Equipment I reserved (furniture dolleys) was not at the location and it was to late to change providers. The location simply said "the website doesn't check what we have in stock before accepting your request". This caused a lot of frustration for my move. Everything was fine at the location - but the website not confirming equipment is even "available" when reserving just feels like a lie.

The gentleman that I checked in with had difficulty accessing the U-Haul website and was therefore delayed in releasing the equipment to me even though I had completed the required on line check in. He was very courteous and considerate and I understood that this was something beyond his control. I was, however, dismayed when I discovered that the electrical cord for the trailer lights was so short that it didn't even reach the ball on the tongue of the trailer. This required a special trip to a nearby hardware store to purchase an extension so that I could safely operate the trailer. I was informed that the individual that had rented the trailer the previous day had experienced the same issue and had also had to purchase the extension cord. I would have expected that U-Haul would have realized that their equipment is unsafe in the state that they are renting it and that they would have taken the appropriate actions to remedy the situation when it was first realized. Instead it appears that the company has chosen to ignore the safety issue that their clients face when renting this piece of equipment.

At first it was unclear that I needed go inside Hasty Market for the keys, but once we got them everything went smoothly!

The online app is very glitchy, gave me 2 pick up locations on same order, not clear that one was my preferred pick up but 2nd one was my actual pick up... email should be more clear. Also stated I would be called to confirm before certain date, I never got a call. App is terrible, but in person service good.

I have sent an email to Service@Uhaul.com, I expect to hear back shortly. This was the worst move entirely because of Uhaul services at this location and Uhaul.

The truck had obviously not been sanitized between uses. I think sanitization of high traffic surfaces (headrest, handles, steering wheel, radio etc) should be mandatory during the current health crisis.

-specific to this incident -early pick up, agent unable to alter return time to 8:30am -faulty gas gauge: @ start gas at 'F', after 26kms, it went over F and agent would not rebate me. he would not verify my claim and asked me to call UHAUL and complain -closed out Acct on my credit card, despite my request to use INTERAC - have pictures of gas gauge, and reciepts, - please review and consider a form of rebate for the xtra gas - will use contact form to send pictures thank you

have rented several times from the location near my house. I booked a van for this same location and Uhaul rebooked pickup from another location without my consent. I was left a voicemail.....callers voice was muffled, not clear and did not leave a call back number. Showed up for pickup the next morning only to find my truck was at another location 25km away. This caused delay in pickup and I had to pay for extra kms due to the remote location of the pick up.

I don't understand why it cost $28 to fill tank after driving 20 miles! Clearly wasnt fully topped up when I picked up the truck. Not the lessees fault because the gauge indicated full on pick up.

I believe there were some repetitive questions for the online rental. That was a bit annoying but the questions and forms were very clearly laid out.

on the middle of the process the clerk was leaving me to serve his corner store customers which made the process longer and made me missed my pick up appointment resulting in me paying for a van I didn't use.

During this time , i would have expected to find a clean and well maintained truck. The truck was absolutely filthy and needed to be cleaned by myself, as well as fully disinfected, once again the truck was filthy. The check engine light was on the whole time.. I have remted personally several times, as well as my company. This was a horrible experience

Help customers based on a first-come, first-serve basis. Don't help a bunch of other customers coming in for purchases from hasty mart who have arrived after a u-haul customer while making the uhaul customer wait.

The beginning process was not like other car rental company. I had to upload driver's license information electronically using my own phone. The overall service was good.

Pick up and return was excellent. Truck had 100,000 miles on it, but it worked well. The only issue, but a minor one is that every previous driver must have been a smoker because it really smelled of cigarette smoke.

My experience using U-Haul services yesterday was absolutely disappointing. My original rental was at Lams Petroleum, unfortunately the express check-in through the phone app left me with an error message. The gas station attended was extremely rude and refused to help other than give me the 1800 U-Haul number. The man who helped me over the phone notified me that none of the trucks at Lams petroleum were returned or showing in the system, and that I had to drive to a location further away from my moving location. I was not given a choice of time to pick up at Hastey Market, so I arrived late. As I arrived, I had to restart the rental process -even though the app gave me the option for express check-in. I spent another 30 minutes completing the rental process with the cashier at Hastey market as he regularly served other customers. I finally left the location with my truck at 445, after several inconveniences, delays, and issues with the U-Hual app and text message links to the website. My 4 hour rental started at 415, even though I did not receive my truck key until closer to 445pm, and I was late retuning the truck at 915pm- which was officially returned by the attendant at Hastey Market for 928pm. I have now been charged a late fee due to inconveniences and delays related to your service providers. I can say that I will not be easily convinced to use your services in the future, and I will certainly be expressing my vast disappointment with U-Hauls poop customer service standards.

