Convenient location. I did not check the gas gauge until off the rental parking lot. The gauge read 3/4 full though my contract showed it to be full. I returned the van after adding 9.489 gallons having driven 21 miles in about 1.5 hours. I disposed of a mattress. The driver's side floor had some leaves and dirt on it, the windshield had a light film of dirt, the tire pressure alert glowed on the instrument gauge though the van did not drift when hands off the steering wheel and the brakes are very sensitive/responsive. I will seriously consider alternative agencies for future occasional hauling needs.

$19.95 for rental of a truck sounds like a bargain so I went with U-Haul. Not realizing that the cost would drive the price up so high. I think it is deceptive advertising and so was disappointed with the end cost.

The store was closed when I arrived at noon, even though their website and the sign on the door indicated they were open from 10 - 5. I tried to pick up the truck online using my phone, but the website wasn't working. When I called the U Haul phone number, I was on hold for 25 minutes until a representative picked up, and then on hold for another 20 minutes after he transferred me to a different department. Once I was connected to a representative, she walked me through the process in a very polite and helpful way. But the whole issue put me an hour behind in my project.

The only thing I can think of for improving the experience for the next customer is to have a bigger inventory of boxes and other moving supplies. I was really pleased with my overall experience. Very easy, very friendly and very inexpensive.

Carol was professional, informative and helpful. She pointed me in the direction of exactly what I would need for my move and was 100% accurate. I ran into a slight issue when the queen mattress I purchased and transported would not fit in the space we thought it would. I called, and Chris the owner, let me know I could bring the truck back (with the mattress) where I picked it up as opposed to dropping the UHaul at the planned location we had travelled to. Helped me out immensely. Great location right off highway.

I picked up my 26 ft. truck and returned it in accordance with our agreement. The truck itself mechanical was sound but the appearance lacked substantially. The exterior of the truck and windshield was loaded with smashed bugs. I have to assume it was not cleaned upon its return. I was told not to pick up the truck before 2 because it would not be be returned by the previous renter until noon. The inside of the truck was also not cleaned. Luckily I was alone on the long drive because soda was spilled and the residual sticky was all over the passenger side and the cup holder was so sticky I could not place my cup in the holder. However, your people at your facilities were absolutely super and helpful. Just thought you should know.

I walked in on the spot and asked for a 9' Cargo van and they had it! It was wonderful customer service. I probably had my vehicle rented and out the door in 10 minutes. Overall, a wonderful experience and I will definitely come back.

Customer Service - Attn: Corporate Management I love to be able to rent the U-haul pick up from Ocean Performance. It is convenient for me and affordable for day rental to do household dump runs or to pick up large items that I have purchased! Why don't you let them have one pick-up truck year round? I have to go to Enterprise to rent a vehicle. I would rather use the U-Haul company, but if you don't let either of the local businesses in my area by offering U-Haul rental with pickup truck privileges -Essex Detail, Essex, CT. none at all. That is unfortunate because they are losing business to Enterprise very close by. Thank you. Vanessa Schaefer

Overall I'd say the mobile pick up and drop off was super quick and easy. The cargo van was great - brand new and super comfortable for the long haul we took from Old Saybrook to Philadelphia and back. All in all, this was great!

I was really looking forward to the simplicity of using a Uhaul. So I made a reservation and then the issues started. First it was because I did it over the phone and my last name was spelt wrong so I couldn't find my reservation. Once I did I created an account and fixed the wrong information and then my reservation dissapeared. So I called the first time. They assured me it was still there (even though I couldn't see it). Then I called a second time since it was the day before and I still couldn't see it. That individual changed my pickup time to be an hour earlier when the store would DEFINITALLY be open. So the next day I show up at the store and no ones there. I called uhaul since I still couldn't see the reservation and felt like an idiot because the customer service rep told me the building was DEFINITALLY open and I told them it wasnt. They then looked as t the special hours and saw that there was in fact special hours for that day. She told me she would transfer me to someone who could help, then hung up on me. I called again and was hung up on again. The last time I called I was told to sign in and out of my account a total of 5 times and the information still wasnt there. So I was told to sign in with just the reservation number which eventually worked. I had gotten there 15 minutes before my reservation so I wouldnt be late, and didn't start until 45 minutes after. Next issue we had was in the truck itself. There is a pouch that says "rent 10 moving blankets, just release the tab and remove the blankets" it also says there is a dolly for your convenience. Neither of these things were in the truck. Luckily we had our own moving blankets but the dolly wouldve been nice to use. My concern for that was once we got the truck in the first place, the back of the truck wasnt actually locked, the lock was on the door but not latched. As far as an experience. I'm sure this isnt the norm, the truck was helpful but the customer service I received was sub par.

The mechanical condition of the trailer's hydrolic brakes was deplorable, all metal rusted, brakes engaged inadvertently and almost caused an accident

This U-Haul location was conveniently located, professionally staffed, and made pick up and drop off easy and seamless. U-Haul's website to set up this rental, however, is by a factor of 10 the worse I have ever experienced. The renter must manually uncheck boxes that are already checked for additional product and services. For example, boxes for moving blankets, hand trucks, dollies, even 2 extra workers - all for additional charges - are checked on the order page. You must uncheck them to decline. If the dealer wasn't so good I would never rent another truck from UHaul again.

This address turned out to be incorrect! Why would you send me to the wrong street number when I had a trailer, forcing me to turn around in a difficult spot. I am no longer impresed with UHaul since I had two bad situations! I suggest you look into my rental and fix your procedures and brochures. Peter
