. It only had 1/4 tank but I was expected to return the uhaul with a full tank. The size of the Uhaul was not large enough. I had a one bedroom apartment and my couch was not able to fit in this uhaul even though it supposedly can fit one-two bedrooms.

Maybe provide a receipt or some type of check out paperwork. I handed my keys in and that was it. No check of the trick or equipment. I realized later that I probably should have asked for a receipt or proof that I turned everything in.

When I arrived, some guy stopped me and say "they were no longer accepting drop offs". We did not want to let me in. I told him that I had a contract with Uhaul and he needed to deal with someone at Uhaul. This was truly a horrible experience all the way around.