Attendant hopped into truck and took gas meter reading without allowing us to fill up gas at the gas pump in the same plaza. Then he charged us a higher rate for gas than market rate.

Vehicle was rented at Coventry location. When arrived to pick it up was told location had changed to hasty market. They did not have the 10 foot truck I rented. Had to take a 15 footer. The vehicle had pizza boxes and pop cans in it.

It would be best to provide vehicles with full tanks of gas because it is very difficult to know how much gas the customer is required to add when returning the vehicle.

Why am I being asked for a gas receipt? All I have to do is to fill it up to the level when I got it right?. I got it in full so I fill the tank to full,I don't see why should i give a receipt for gas. Just wondering.

I booked a Uhaul van On Jan 9th to be picked up on Jan 10th at 7:00PM from Lams Petroleum gas station, the van was for picking up a couch I have committed to buy and pick up at 8:00PM on the same night, the location was 15 minutes away but the couch owner made it clear that she is running on a tight schedule, so I made sure to give the van picking up process enough time. I got to the location 6:50PM and tried to pick up the van, the Uhaul application kept saying I should come back to this location at 7:00PM, so I waited for 10 minutes and tried again, same message. I tried form Safari (iPhone browser), same message. I asked the gas station attendant, he answered that he doesn't work for Uhaul and he needs a key number. I got in touch with Uhaul service line after a 10 minute wait, the agent changed the pick up time multiple times in efforts for it to work for me, but it didn't. I tried another phone, made sure the location services where on, no luck! The couch owner wants to leave by now, because it was almost 8, so I offered 50 dollars more on the original price just for her to wait longer, she accepts. All of this happened while I was in my car with the heater on(car idling) because it was -26C ! Uhaul's system and customer service didn't perform up to expectations, and I have incurred a charge because of that! I ended up going to a new location, and start a new contract!! Contract number (81551243) I am disappointed at the service provided, and I am sure you can hear that in the many phone calls I have made to Uhaul that night between 7:00PM - 8:13PM I kindly ask Uhaul to reimburse the amount paid that night as I have incurred extra charges (the increased couch price + Idling the car for an hour and a half) because of the broken system!

U-Haul as a company is an absolute mess and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. The man at the Hasty Mart is so lovely but other than that this experience was in it in Total failure. after making a reservation well in advance at another location we were informed last minute that we would have to pick up at this location and drop off in Orleans. this happened after a phone call that U-Haul made to me offering me a promotion for a free 100 km if I took a flat rate. Boy do I have regrets about taking this deal. apparently taking this promotion meant that I would have to pick up and drop off at different location which I was not told and changed the status of my rental from in town to one way owing to the fact that it would be picked up and returned at different locations. For a small move and a 15 foot truck this ended up being a huge headache. we called and ask to have all returned to the same location we picked up as it was not convenient but more convenient than the other location. Although still a lot less convenient than our original location. Evidently calling to change the location of drop off again voided that deal I was offered and I was asked for an additional $40 for the mileage when I dropped the truck off. Total headache. Total waste of time. And all this for a deal that I didn't end up getting. Special no thanks U-Haul.

Vehicle was clean however it was very low on engine oil. Low oil alarm came on before the vehicle left the pick up location. Down at least two quarts I would estimate.

I dropped off the truck at 11pm on Dec 8. The receipt they sent me shows I dropped it off at 10:39 am on Dec 9 and charged me an extra $40 for a day. I used the truck 2 days and paid for 2 days. Now you are charging me an extra day. The gas amount is the same as when I took the truck. Between a half tank a 3/4 tank. I have a picture to prove it. You have charged me 19 for gas! This is fraud

I submitted everything on line as it promised to speed up the process. I cam into the Hasty market and was the third customer in line. I patiently waited my turn but the clerk refused to deal with me and waited on 3 more customers before he got to me. He then asked me every question that I had answered online. He then said I had to sign a couple of documents and that was without looking at the vehicle. I insisted that I needed to see the vehicle before I signed anything. he was annoyed. When I brought the vehicle back I was charge $10.00 more than the agreed upon price and the clerk could do nothing about it. The clerk also asked me to get the blankets from the vehicle which I folded and put back into the bag. He then pulled each blanket out to count them and told me that I did not fold them correctly. this is his job not mine. The blankets were to be in the rental vehicle but were not I had to ask for them and drag them to the vehicle and then I had to drag then back just to be told I did not do it correctly. That is uhaul's job, not the customers. The clerk was very rude and not helpful at all. I would never recommend this place to anyone even though it is convenient to my many neighbours whom I know.

When I rented the van I asked whether the rental included some free mileage, and the agent said the first 50 km were free. However, that was not the case, and I was charged for every km driven. Not expensive, as I only drove 25 km, but I feel I was misinformed and the agent was incompetent not to know basic rental charges.
