Provide the service that your customer's pay for, and if it's not available notify them earlier than 15 minutes before they've scheduled their pick-up. This was the worst service ever. I reserved a 15' a month ago, and was told that a 15' would definitely be available but the pick up location would be determine closer to my date and I would be contacted by a local representative. I was never contacted, I called UHaul multiple times and no one could tell me where I would be collecting my truck. The day of my pick up they told me there wasn't a 15' available, but I could drive 30 minutes away for a 10'. Terrible service.Alexander C.

Online U-haul communication was problematic. Received an email that said it was giving me location information â€œfor the drop-off location discussedâ€. I couldn't open the link (â€œthe URL is badâ€). Turns out the drop-off location had been changed. I was surprised to get a call from a different drop-off location than planned.John S.
Convince the proprietor to come to work at the time publicized online and the signs on the doors of the establishment. When I told him I had been waiting since 0900 to pick up the truck, he felt the need to explain most people were late picking up their rentals, and I should not be so â€œmeanâ€. This was at 0915. I'm disappointed with Uhaul, as this lazy individual represents Uhaul. The windshield had to be cleaned by me before I could begin my travels, and the tank was below the level claimed. This is inexcusable, or perhaps it's too much to expect professionalism from someone that either can't get up in the morning or must have that second cup of coffee before going to work.Charles M.

The truck was spotless. We reserved furniture pads and a dolly for a 7am self check in and they were in the truck for us. Location was easy to get in and out in a 15' truck. Will use this location again.George B.

There has been a snowy mess lately in our area truck was well maintained but with?weather was still nice truck ran well we were able to move family member ramp and dolly were a great help prices are reasonable would use U- Haul trucks again agent was very nice and enjoyed working with her.frances M.

My only complaint was I ordered a dolly and it didn't come with it. I reached out to a chat agent and said someone would get back with me and no one ever did.CAITLINMARIE F.
I specifically booked this reservation using Uhaul 24/7 Self Service because this location (Shenandoah Valley Rentals and Storage) doesn't open until mid-morning. This proved to be a huge mistake. The web enabled check-out simply did not work at all. I spent over an hour on the phone with UHaul Tech Support and tried the service using both an iPhone and an Android phone to access their software/app to get the combination to the lock box to get keys. I was transferred multiple times and eventually ended up speaking with a tech support guy who had absolutely no idea what he was doing. I could literally hear him cover the phone and ask, â€œwhat do I do nowâ€? I arrived 15 minutes prior to my reservation time and left considerably more than an hour after I was scheduled to be on the road with the truck. And then, after all that, since I didn't take possession of the truck until after 9am, I asked if Uhaul would extend my return time by an hour and was told that my rental began at the scheduled pickup time, regardless of when I actually was able to get the keys. I will note that the problem here had nothing to do with Shenandoah Valley Rentals. The truck was on the lot, clean and full of fuel. The problem was with UHaul's 24/7 Service. The moral of the story is if you need a truck at a specific time, either choose a location that is staffed at the hour you need the truck or rent from a different rental company. One final note. I did not request a hand truck or packing blankets as I didn't need them. However, they apparently come in the truck whether you need them or not. They are zip tied to brackets inside the box, if you cut the zip ties to move those items out of your way, they charge you for rental for the hand truck and blankets. The problem was that I literally could not stack cargo along the last 3' of the truck box on the side that had the hand truck and bag of blankets. To do so would have required moving those items out of the way, which you can't do without breaking the zip ties, resulting in additional rental charges. It's a pretty underhanded way to make money.christopher P.

The moving supplies were not furnished per the order and as a result furniture was scratched and more was spent on labor to load the truck. Tire on the truck was sliced open on the side wall down to the threading. Brakes made noise which got worse along the way and the truck pulled hard to the right.Timothy N.

Arrived at destination after having to push my movers back a hour right at 9AM expecting to be able to get my car off. Was told that the employees wouldn't help and I had to get car off myself, despite not knowing how. My girlfriend and I spent about 30minutes outside in the rain trying to figure out how to remove car as I had movers waiting on me. I had to crawl under auto transport in the rain and finally was able to figure out how to remove car. Then another 15 minutes attempting to get the transport in the spot with no assistance from employee. Was told that the normal person who does this was out of the office, so was left on my own. Employees were pleasant enough but it's a reasonable expectation that assistance would be provided at an authorized uhaul location. This experience will prevent me using Uhaul in the future. This cost me extra money to compensate movers for waiting. Employees did not come to verify truck safe return with me, just asked for keys and sent me on my way. I never signed the final statement post-return, was just charged with no acknowledgement. Quite a miserable experience.Benjamin W.

Upon arrival, the gentleman at the location immediately felt the need to complain that we were "late picking up the trailer" and proceeded to say that "several people wanted that trailer". We were a bit late picking it up; however, we had some vehicle issues that needed attention and, since it had been reserved and funds were being held in our account, we didn't feel that it would be a problem!Randy H.

The truck was tremendous. However, the individual renting out the vehicle to me had little interaction with me wwhile typing up the rental. She did not explain that mileage is limited, nor did she explain an additional fee for going over allotted mileage. While I did sign and should have read the contract I feel she should have explained the mileage section as well as asking me to sign on the line. In addition I called this location and spoke with this individual with her initially telling me I had no rental at this location. She was able to find the rental after I restarted my name and assured her Inhad secured a rental online and had confirmation via email. When I went into the rental building the same individual once again told me I had no rental and had to ask my name again before finding my rental online. She did check to mlm make certain there was a furniture dolly after I told her I had requested one. When I called back the next day requesting to extend my rental and explained that I was the one that had leased the 20 ft. truck from her the day before she stated that I did not rent from that Uhaul site. I told her I definitely did and she asked my name again and was able to find me online ( there were but 2 trucks at their rental site when I rented the 20 ft. truck with the other being a 15 ft. truck)l. She said that she could usually extend the co tract online but the system would not let her perform this task this time so she would have a Uhaul representative called shortly. One hour later I decided to call Uhaul be6I had heard nothing. I was easily able to extend my rental time via phone conversation with a company representative. I would not recommend renting from this site because of the individual handling the lease. Renting from Uhaul was, at one time, unlimited mileage. We were moving 3.5 hours away from our previous home. It appears that this rental service is now no different than leasing a car for a trip.Rachelle G.
